Humble Prayer Warrior
There is power in prayer (James 5:16)!

In August 2022, my job in Alaska was complete and I had secured a new job in Texas teaching school.

My sons and I left for Texas to set up our new home and to start my new job. My wife and daughter had tickets to go overseas to visit family.

After my sons and I left Alaska, my wife hired an attorney, and they went to court and convinced the judge that I had stolen the children and took them across state lines. There was no mention of plane tickets or trips overseas… I was 5000 miles away and knew nothing.

In late September 2022, my wife and a sister in Christ flew from Alaska to Texas and stole my children. I have not seen any of my children since then. It was one of the saddest days of my life.

I bet I have prayed over 1 million times. At one time, I had brother praying in seven countries and seven different states.

Finally, in August 2024, God answered one of my prayers; he opened up a door for me to go back to Alaska. I went. I had no place to live and no car to drive but I went. I must’ve quoted. I’m walking by faith and not by sight 300 times on the plane.

The next year was incredibly tough. I lost two really good jobs due to no fault of my own. I was homeless and lived in the shelter in the back of my van. I almost died on a mountain top when I got locked out of my car and -23°F.

My faith remain strong! My love for God grew day by day as I endured the trials that I faced with his help. I read the psalms every month and sometimes more than once my prayer life continue to be strong with prayers all throughout the day. I truly was praying without ceasing.

Every birthday was difficult. Every holiday was very difficult. Every place that I drove by was difficult that reminded me of things we’ve done previous.

I knew my daughter‘s birthday would be difficult. She was turning 18 on December 15 the previous May I’d happen across her email address times to, but I had not use those addresses and trying to contact her.

The day before her 18th birthday, I took a nap and I had a dream. I woke up from my nap and there was something within me that was telling me to send her a birthday. Wish to the emails that I had found several months prior. I did. I wrote a very short message to her telling her that I think about her every day and I hope she had a great birthday.

Today, is 18 December. I got back from doing gig work and I looked at my email and there was an email from her likewise, it was very brief but she said thank you and she hoped that I was doing well.

My heart sank.

I miss her terribly. I am still trying to digest everything going through my mind after seeing her words. There’s part of me that wants to write her alone message telling her how much I care about her and miss her and asking questions, etc. however, I will refrain..

In the last three years, I have done nothing evil to my wife in anyway. I must’ve prayed for her 1 million times. I have prayed fervently for reconciliation, and that God would work.

So, since I have waited this long, praying firmly for her and reconciliation of my marriage and family. That’s what I will continue to do. I will wait on God.

My heart aches, but I’m confident that God brought me back to Alaska.

Moose

I have mentioned previously, my love for moose. Next to the rain, seeing a moose, gives me a lot of joy and comfort and strength.

Each time it rains, I “act 14:17. I mean every single time. The rain gives me so much strength. Up here in Alaska, there is not much train for eight months of the year because any moisture will be in the form of snow. So these days, I get a lot of strength by seeing a moose.

In the last week or so, I have seen four moose. Moose are not everywhere. One could go many months without seeing a moose. Yet, I have seen four in the last week or so.

Yesterday, a friend asked me to give him a ride to work because he was having car issues. So, I braved the -33°F weather and went and picked him up and took him to work. As I was leaving the office where he worked, I looked across the road, and there was a huge moose underneath the tree next to our house I was amazed! I was filled with so much joy and strength.

Why?

I was amazed that through God‘s Providence, he helped me see that moose. I am 1000% convinced that God took me to that location and at the exact right moment that I was leaving the parking lot across the street was a moose underneath the tree. I ended up following that moose for the next 10 minutes Watching him from a relatively close distance as he navigate the snow looking for his next bite to eat I was amazed.

Last Sunday, I was doing some gig work and an order took me down a road that I’ve never been down before. It was a beautiful drive with Kirby roads, tall, spruce trees, and birch trees, and magnificent piles of snow as I turned the corner there probably half a mile down the road was a moose standing right in the middle of the road. As I approach the moose, there was another moose on the right side of the road that quickly darted away. So, I saw too Again, I’m convinced that God brought me down that road because God knew there was a moose there that would give me strength.

I stand amazed!!

I’ll tell you another story that happened last night that was pretty interesting.

On December 29, 2024, I went to a place called Murphy Dome, which is a really really large hill or small mountain to worship God. It was Sunday and I wanted to take the Lord‘s supper in the midst of the beautiful sunset near Denali. It was so pretty up there. I waited for the sun to get right behind Denali. The whole time I was praying and praising God in my mind and heart.

I got out of the van. Again, it was -23°F. I went back to the van and the door was locked, and I could not get back in. Long story short, I ran down the hill after trying to break the window, and there were two really pretty women in an older truck a very nice truck. They let me sit in their backseat and get warm And then they took me up to the van and they help me figure out a way to get in. Without them, I may very well be dead. I’ve wondered if they were angels put there by God to save me from the bitter cold.

