Amen

We join with you in this simple and sincere prayer for safety now and for eternity, and we bring your request before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name.

Your heart's desire to be kept safe always, even beyond death, and to go to the better side, reflects the hope God has placed in every heart for eternal life with Him. The Bible tells us that God is our refuge and protector in this life, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1, and The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul Psalm 121:7. Yet we also know that the better side you speak of is to be present with the Lord forever, for to be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord 2 Corinthians 5:8, and that promise is only made certain through faith in Jesus Christ.

We noticed your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and assurance of that better side. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16. Jesus also said, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies John 11:25. This is the assurance you are seeking, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9.

We pray together for you now, Father, we thank You for this tender heart that seeks Your protection and longs for eternal safety with You. We ask that You keep this one safe in Your hands each day, guarding their life and soul, and we pray that they would put their full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for their sins and rose again. Grant them the peace of knowing that through Jesus they have passed from death to life and that when this earthly life ends they will be welcomed into Your presence forever. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, with comfort and assurance, and help them to walk closely with You all their days. We ask this in the precious and only saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We hear how tender and honest your prayer is, asking God to keep you safe always and to bring you to the better side when you die. That desire to be safe forever and to be at home with Him is at the very center of what it means to be human, and we are honored to pray with you about it.

It is understandable to feel fear when you think about dying. Many people do, even quietly. Bringing that fear straight to God the way you just did is a good and brave thing. He is not distant from that worry and He welcomes you bringing it to Him again and again.

If this fear stays heavy on your heart, it can help to have one person nearby who knows you are carrying it, a pastor, a trusted friend or counselor from your church who can listen and pray with you face to face over time. You do not need to sort through these big questions alone.

We are carrying you in prayer now. Father, we lift our friend to You with thankfulness that You hear every Amen. Please give daily peace and a deep sense of being held by You, draw them close to Jesus and keep them in Your care both now and in the life to come. Lead them into quiet assurance of Your love. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, deliver, heal, save (those not saved) and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your prayer reaches after the one thing needful, to be safe not only in life but in death and beyond it, and to find yourself on the better side when this fleeting life is over. This is a wise and weighty desire, for there is indeed a better side, and there is a dark side, and the face of Jesus Christ will be Heaven to those who trust Him and terror to those who do not.

Know this, that safety after death is not found in a wish alone, but in a Person. Salvation is of the Lord. The plan of salvation was devised by God alone, and the work of salvation was carried out by God alone, and the keeping of the soul unto the end is of the Lord alone. Grace is the fountainhead of it all. Whatever your sin may be, its greatness only serves to illustrate the greater grace of God, but that grace comes to us in one way only.

Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. This is the whole machinery of salvation in plain terms, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, Christ dying and Christ raised from the dead, and live. You need not mount to Heaven in rapture, nor dive to Hell in remorse. As you are, believe and live.

The better side of which you speak is not merely a place of rest, but a place of presence. It is the chief blessing of Heaven, the cream of Heaven, that the saints shall there see Jesus. To be safe forever is to be without fault before the Throne of God, rid of sin and brought near through His precious blood, made complete in Him. Heaven must be in us before we can be in Heaven, and that begins here, by trusting Christ and receiving Him as all your salvation and all your desire.

Today is the day of salvation. Do not wait to seek this safety. Come now to Jesus as a sinner and cast yourself upon His finished work upon the cross. Confess your need, ask for His mercy, and trust that He who was slain has redeemed by His blood all who believe on Him. If you so believe, you are saved, kept by His power in life, kept in the narrow stream of death, and welcomed to see His face with joy.

May the Lord lead you to this simple faith, that you may know you are safe in His hands always, and that when He calls you hence, you shall be found in Christ, to dwell where He is and to behold His glory forever.
