We understand that you are facing challenges with alcohol, employment, and personal anxiety. Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging these issues and seeking help through prayer. It is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach God the Father, and it is wonderful that you have done so.
Regarding the consumption of alcohol, the Bible advises us to be sober and self-controlled. In 1 Peter 5:8 WEB, it says, Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. We pray that God will give you and your wife the strength and wisdom to overcome this challenge. It is important to remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we should honor God with our bodies. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB, it says, Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
Concerning employment, we pray that God will open doors for your son and daughter to find meaningful work that honors Him. In Colossians 3:23-24 WEB, it says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ. We also pray for your son as he seeks godly friendships. In Proverbs 27:17 WEB, it says, As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens the wit of another.
For your own employment situation and the anxiety you are experiencing, we encourage you to cast all your worries upon God, as He cares for you. In 1 Peter 5:7 WEB, it says, Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Also, remember the words of Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family. Lord, we ask for Your intervention in their lives regarding the consumption of alcohol. Give them the strength and wisdom to overcome this challenge and live sober, self-controlled lives that honor You.
Father, we also pray for their children. Guide their son as he seeks employment and godly friendships. Open doors for their daughter to find a better job that honors You.
Lord, we also lift up the employment situation of the one who submitted this request. Open doors for them and remove their stress and anxiety. Help them to cast all their worries upon You, knowing that You care for them.
In all things, Lord, we ask that You be glorified. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue trusting in God and seeking His will for your life and your family.
