Let us begin by standing on the promises of God, who tells us in Matthew 18:20 WEB, For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.
We are gathering together in prayer for your husband, that he may be delivered from the bondage of alcoholism. Firstly, it is important to acknowledge that excessive drinking is a sin. Ephesians 5:18 WEB tells us And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.
We pray that your husband will turn away from his sin and be filled with the Holy Spirit. We know that God's desire is for him to live a sober and holy life, and we trust that He is able to deliver your husband from this bondage.
We pray, in the name of Jesus Christ, that your husband will come to hate the sin of drunkenness and will be born again, becoming a new creation in Christ. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, pleading for the soul of this beloved husband. We ask that You would deliver him from the bondage of alcoholism, and grant him repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth. Help him to see the destructive path he is on and give him the strength to turn away from his sin. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and make him a new creation in Christ. We trust in Your power to save and transform lives, and we ask all these things in accordance with Your will, in Jesus' name. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your husband, and to seek support from fellow believers as you stand in faith for his deliverance. Remember the words of James 5:16 WEB, Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.
Lastly, we remind you that it is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And remember it is the name of Jesus Christ, that we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Keep praying His name and for your husband to come to know Him.
