Beloved of All
All day long they distort my words; All their thoughts are against me for evil. They stir up strife, they lurk; they watch my steps, as they have waited for my life. Psalm 56:5-6 Psalm 31:13 For I hear the slander of many; there is terror on every side. They conspire against me and plot to take my life. Psalm 41:7 All who hate me whisper against me; they imagine the worst for me: Psalm 64:2-6 Hide me from the scheming of the wicked, from the mob of workers of iniquity, / who sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows, / ambushing the innocent in seclusion, shooting suddenly, without fear. … Psalm 140:1-5 For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Rescue me, O LORD, from evil men. Protect me from men of violence, / who devise evil in their hearts and stir up war all day long. / They sharpen their tongues like snakes; the venom of vipers is on their lips. Psalm 51:1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your loving devotion; according to Your great compassion, blot out my transgressions. Psalm 59:1 For the choirmaster. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A Miktam of David, when Saul sent men to watch David’s house in order to kill him. Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; protect me from those who rise against me. Psalm 27:12 Do not hand me over to the will of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, breathing out violence. For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Hear, O God, my voice of complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy. Psalm 31:15 My times are in Your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me. Psalm 43:1 Judge me, O God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man. Psalm 71:4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. Psalm 140:4,11 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings… “Help, Lord, for no one is faithful anymore; those who are loyal have vanished from the human race. Everyone lies to their neighbor; they flatter with their lips but harbor deception in their hearts. May the Lord silence all flattering lips and every boastful tongue— those who say, “By our tongues we will prevail; our own lips will defend us—who is Lord over us?” “Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the Lord. “I will protect them from those who malign them.” And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times. You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked, who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭ Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed. Psalm 6:2 Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eyes fail from sorrow, my soul and body as well. 10For my life is consumed with grief and my years with groaning; my iniquity has drained my strength, and my bones are wasting away. 11Among all my enemies I am a disgrace, and among my neighbors even more. I am dreaded by my friends—they flee when they see me on the street.…

We stand with you in this season of deep distress, where the weight of slander, conspiracy, and malice presses heavily upon your spirit. The psalms you’ve shared reveal a heart acquainted with betrayal and the sting of wicked schemes, and we recognize the cry of David’s soul mirrored in your own, pleading for refuge, vindication, and the mercy of the Lord. You are not alone in this battle, for the same God who delivered David from the snares of Saul and the venom of his enemies is your strong tower today.

First, we must address the reality of spiritual warfare at work here. The enemy seeks to isolate, discourage, and destroy, using the tongues of men as arrows and the whispers of the wicked as snares (Psalm 64:3-4). But Scripture declares that "no weapon formed against you shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17), and that the Lord is a "shield for all those who take refuge in Him" (Psalm 18:30). The schemes of the enemy are real, but they are not ultimate. We rebuke the spirit of strife, slander, and deception that has been unleashed against you, and we declare that the Lord will expose every lie and thwart every plot designed to harm you. The psalmist’s cry, "Let them be put to shame and confusion who seek after my life!" (Psalm 40:14), is our prayer over you now.

Yet we must also examine the condition of the heart in this trial. The psalms you’ve shared reveal not only external persecution but also the inner turmoil of a soul wrestling with grief, weakness, and even a sense of abandonment. David often poured out his lament before the Lord, but he also repeatedly turned his gaze back to God’s character, His mercy, His faithfulness, His justice. In Psalm 6:2, you cry out for healing, and in Psalm 31:9-10, you acknowledge the toll of sorrow on your body and spirit. We echo your plea: "O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled" (Psalm 6:2). But we also remind you that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Even in the valley of the shadow of death, He is with you (Psalm 23:4).

We must also address the matter of forgiveness and bitterness. The psalms you’ve shared are filled with raw honesty about the pain of betrayal, but we must guard our hearts from harboring bitterness, which only gives the enemy a foothold (Ephesians 4:26-27). Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors" (Matthew 6:12), and He warned that if we do not forgive others, neither will our Father forgive us (Matthew 6:15). This does not mean the wickedness done against you is excused, but it does mean that you must release the offenders to God’s justice rather than allowing their actions to poison your soul. Vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and He will repay.

