We lift our hearts in agreement with this prayer, dear brother or sister in Christ. It is a beautiful thing to intercede for those who may not yet know the saving grace of our Lord Jesus. The music industry, especially genres that may glorify lifestyles contrary to God’s Word, can often lead people away from the truth. We join you in praying for the salvation of those in the 80s rock band and everyone connected to them, that their eyes may be opened to the light of Christ.
The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 2:3-4, "This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth." God’s heart is for all to come to repentance, and He is patient, not wishing for any to perish (2 Peter 3:9). We must remember that no one is beyond His reach, even those who may seem far from Him.
We also recognize that the culture of rock music in the 80s, and even today, often promotes rebellion, hedonism, and lifestyles that do not honor God. Many in that industry have been ensnared by the love of fame, wealth, or sinful pleasures. But we serve a God who breaks chains and sets captives free! Let us pray fervently that the Holy Spirit would move in their hearts, convicting them of sin and drawing them to repentance.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved. We lift up the members of this 80s rock band and all those connected to them, family, friends, fans, and colleagues. Lord, we ask that You would shatter any deception in their lives and reveal Yourself to them in powerful ways. Let them see the emptiness of the world’s promises and the fullness of life found only in Christ.
We rebuke the spirit of rebellion and ungodliness that may have taken root in their lives. We declare that Your light will pierce the darkness in their hearts, and they will come to know You as their Savior and Lord. Soften their hearts, Father, and let them hear Your voice calling them to repentance. Surround them with believers who will speak truth into their lives and show them the love of Christ.
We also pray for those who are already believers but may be struggling with the influence of worldly music or culture. Strengthen them, Lord, to stand firm in their faith and to be a light in dark places. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105).
For those who do not yet know You, we ask that You would send laborers into their lives, people who will boldly share the gospel with them. Open doors for conversations about faith, and let them see the transformative power of Your love. May they turn from their sins and put their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

That cry for the members of a rock band and the souls around them is the very intercession God writes upon human hearts, a care rising beyond our own safety into concern for others. Yet remember where salvation lies, and where it never will be found. There is no salvation in forms or ceremonies, no refuge in the fame or noise of this world, only in Christ Jesus. To pray rightly for them, you must point them to Him, for "He only is my rock and my salvation." Tell them plainly the way: "Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed."
But know this from the Scriptures: the Holy Spirit’s intercession within us is for the saints, not the unregenerate. If these souls are yet dead in sin, they must first be brought to life, made sons and daughters of God, before they can know that inward groaning of the Spirit. So our cry for them must be that God would do that very work, plow up the rock that yields nothing. We see the oxen wearied with useless labor on that hard ground, and our only resource is to fall before God and plead, "Lord, turn that rock into good soil." That is the prayer of faith for the unsaved: not to bless their path as it is, but to beg the Almighty to change their nature entirely, to grant them repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus, whose honor is engaged to save the meanest of His sheep when they look to Him.

You do well to pray for those strangers, for the law of the Church stirs up the faithful to make supplication even for the uninitiated. And when you pray for the salvation of those in that rock band and all connected to them, you show a love that binds you to them, and for this we must give thanks to God, who makes His sun to shine on the evil and the good. This is a gracious impulse, and you should continue in it, not with a prayer of ten thousand clauses thought to be heard for much speaking, but with the persistent heart of the widow who prevailed upon the pitiless ruler by her continual intercession.
Yet consider also the foundation of your plea. You ask the Father to save them if they are in need of salvation. Understand then that all stand in need, for no one part of virtue is sufficient for our salvation. There must be a careful hearing of the word, a deliverance from worldly things, and a coming unto God by Him who ever lives to make intercession. For Christ is able to save to the uttermost those who come unto God through Him, not by interceding once for all, but continually, for as Priest He ever lives to intercede for them. Your prayer is joined to that eternal intercession, a mighty thing indeed.
But take heed also to yourself. Do not think, because you intercede for others, that you have no need of prayer, for even Paul needed the prayers of the church. It is a good thing to enjoy the prayer of the saints, but it profits us nothing if we ourselves sleep. While you lift up holy hands for those who may still dance in the shadow of death, see that you do so without wrath or doubting, and that your own life is alert. For the acceptable time is now, the day of salvation is at hand. Pray therefore, but also live as one who has been succored, that your supplication for them may rise pure before the throne.

What a beautiful, selfless heart behind this prayer. You are standing in the gap for a band from decades past and for everyone connected to them, asking the Lord to grant salvation where it is needed. This is intercession at its truest, stepping between the living and the dead, crying out for mercy on behalf of others.
Salvation is never an abstract idea; it is found in a Person. Long ago in the wilderness, water flowed from a rock to quench the thirst of a rebellious people. Scripture tells us that rock was Christ. He is the unshakable foundation, the rock that is higher than anything we face. When a burden like this presses on your heart, that rock becomes your refuge. Cry out, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,” because only He can carry what we cannot. He alone is our rock, our fortress, and the horn of our salvation.
