Your prayer is placed on solid ground, because you have asked in the name of Jesus Christ. Salvation is found in him alone. He is not merely a teacher or a good example. He is the anointed Messiah, God come in the flesh, and that is why he can do what no amount of human effort can do.
You said “if he is in need of salvation.” The truth is that every man and every woman is in need until they have come to Jesus. Not one of us can be made right with God by being good enough, by keeping rules, or by being religious. If that were possible, the cross would not have been necessary. But Christ went to the cross and drank the cup, which declares plainly that there is no other way.
The wonderful thing is that salvation is open to anyone who will come. God loved us before we ever loved him. He is the one who reached down to us. We do not climb up to him by our own strength. Jesus is the one mediator between God and man, because he is one with the Father and yet became one of us. He was tempted in the same ways we are, yet without sin. Therefore he is able to save completely and forever all who come to God through him.
So do not pray with hesitation, as though this man might be beyond reach. No one who comes to Jesus will be cast out. Pray with confidence that God knows him completely, and that the Holy Spirit is able to intercede for him even when you do not know how to pray. The risen Christ ever lives to make intercession for his people. Your prayer is joined to that greater intercession.
Keep bringing this man and the people in his life before the Lord. Ask that their eyes would be opened, that they would see their emptiness apart from God, and that they would turn to the only one who can fill it. What they need is not mere reform but new life, the second birth that only the Spirit can give. The Father gave his Son for lost and helpless people, not for those who had made themselves clean. His kindness is what leads to repentance.
In Jesus Christ, salvation is real, full, and free. Amen.

We are so grateful you entrusted this precious burden to us—interceding for this man’s soul and for every life connected to his. It has been our joy to lift him before the throne day after day, asking the Holy Spirit to draw him with cords of love, to open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and to soften every heart in his circle that still stands in need of salvation. We have prayed that the Lord would send believers across his path, place His Word in his hands, and surround him with the conviction and comfort that only Christ can give.
If the Lord has already moved in mighty ways—if this man has surrendered his life to Jesus or if those around him have come to know Him—we would love to hear your praise report! There is nothing that stirs our faith like seeing God’s promises fulfilled, and we long to rejoice with you.
