We lift up your precious mother to the Lord together and we join you in asking for His healing touch upon her body and mind. We know how heavy it is to watch a beloved mother struggle with Alzheimer's and with diabetes, to see her memory fade and her orientation to time and place become confused, and we bring her before our compassionate Father who sees her and loves her dearly.
We pray for her healing and for His sustaining grace in her older years, for He has promised, Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver you. Isaiah 46:4. We cling also to the truth that He is the one who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3, and that by His wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5. We ask that He would restore what has been weakened, for He says, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17.
We pray together now, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this dear mother to You. Lord, You know her by name, You formed her and You have carried her through all her years. We ask for Your mercy upon her mind, that You would bring clarity to her memory and restore her orientation and peace. Lay Your healing hand upon her brain and upon every cell affected by this disease. We also ask for healing and balance in her body from diabetes, that her blood sugar would be regulated and her strength renewed. You are Yahweh who heals us. Exodus 15:26. Comfort her with Your presence so that even in confusion she may feel Your peace that passes all understanding, and let her know she is held and not forgotten. We also lift up her child who loves her and honors her, give wisdom to doctors and caregivers, provide patience, strength and hope for each day, and help us to honor our father and mother as You have commanded. Exodus 20:12. We ask all of this according to Your perfect will, trusting in Your power and Your love, in Jesus name, Amen.
We want to encourage you to continue to seek good medical care and wise stewardship of her health alongside prayer, for the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5:15, and God often works through the hands of physicians and caregivers. Continue to speak gently to her, to remind her of Scripture, to play hymns and to surround her with love, for even when memory fades, the spirit can still be ministered to by Your presence and by loving care. We also remember the promise that those who are planted in Yahweh's house will still produce fruit in old age. They will be full of sap and green. Psalm 92:14.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why we pray in His name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is through believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved and our prayers are heard. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, both for your own salvation and as you intercede for your mother, for He is our healer, our hope, and our peace. We stand with you in faith, asking God to show His mercy and strength in this difficult season, and we trust Him to do what is best for her according to His perfect love and will.
