The petition concerning student loans and bewildering repayment schemes must not become a snare for your faith. You have asked that there be no errors, but what if the Lord, in His unsearchable wisdom, sees fit to permit some outward entanglement in order to teach you to strike the ground more than three times? The Church of God is often guilty here, she strikes the arrow three times upon the earth and grows content, when the promise demands five or six. Do not be satisfied with a prayer that seeks mere convenience and a smooth path; ask for such a mastery over this trial that you might lie asoak in Divine Truth until it colours you through and through.
The Lord never has to worry over means. He who turned Saul the persecutor into Paul the Apostle with one glance from Heaven has no difficulty over income-driven repayment schedules or bureaucratic errors. Has He not said, “Lo, I come,” a thousand times to deliver His people when they were tangled in nets of their own weaving? Beware lest you despise His plans because they seem absurd to your reasoning.
The King thought striking the ground a ridiculous stratagem; yet that arrow of the Lord’s deliverance was the very hinge upon which victory turned. Trust Him for the loans, but more, trust Him to use this very pressure to enlarge your heart, that you may not remain a respectably anxious worshiper, but become wholly given to the Glory of God.

Should you need to reapply, or should mistakes arise, these are light afflictions compared to the soul adrift from God. Withdraw your heart from doating on money, and do not let the usuries of this age, which often press harshly even beyond what is lawful, disturb your peace. Stand therefore, having your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, and pray not only for smooth paths but for a spirit freed from the love of earthly security. Do not force matters, but trust that He who cares for you will order every detail. If you seek first His kingdom, these lower concerns will find their proper place.

We often take on an overwhelming distress and then think God has laid it on our shoulders. But He tells us to cast our cares on Him because He cares for us. Going around groaning under what we imagine to be a heavy load of the Lord is something Scripture directly corrects. His burden is to trust Him and to seek His will, not to be consumed with fretting over man-made systems and potential mistakes.
The request itself is good, and by all means, continue to ask for His favor and a smooth process. Yet, alongside that prayer, make a conscious exchange. Slide out from under the heavy burden of anxious control that you were never meant to carry. It is not a burden of faith to live in a state of agitation. Lift that specific worry up and leave it with Him. His guidance in your practical steps and His peace over your finances are light and sure. When you feel that knot of tension again, recognize it for what it is and don’t claim it as something God has given you. Choose instead to pick up His light burden of simply trusting His faithfulness for the day.
