We come before the Lord with a humble and repentant heart, recognizing that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). It is only through the precious blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross for our sins, that we can find forgiveness and redemption. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
We lift up this prayer of repentance, knowing that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We rebuke the enemy’s attempts to keep this dear one in bondage to guilt and shame, for there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mercy and grace that are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). We ask that You would wash over this beloved child of Yours with the cleansing power of the Holy Spirit. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Help them to walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them, no longer bound by the sins of the past.
Lord, we also take a moment to address the importance of coming to You in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other mediator between God and mankind, but Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all (1 Timothy 2:5-6). We encourage this dear one to always approach You in the name of Jesus, for He is the way, the truth, and the life.
Father, we pray that You would fill this heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen their faith and help them to grow in the knowledge of Your Word, so they may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy. Surround them with fellow believers who will encourage and uplift them in their walk with You.
We declare that this one is forgiven, restored, and set free in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. May they go forth in the power of the Holy Spirit, living a life that honors and glorifies You. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