Now, we lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is enduring the weight of slander, conspiracy, and malice. You see every lie spoken against them, every scheme devised in darkness, and every arrow aimed at their life. We ask that You would be their refuge and fortress, a shield against the enemy’s attacks. Lord, expose the hidden works of darkness and bring every deceitful tongue to silence. Let those who plot evil against Your servant be put to shame, and let Your justice prevail.

We pray for healing, spirit, soul, and body. The psalmist cries out for mercy, and we echo that cry. Where there is weakness, strengthen. Where there is sorrow, comfort. Where there is fear, replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Restore their joy, Lord, and renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31).

We ask that You would guard their heart from bitterness and resentment. Give them the grace to forgive, even as You have forgiven them. Help them to entrust their cause to You, knowing that You are a righteous Judge who sees all and will vindicate the innocent.

Father, we declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper. You are their defender, their strong tower, and their deliverer. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the One who has conquered sin and death, and the One in whom we find our victory. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your glory be revealed. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to cling to the promises of God’s Word. Meditate on Psalm 91, which declares that those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High will abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Memorize verses that speak of God’s protection and justice, and let them be a balm to your soul. Surround yourself with godly believers who can pray with you and encourage you, for iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). And remember, the same God who delivered David from Goliath, from Saul, and from all his enemies is the same God who is fighting for you today. You are not forsaken. You are not forgotten. You are deeply loved by the One who holds all things in His hands.

Oh, sister and brother in Christ, we feel your heart breaking through these words, it’s heavy with the weight of being watched, maligned, and surrounded by those who seem to delight in stirring up trouble. There’s something so raw and honest in the way you’ve laid this out, and it speaks to the depth of your trust in God’s Word. We see how you’re clinging to those psalms like lifelines, and we want you to know that we’re standing with you in that same desperate, hopeful faith.

First, let’s fix our eyes on what the Lord has already done. You’re not just fighting against people, you’re fighting for the truth, for integrity, for a name that hasn’t been tarnished by lies. The enemy may sharpen their tongues like snakes, but we know the Lord Jesus turned even the most venomous words into opportunities for salvation (Matthew 27:43-44). He didn’t let the cruelty of the cross define His mission; He used it. So we declare over you: the Lord is turning the schemes of your enemies into testimonies of His faithfulness. The lies they whisper will be exposed, and the truth you hold will stand unshaken.

But we also hear the weariness in your voice, the exhaustion of carrying so much alone. You’re not just fighting a battle; you’re carrying the weight of it. The Lord sees how your bones ache, how your soul is weary, and how the world feels like it’s closing in. We’re praying right now that He would wrap His arms around you like a father comforting a child. Let Him be your refuge, your strength, your very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We’re asking the Lord to remind you, in the quiet moments, that you’re not just enduring, you’re being prepared. Every trial you face is refining you, making you more like Christ (James 1:2-4). So when the world fades, let His presence fill the space.

And oh, how we pray for your heart. It’s easy to let bitterness take root when you’re surrounded by those who seem to delight in your pain. But Jesus didn’t come to save us so we could become bitter; He came to save us so we could become like Him, full of grace, full of love, full of forgiveness. We’re not asking you to forget what’s been done to you; we’re asking you to let God handle the justice. Trust Him to repay in kind (Romans 12:19). In the meantime, let His love wash over you like a river, washing away the bitterness and replacing it with peace.

We’re lifting you up right now, asking the Lord to:
- Expose every lie spoken against you and turn it into a witness for His truth.
- Strengthen your spirit so that even when the world feels against you, you stand firm in His promises.
- Surround you with His angels to guard your steps and protect your peace.
- Fill your heart with His joy, the kind that doesn’t depend on circumstances but on His presence alone.

You’re not forgotten. You’re not alone. And the God who holds the stars in His hands is fighting for you. We’re cheering you on, praying you up, and holding you close in prayer. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and let His light shine through you, even in the darkest days. In Jesus’ name, we declare victory is coming.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
