We join our hearts with yours in lifting this man and the people in his life before the throne of grace. Salvation is a gift from God, given freely to all who believe in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that if this man does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for a Savior and draw him into a personal relationship with Christ.
Father, we ask that You would open his eyes to see the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus died for his sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day so that he might have eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Soften his heart to receive Your love and grace. If he is already a believer, we pray for his spiritual growth, that he would walk in obedience to Your Word and be a light to those around him.
For the people in his life, we ask that You would surround them with Your love and truth. Let them see the hope that is found in Christ alone. We rebuke any deception or spiritual blindness that may be keeping them from knowing You. It is a blessed exercise of the soul to plead for the salvation of others, for thus we enter into the very intercession of our great High Priest. When you cry, "Heavenly Father, save this man and those around him," you breathe a prayer which the Holy Spirit Himself inspires with groanings that cannot be uttered. Such intercession is a token of grace within your own heart, for it is God who writes the names of sinners upon the affections of His praying people.
Let your prayers be fervent and continual, for the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Yet remember that the way of salvation is ever the same: it is to look unto Jesus and be saved. Faith must be urged upon them, for without it there is no salvation, and the Scripture saith, “Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” Plead the promise that all who come to God by Him shall find eternal and certain salvation. Pray that the Spirit would break their hearts with the sight of sin and draw them to the Saviour, for no man can come except the Father draw him.
Do not faint if the answer tarries, for God’s delays are not denials. My own soul knows how sweet it is to whisper every care into the ear of Him who loved us with an everlasting love. He hears, He pities, and in His own time He will bring many sons to glory. What a mercy that this salvation is divine, planned by infinite wisdom, purchased by precious blood, and applied by almighty power! Even the blackest of sinners may be washed white. Continue, then, to water your requests with tears and watch for the harvest. For my heart’s desire and prayer for them also is that they may be saved.

You have asked the Lord to save a man and the people in his life, and this is a request that agrees with the heart of Christ. Do not say "if he is in need" as though it were uncertain. Scripture says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Every soul needs salvation unless it has already fled to Jesus Christ.
So pray with confidence. The Son of God is able to save to the full those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. He does not need a successor, and He does not grow weary. Bring this man and his companions before the throne continually, because it is the glory of the lover of mankind that many should be saved.
But remember that salvation has one door. No one is justified by the Law or by an outwardly decent life. The prophet says, "The just shall live by faith." Faith in Christ alone justifies the sinner, because all have sinned and are under the curse. Therefore when you ask God to save them, ask also that He would give them repentance, open their eyes, and grant them living faith in the One who was crucified and raised for them.
Do not stop at prayer alone. Love them enough to speak the gospel with patience and to live in a way that does not contradict it. If any among them is walking in a path of unrepentant sin, do not ask God to bless that path. Ask Him to break it and turn them to Christ. Lift up holy hands without wrath or doubting. If you hold any bitterness against this man or anyone in his life, lay it down before you pray, lest you ask for mercy while grieving the God of mercy.
