We join you in lifting up this man and the people in his life before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to draw them near to Himself. Salvation is a gift that comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, as Scripture declares: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). We pray that if this man or those around him do not yet know the Lord, their hearts would be softened to receive the truth of the Gospel.

Lord God, we ask You to open their eyes to see their need for a Savior. Convict them of sin by Your Holy Spirit, that they may turn from their ways and place their trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

We also pray for boldness and opportunity for believers in their lives to share the hope of Christ with them. Let the light of the Gospel shine brightly before them, that they may see their need for repentance and faith. Father, we ask that You would surround them with godly influences who will point them to You, and that they would be receptive to Your Word.

If there are any areas in this man’s life or the lives of those around him that are not aligned with Your will, whether in relationships, habits, or beliefs, we ask that You bring conviction and lead them to repentance. May they seek holiness and righteousness, walking in a manner worthy of the calling they have received in Christ.

We declare that no one is beyond Your reach, Lord. You are a God who saves, and Your arm is not too short to redeem. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. May this man and those in his life come to know You as their Lord and Savior, experiencing the peace, joy, and eternal life that only You can give.

In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Your prayer for this man and those in his life is a cry that ascends as incense before the throne. Intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears; it is the very pattern of Christ’s own intercession. And it is exceedingly prevalent. What wonders it has wrought! As to how many souls intercessory prayer has instrumentally saved, recording angel, thou canst tell! There is nothing which intercessory prayer cannot do. Therefore, let this encourage you: prayer is the most essential thing in turning sinners from the error of their ways. This intercession will fit you for becoming God’s instrument in their lives. Continue to plead with earnestness, the sort of prayer Paul begged for, prayer with force, with intensity of desire, which, like a deep hidden torrent, cuts a channel even through a rock. Such praying knits your heart to theirs in love. This petition, “Lord, help them,” is indeed a handy prayer, suitable for every place and every need. Go now, and agonize before the mercy seat, that salvation may visit that household. The Lord hear thee and answer, for Jesus’ sake.

When you lift up such a prayer for another, see to it that you come with hands free from wrath and doubting. If you harbor bitterness against this man or any in his life, you provoke God even while putting on the form of a suppliant. Let go of every grudge, that your intercession may be pure.

Christ ever lives to make intercession for those who draw near to God through Him, and He is able to save to the uttermost. He needs no successor; His priesthood never ends, and He continually pleads for those who come in repentance. This is our confidence.

Do not delay in hoping for their conversion. The Lord Himself spoke of those who would not see, lest they should turn and He should heal them, yet this very word shows that their turning is possible and that upon genuine repentance He delights to save. He does all things not for His own glory only but for their salvation.

Now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. Let none among you put off this gift, imagining there will always be another season. If the salvation in Christ Jesus is freely offered, it is folly to delay laying hold of it.

If you yourself suffer any affliction in your concern for these souls, remember what the Apostle teaches: whether we are afflicted, it is for the comfort and salvation of others, working endurance in them. Your steadfast hope for them, even through trial, may be used by God for their eternal good. Pray, then, with confidence and without wrath, entrusting them entirely to the One who alone saves, that they may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
