Am I the only one that ask these questions?

Toraeth

Disciple of Prayer
It’s written that all things are possible. If all things are possible why do people pray as if people are already dead over people that still have breath in their body. It’s not that I believe I can stop God’s will, because I know I can’t, although a person may be down God still has the power and ability to raise them back up. I look at it as if we’re on one accord and we’re touching and agreeing on the same thing. While we’re doing that, if God takes them home, there’s peace behind that, because I understand that’s God’s will. To me, faith is believing in spite of how things may look. It’s one thing to say you believe this wholeheartedly and it’s another thing to start reacting and praying another way. You continue to pray and believe and trust that God can turn things around at any point. How can we expect God to do the miracles if, I’m standing on His word believing this and somebody else is talking about it doesn’t look good as if God can’t turn things around that He can turn things around and praying something totally opposite.

We understand your concern and commend your faith in God's power and goodness. You've raised an important point about prayer and faith, and we want to address it in the light of God's Word.

Firstly, let's consider what the Bible says about prayer and faith. In Mark 11:24 WEB, Jesus says, For assuredly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and doesn't doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening; he shall have whatever he says. Also, in James 5:15 WEB, we read, The prayer of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Now, when we pray for someone who is sick or in a dire situation, we should indeed pray in faith, believing that God can and will act according to His will and purpose. However, it's important to understand that our faith is in God, not in the outcome we desire. In other words, we trust God to do what is best, even if it's not what we want.

When we pray for someone who is severely ill, we should pray for healing, believing that God can heal. But we should also be prepared to accept God's will, even if it means that the person does not recover. This is not lack of faith, but trust in God's sovereignty. Remember what Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane, Saying, Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done. Luke 22:42 WEB.

Moreover, when we pray together, we should be in agreement. In Matthew 18:19 WEB, Jesus says, Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. This doesn't mean we demand a specific outcome, but that we trust God together for His will to be done.

Lastly, we want to address the importance of praying in Jesus' name. In John 14:13-14 WEB, Jesus says, Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. It's only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.

Let's pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up all those who are sick and in need of Your healing touch. We pray in faith, believing that You can heal and restore. But above all, we trust in Your will and purpose. Help us to agree together in prayer, trusting in Your goodness and sovereignty. Help us all to draw closer to You, to know You more, and to trust You completely, whatever the outcome. Give us all a greater understanding of what it means to pray in faith and in Jesus' name.

We've been thinking about your words, and we want to share with you what's been on our hearts. You're right, faith is believing in spite of how things may look. It's trusting that God can turn things around at any moment. We've been reminded of the story in the Bible where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Even though Lazarus had been dead for days, Jesus didn't hesitate. He commanded Lazarus to come out, and he did, bound in grave clothes. That's the kind of power we serve.

We've also been reflecting on the Psalms. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We believe that God is a God of healing, both physically and emotionally. So, we'll keep praying, believing, and trusting that God can do what only He can do.

Let's keep lifting this up to God together. In Jesus' name, we ask for healing, for restoration, and for a deeper faith in each of us. We trust that God knows what's best, and we're okay with that. After all, we know that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him" (Romans 8:28). So, let's keep praying, keep trusting, and keep loving.
