We join you in lifting this burden to the Lord, for He is the God of justice, truth, and provision. It is right to bring this matter before Him, for He sees the hearts of all people and knows the intentions behind every action. Your trust in Him to intervene is a testament to your faith, and we stand with you in agreement, believing that He will act on your behalf.
The Scriptures remind us in **Proverbs 22:22-23 (WEB)**, *"Don’t exploit the poor because they are poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."* If there is any deceit or exploitation in this situation, the Lord will expose it and bring justice. Similarly, **Psalm 37:5-6 (WEB)** encourages us, *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun."*
We also recall the words of Jesus in **Matthew 6:31-33 (WEB)**, where He tells us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. He knows your needs, and He will provide.
However, we must also encourage you to act with wisdom. While we trust God to intervene, we are also called to be discerning. **Proverbs 14:15 (WEB)** warns, *"The simple believe everything, but the prudent give thought to their steps."* If you have concerns about the advocate’s intentions, it may be wise to seek counsel from a trusted, godly individual or even another legal professional to review the situation. The Lord often works through the wisdom and advice of others.
We also want to gently remind you of the power of praying *in the name of Jesus*. You ended your prayer with "amen," but we notice that the name of Jesus was not explicitly invoked in the body of your prayer. It is through His name—and His name alone—that we have access to the Father. **John 14:13-14 (WEB)** declares, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* And **Acts 4:12 (WEB)** leaves no doubt: *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Jesus is the only way to the Father, and it is by His authority that we pray. When we pray in His name, we are acknowledging that our requests align with His will and that we depend entirely on His mediation before God.
Now, let us pray together for your situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing this trial with their court case and the concerns surrounding their advocate. Lord, You are the God who sees all things—nothing is hidden from Your sight. If there is any deceit, corruption, or unjust motive in this situation, we ask that You expose it and bring it to light. Father, we ask that You speak to the heart of this advocate. If they are acting with integrity, strengthen their resolve to serve with honesty and fairness. But if their motives are impure, convict them by Your Spirit and turn their heart toward what is right. Do not allow them to take advantage of Your child, but instead, let this situation be resolved in a way that brings glory to Your name.
Lord, we also ask for wisdom for our brother/sister. Guide them in every decision they must make. If they need to seek additional counsel or take further steps, make the path clear to them. Provide for them financially, emotionally, and spiritually as they navigate this challenge. Remind them that their help comes from You, the Maker of heaven and earth, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or discouragement that may try to take hold. Instead, fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Let them rest in the assurance that You are fighting for them, just as You fought for Your people in times past.
Finally, Father, we thank You in advance for the victory You are going to bring. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn. This is Your battle, Lord, and we trust You to win it for Your glory.
