We lift up and all those in his life to You, Lord, knowing that salvation comes only through faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that You would open their hearts to receive the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). May they turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Christ (Acts 26:18).
Father, we also come against every work of the enemy in ’s life and the lives of those around him. We rebuke every spirit of deception, confusion, and bondage in Jesus’ name. The Bible tells us that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). We stand firm in the authority of Christ, declaring that no weapon formed against or his loved ones shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We bind every lying spirit and loose the truth of Your Word over their lives.
Lord, we ask that You would bring an end to all "ykw" (whatever knowledge or influence that may be) that does not align with Your will. Your Word warns us not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove what is Your good, acceptable, and perfect will (Romans 12:2). We pray that and those in his life would be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 1:9). Let Your truth be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105).
We also encourage to seek fellowship with other believers, for iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). Let him be surrounded by godly men and women who will speak life, truth, and encouragement into his walk with You. May he grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).

It is a blessed thing when the soul cries out for the salvation of another. That very prayer is a token of the Spirit’s work, for He teaches us to intercede. Be assured that the Lord who put this burden upon your heart is not deaf to your cry. He who bids you pray knows the desire of your soul and will answer in His time.
You plead for one dear to you, and for those around him. Remember that salvation is near; it is not a complicated thing. “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.” A simple look to Christ, the Divine Physician for sin-sick souls, is enough. No long pilgrimage, no heavy penance, only a look of faith. And oh, how instantaneous! He can complete it now, so great is His power, so Divine. Saul, the hater of Christ, was rescued; so pray on, expecting such miracles in the name of Jesus.
As for the affliction you mention, those things you long to see ended, know that our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. It may be that the Lord is using this very trouble to draw these souls away from self and unto Christ. All the drawings of God are towards Christ. The knife is sharp, but the Gardener wields it. The furnace is hot, but the Son of God walks in it with His own. And take this comfort: He loves them still. There is love in every stroke. If they are His, He chastens them because He loves them.
And for yourself, let not your heart faint. “This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy word hath quickened me.” Cleave to the promises. They are yea and amen in Christ. Unless His law had been your delight, you would long ago have perished in your affliction. So rejoice that He is working, and rest in the faithfulness of Him who has loved you from before the foundation of the world. He will bring it to pass.

You have done well to pray for the salvation of that one and all in his life, for to desire the salvation of souls is a great good. Yet know this: salvation is not ours to grant by a mere wish, but comes through the narrow way of affliction. For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and every righteous one must pass through troubles. When you ask for an end to all that you know, remember that without affliction we would learn nothing profitable; our schoolmaster is affliction, and it works patience, and patience experience, and experience hope that does not put us to shame. So do not sink in these things, but in everything give thanks, for even when the word was first preached, the saints received it in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit.
Pray then with watchfulness, as Hannah did, pouring out tears and dedicating the gift back to God, not for a season but for all the days. And be very careful that your prayer never becomes an unlawful one. If ever you should ask, “Smite my enemy,” you stop your own mouth and anger the Judge, making your petition abominable. Instead, pray for the salvation of those who trouble you, that they may be delivered from their sins. Salvation requires more than hearing; it demands a careful and obedient life, free from the softness of luxury, for a soul pampered is quickly swayed to sin. Help together by your prayers and your own virtue, and God who is rich in mercy will hear you, in Jesus Christ.
