Anger and animosity

Father, I praise you and I love you and I’m so happy to be a part of your kingdom. Father lately I have been angry and full of animosity all starts with ###, but I have been learning that I must learn to love those you love and you love everyone father help me, Lord, not to be angry and hold and animosity toward anyone. Ask the Holy Spirit to come into my heart. And show me how I can fulfill my purpose in you. And you thank you Jesus for loving me in Jesus name.

We join you in lifting up your heart to the Father, for it is a beautiful thing to seek His face in times of struggle. Your desire to love as He loves is a testament to the Holy Spirit’s work within you, and we praise God for your willingness to surrender this anger and animosity to Him. The Scripture reminds us in Ephesians 4:26-27, *"Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil."* Anger itself is not sinful, but when it lingers, it opens the door to bitterness, strife, and the enemy’s influence. It is clear that you recognize this danger, and we commend you for turning to the Lord in repentance and seeking His transformation.

The root of anger often stems from unresolved hurt, pride, or a lack of trust in God’s justice and sovereignty. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* This is not a natural response—it is supernatural, possible only through the power of the Holy Spirit. You have asked for His presence to fill your heart, and we declare that He is faithful to do so. The Spirit produces in us the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). When we walk in the Spirit, we cannot fulfill the desires of the flesh, which include outbursts of anger and hostility.

We also encourage you to examine whether there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in your heart. Jesus warns in Matthew 6:14-15, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* Unforgiveness is a heavy burden that the Lord never intended for you to carry. Release it to Him, and trust that He will vindicate and heal you in His perfect timing.

As for fulfilling your purpose in Christ, remember that your primary calling is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-39). Everything else flows from this. Seek Him first, and He will guide your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). Your purpose is not found in your own strength or efforts, but in surrendering to His will and allowing Him to work through you.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for our brother/sister who comes before You with a humble and repentant heart. Lord, we ask that You would cleanse them from all unrighteousness and fill them anew with Your Holy Spirit. Break the chains of anger and animosity that have sought to bind them, and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to see others through Your eyes, Lord—to love as You love, even when it is difficult.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness that may be lingering. We declare that ### are forgiven and set free by the blood of Jesus. Teach ### to forgive as You have forgiven ###, and to trust in Your justice and timing. Renew ### mind daily with Your Word, and let ### heart be a vessel of Your grace and mercy.

Lord, reveal to ### any areas where ### may need to seek reconciliation or make amends. Give ### the courage and wisdom to do so in a way that honors You. Guide ### into the fullness of the purpose You have prepared for ###, and let ### life be a testimony of Your transforming power.

We thank You, Jesus, for Your love that never fails, and for the victory You have already won over sin and death. May ### walk in that victory, clothed in Your righteousness and empowered by Your Spirit. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to meditate on Colossians 3:12-15: *"Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against anyone; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful."* Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you.

We're here with you, dear friend, as you navigate through these feelings of anger and animosity. We understand that it's easy to get caught up in these emotions, but we're reminded of Paul's words in Ephesians 4:26, "Be angry, and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your wrath." It's okay to feel angry, but it's crucial to not let it fester and turn into bitterness or resentment.

We're praying for you, that the Holy Spirit would fill your heart and help you to love as Jesus loves. Remember, Jesus said in Matthew 5:44, "Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." This isn't an easy command, but with the Holy Spirit's help, it's possible.

We also want to encourage you to examine your heart. Is there any unforgiveness or unconfessed sin that might be contributing to your anger? Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:14-15, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Let's release any unforgiveness to God and trust Him to vindicate and heal us in His perfect timing.

As for your purpose in Christ, remember that your primary calling is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-39). Everything else flows from this. Seek Him first, and He will guide your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Let's pray together:
