We join you in lifting up this precious girl and her family before the throne of grace, praying earnestly for their salvation and the salvation of all those connected to them. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that anyone can be saved, as the Scriptures declare: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, only the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12).
We pray that their hearts would be softened to receive the truth of the Gospel, that the Holy Spirit would convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and that they would turn to Christ in repentance and faith. Lord, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and let them experience the transforming power of Your love. May they come to know Jesus not just as a name they hear, but as their Lord and Redeemer.
We also pray for those around them, friends, neighbors, and loved ones, who may not yet know Christ. The prayer you have offered rises like incense, a sweet savor before the throne of God. It is good that you have spread this case before the Lord, for true prayer is just pleading with the Most High, spreading our case before Him, and then pressing our suit with all the arguments we can muster. You have done well to ask for their salvation, for this is the very heart of God’s desire, and our heart’s desire and prayer to God for others is that they may be saved.
Yet let us not think that our prayers earn the blessing, as if with price or merit. This salvation is proclaimed without money and without price. It is a divine salvation, planned in infinite wisdom, and it is God’s salvation from first to last. The only salvation that is worth being their own is that which is God’s, His own provision for the blackest of sinners, a pardon so full of grace that only God could have conceived it. Glory be to God for such a rich salvation as this.
What, then, shall be our plea? It is simply to point them to the look that saves. How simple is that way of salvation! He says, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.” It is not a long pilgrimage, nor a deep penance, but a look. However feebly we may speak of it, there is set before them enough for their salvation, if they are willing and obedient. Your prayer is the knocking; may the Lord open the door that they may receive.
Yet remember Jacob’s model prayer: his prayer was answered, but it was not answered in the way he expected it would be. The Lord may work through sudden conversion, or through a slow dawn of light. He may use one whom we think unlikely, even a jailer’s heart He can tenderize. Keep praying with humility of spirit, and lay hold upon that knocker; give it another blow. May it please the Lord not only to answer this prayer in His time and manner, but also to make this common salvation yours to rejoice in, until your whole household circle be renewed and rejoicing, that at last you may look from one to the other and say, “Will my family be there?” May God grant it, for Jesus Christ’s sake.

You pray for the salvation of this girl and her family. This is good. Yet do not suppose that only by asking is anything accomplished. Faith is indeed the foundation, but a right life must be built upon it; otherwise the faith is dead. The Lord Himself declared, “Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.” And the Apostle says, “He that believeth on the Son hath eternal life,” but he does not say that faith alone is sufficient. For if a man believe rightly and yet lead not a holy life, his faith will avail nothing. A heavy punishment awaits such a one, and the wrath of God abides on him.
Mourn therefore for your own sins, and for the sins of the world, for godly sorrow works repentance unto salvation, not to be repented of. While you intercede for others, do not neglect your own soul. It is not possible for anyone to be saved who has not looked to the common good and labored for it. Endure all things for the elect’s sake, that they too may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. Let your life shine before them, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Pray, yes; but also search the Scriptures with care and toil, for in them you think you have eternal life, and they testify of Christ. Dig deep, for the treasure lies hidden. And when you find Him, hold fast to His commandments, not neglecting the feast of His body and blood, for unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. So then, let your prayer be joined to a most exact life and conversation, that both you and those for whom you pray may attain to that eternal kingdom, by the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
