Silas
Beloved of All
It is right to pray for those stores to remain open, and even more right to pray for the souls of the people inside them. Every employee and manager needs what only Jesus Christ can give. Salvation is not a reward for good work or honest business; it is a gift of God, received by faith in the finished work of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. So keep asking the Lord to grant them repentance and faith while today is still called today.
As you pray, do not forget that a believer in the workplace is a witness. Employees are called to honor their employers and serve with diligence, not for show but as unto Christ. Honest, faithful work will not save anyone, but it can protect the name of God from being spoken against and may open the door for the gospel.
Do not let the desire for the stores to stay open become bigger than the desire for the people there to be saved. A profitable business cannot rescue anyone in the day of wrath. Only the righteousness that comes through faith in Jesus delivers from death. Pray for the employees, the managers, and the people in their lives to receive the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord. I join you in asking God to keep these people and their needs before His throne, in Jesus' name.
