An update and prayer request please

Today I spoke to a legal aid agency and told them about the overcharges and rent arrears situation. they took my name and said that someone would call me back. They also advised me to go to the local courthouse and speak to attorneys. I thank the Lord for this open door. I just pray in Jesus name that the right attorney will be assigned to my case. Yesterday, I dealt with a very hostile and dismissive judge at my fair hearing who did not afford me the opportunity to fully address the agency violations in the prior remand window. The judge also adopted the property management numbers. So Father, you see and you know what the truth is. If it is your will next week I will see if an attorney can help me. I really pray that i get a good attorney and not have to deal with rudness and hostility.

We rejoice with you and thank the Lord with you for this open door with the legal aid agency, and we join you in prayer that He will guide every next step. We understand how discouraging it must have been to face a hostile and dismissive judge who would not fully hear you and who adopted the property management's numbers, but we take comfort that the Lord sees and knows the whole truth and He is the righteous Judge who never overlooks injustice.

We are encouraged by your faith as you commit this situation to the Father in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. As it is written, Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun. Psalm 37:5-6. We hold onto this promise for you, that even when earthly courts fail to hear, God hears and He will bring justice to light in His perfect timing.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for leading our dear one to this legal aid agency and for the opportunity to be called back and to seek counsel at the courthouse. We ask that You go before them next week and assign the right attorney to this case, an attorney with wisdom, integrity, compassion and diligence, who will listen carefully, understand the overcharges and rent arrears situation, and advocate faithfully. We pray that You grant this attorney favor and clarity, and that You prepare every document and detail needed. Lord, we ask that You soften hearts and remove hostility and rudeness from any person in authority over this case, and that You grant our dear one favor and a respectful hearing. Let Your justice be done, for it is written, Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow. Isaiah 1:17 and It is joy to the just to do justice. Proverbs 21:15. We trust You as the ultimate Judge who will judge the world in righteousness and who is a high tower for the oppressed in times of trouble. Psalm 9:8-9.

We also pray for Your peace to guard our dear one's heart in this stressful waiting. We pray as You have taught us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Help them to rest in the truth that You go with them and will not fail nor forsake them. Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6.

We encourage you to continue to be diligent as you have been, to keep careful records of all payments, notices, and agency violations, and to follow through at the courthouse as advised, while entrusting the outcome to the Lord. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. Even this difficult hearing and delay can be used by God for your good and for His glory.

We stand with you and will continue to pray that the Lord provides a good, kind and effective attorney, that truth prevails concerning the overcharges, and that you are met with fairness and respect in every future hearing. May the Lord grant you strength, hope and confidence in His unfailing justice. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

It means a lot that after a discouraging fair hearing you still saw the legal aid call as an open door from the Lord, and we join you in thanking Him for it. Facing a hostile and dismissive judge who did not let you fully speak and adopted the management's numbers would leave anyone feeling unheard, so it makes sense you are carrying that into next week and hoping for a very different experience with an attorney.

As you wait for a callback and plan to go to the courthouse, one steady step that often helps is to get everything in one folder while it is fresh. Keep your rent records, overcharge notes, hearing notices, the remand window paperwork, and a short written timeline of what happened at the hearing and what you were not able to address. Bring that folder and a photo ID to the courthouse and ask about timelines for a callback and what to do if you do not hear back in a few days. Having it written down can also make it easier to stay clear and calm if you meet with someone new.

We are praying for you now. Father, You see what happened in that hearing and You know the truth about these numbers and arrears. We ask for wisdom and favor as our friend seeks counsel, for the right attorney to be available, and for protection from rudeness and hostility in the next meetings. We thank the Lord with you for this open door through the legal aid agency and we join you in prayer that He who ordains our steps will direct you to the right counsel. It is a mercy to see His hand making a way where there was none, and we pray that as you go to the courthouse and seek further help, the Lord will provide an attorney who is competent, compassionate and just, one who will hear your cause with patience and plead it with integrity.

We sorrow with you over the trial of yesterday, that you met with hostility and dismissal and were not given full opportunity to speak, and that the numbers of the management were adopted against you. Remember that though an earthly judge may be hasty or partial, there is a High Court of Heaven where Christ Himself makes intercession for His people. He has spoken on behalf of poor sinners and He advocates their cause before the Father. The Lord sees and knows what the truth is, and He is the God of peace who brings order where there is confusion and who will in His time bring hidden things to light.

In this dark world of sin and in the press of thronging duties and cares, true peace is not found in favorable rulings or in the kindness of men, but in believing. The Scripture says, You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. And again, Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing. This peace is a present possession which may be enjoyed even when heart and flesh fail, for it is the peace of God which passes all understanding to keep the heart and mind through Christ Jesus. To do the will of Jesus, to trust His blood which whispers peace within, and to stay the mind upon Him, this is rest.

So we pray for you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that the Father Himself who loves you would clothe you with the garments of salvation and keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him. We ask that He would assign to you a good advocate, one who will deal with you with courtesy and diligence, and that He would give you favor and wisdom in every hearing. We ask that He would vindicate what is true concerning the overcharges and arrears, and that He would guard you from rudeness and hostility, giving you a calm and quiet spirit even under provocation. May the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, and fill the vacuum of care with a well founded peace in believing.

We will continue to bear you up before the throne, that you may be found in Him in peace at all times, and that whether the answer comes quickly or after waiting, you may taste and see that the peace of God is good.
