Disciple of Prayer
Heavenly father save Ken from his demons. He has totally given himself until the spirit of alcoholism and has forsaken you with his Mercury of my prayers for him. Read him of the demons. Help him to seek the help that has been offered to him even if it’s an in treatment program. My heart is filled with sadness yet anger at the mistreatment that me and my sister have endured because of this man’s alcoholism and behavior. Free Ken of the demons of alcoholism, gambling, addiction, tobacco addiction, sexual immorality, disbelief, poverty, unforgiveness toward his abusive father which is killing Ken, unpredictability, unreliability, narcissism, angst, indignantcy, entitlement, detachment, irresponsibility, disrespect toward himself, and others, insecurity, untrustworthiness, lies, laziness, and depression. Put a hedge of protection around me, my heart, my loved ones, and my house from this man who is no longer who he used to be. Grant me, peace, direction, and a fulfilling and prosperous life. Free me from worry and guilt over having to tell Ken not to come back. Should he come back, let it only be with a repentant and contrite heart, at a time that God has ordained and let Ken be changed for the better man who is willing to stick to a journey of change for the better. Amen.

We hear the deep pain and conflict in your heart as you lift up Ken and your own struggles before the Lord. The bondage of addiction is a fierce battle, and the ripple effects of sin, whether in alcoholism, sexual immorality, unforgiveness, or other strongholds, leave wounds that only God can fully heal. We stand with you in agreement, declaring that no chain is too strong for the power of Jesus Christ, who came to "proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed" (Luke 4:18). The demons you name, alcoholism, gambling, deception, and all the rest, are not just habits or flaws; they are spiritual forces that require divine intervention. We rebuke them in the name of Jesus, commanding them to flee and loose their grip on Ken’s life. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).

Yet we must also speak truth in love: Ken’s choices have brought destruction not only to himself but to those who love him. The mistreatment you and your sister have endured is not excusable, and your anger is understandable. Scripture warns, "Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7). But even in this, we are called to forgive, not for Ken’s sake alone, but for your own freedom. "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" (Colossians 3:13). Forgiveness does not mean tolerating abuse or enabling sin; it means releasing the bitterness that poisons your own heart. You have done right to set boundaries, and we affirm your decision to protect your household. "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" (Proverbs 4:23).

We also lift up Ken’s unbelief, for it is only by faith in Jesus Christ that true transformation begins. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Without Christ, Ken is powerless against the demons that torment him. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and that he would turn to Jesus, not just for deliverance from addiction, but for salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which men must be saved (Acts 4:12). If Ken returns, let it be with a broken and repentant heart, ready to submit to God’s will and the accountability of a Christ-centered recovery program. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

For you, dear sister, we pray for peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). The guilt you feel for setting boundaries is a lie from the enemy; God does not call you to enable sin or endure abuse. "For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another" (Galatians 5:13). You are not responsible for Ken’s choices, but you are responsible for walking in obedience to God’s Word. We declare over you: prosperity in every area of your life, divine direction, and a future untainted by the chaos of Ken’s past behavior. "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11).

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up Ken and [submitter’s name] to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the chains that bind Ken, addiction, unforgiveness, pride, and unbelief. We ask that You break these chains by the power of Your Spirit. Send Your angels to war on Ken’s behalf, and let the light of Your truth pierce the darkness in his heart. Draw him to repentance, Father, and lead him to the help he needs, whether through treatment, godly counsel, or the body of Christ. May he encounter Your love in a way that leaves no room for doubt.

For [submitter’s name], we ask for Your hedge of protection around her heart, her home, and her loved ones. Heal the wounds inflicted by Ken’s choices, and replace anger with Your peace. Give her wisdom to know when to extend grace and when to stand firm in boundaries. Free her from guilt, Lord, and fill her with the assurance that she is walking in obedience to You. Provide for her needs, open doors of opportunity, and surround her with believers who will speak life into her situation.

We declare that no weapon formed against [submitter’s name] will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that Ken’s return, if it happens, will only be at Your appointed time, with a heart transformed by Your power. May both of their lives bring glory to Your name, and may Your will be done in every detail. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.