Last night, I was delivering my last order. The order was up in the hills away from the city. The temperature was about -33°F as I turned onto a road going up the hill I almost ran to the back of a small SUV. There were no lights on. I rolled down my window and talked to the girl that was looking underneath the hood and encouraged her to put the lights on, so no one would hit her. She told me that her vehicle had no power.

I thought she was talking to her father on the phone. I told her that when I came back down the hill I would check on her and the other girl that was with her. I went to go deliver the goods and when I got up there three or 4 miles away I was worried about those two girls. Maybe they had been there in that cold weather for sometime and they had no warm car to get in and warm up. I panicked and quickly drove my vehicle back down the hill to their location there they were standing there outside the car.

I asked them if they were cold and they said yes. Later, I’d learned they’ve been out there for about an hour and -33°F. I asked him if they wanted to sit in my car and they said yes I’ll let them go sit in the car. I asked her permission to take a look at the vehicle and see if I could see anything wrong. They said yes. I looked at the vehicle but could not see anything obvious that could be fixed Immediately

I asked the girls if they would like for me to take them somewhere and I would wherever they wanted to go. One girl wanted to go up the hill to get some glasses and then together the two girls would go to their house over in town. So, I took the girl up the hill and she got her glasses and then I took both of them to their house near the hospital in town. When I say girls, I’m guessing they were both in there Mid 20s maybe 24 or 25. They were very cold and thankful that they could sit in a warm car.

Sometimes people in the lower 48 have no idea what -33°F feels like. I often tell people to go take a cold shower and then go climb in the freezer and sit there for a while.

I really felt good that I was able to help these two women. I even offered to take them to the store they needed anything before going home. I gave the one girl my phone number and told her that in the morning I was often driving around the area doing gig work and if she needed anything to let me know, and I would give her a ride where she needed to go. I did not hear from her.

I tell the story because I’ve wondered about the Providence of God. God knew that those two young women were broken down on a very dark, desolate road and very cold temperatures. God used me that night to go and help them I think.

In view of Hebrews 13:2, I wondered if they were angels

We hear your heart, brother, and the depth of your pain and longing is palpable. The trials you have endured—separation from your children, the betrayal of your marriage, homelessness, and the physical dangers of Alaska’s wilderness—are heavy burdens to carry. Yet, your faith has not wavered, and your love for God has only grown stronger through the fire. This is a testimony to the refining work of the Holy Spirit in your life, and we stand in awe of your perseverance.

First, we must address the brokenness of your marriage and family with truth and love. The actions of your wife in taking your children and manipulating the legal system to paint you as a kidnapper are grievous sins. Scripture is clear: *"Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church"* (Ephesians 5:22-23). This does not justify abuse or tyranny, but it does establish God’s design for marriage as a covenant of mutual submission, love, and respect. Your wife’s actions violate this covenant, and we must rebuke the deception and ungodliness that led to this fracture. Yet, we also acknowledge that marriage is sacred, and reconciliation—when pursued in righteousness—is a godly desire. *"If possible, as far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men"* (Romans 12:18). You have done your part by praying fervently, waiting patiently, and refusing to retaliate. Now, we must trust God to move in ways only He can.

Your daughter’s brief but precious response is a glimmer of hope, a tender mercy from the Lord. We rejoice with you in this small but significant answer to prayer. Yet, we caution you to proceed with wisdom. The wounds of separation are deep, and rushing to pour out your heart may overwhelm her. Instead, let your actions speak louder than words. Continue to pray for her, love her from afar, and trust that God is working in her life. *"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). She is now an adult, and the Lord may be preparing her heart to seek you out in His timing. Until then, guard your heart and lean on Him.

Your stories of God’s provision through the moose and the rain are beautiful reminders of His nearness. *"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands"* (Psalm 19:1). In the vastness of Alaska, where isolation can feel overwhelming, God has met you in the details—a moose under a tree, a rainstorm, a sunset over Denali. These are not coincidences; they are love letters from your Father, reminding you that He sees you, knows your pain, and is with you. Your gratitude for these moments is a testament to a heart that seeks God even in the wilderness.

The encounter with the two women on the frozen road is a powerful example of God’s providence. *"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it"* (Hebrews 13:2). Whether they were angels or simply daughters of God in need, you were the hands and feet of Christ that night. Your kindness in the face of extreme cold reflects the love of Jesus, who came not to be served, but to serve. This is the heart of the gospel, and your actions preached it louder than words.

Now, we lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy for our brother, yet filled with awe at Your faithfulness in his life. Lord, You have sustained him through unimaginable trials—separation from his children, the betrayal of his marriage, homelessness, and the dangers of the Alaskan wilderness. Yet, his faith has not wavered. We thank You for the ways You have met him in the small things: the moose, the rain, the kindness of strangers. These are reminders that You are near, even when the path is dark.

Father, we pray for his marriage. We rebuke the deception and ungodliness that have torn this family apart. We ask that You would soften his wife’s heart, that she would repent of her actions and seek reconciliation in a way that honors You. If it is Your will, restore this marriage, Lord. Let Your love and truth prevail. If not, give our brother the strength to release his wife into Your hands, trusting that You will judge righteously.

We pray for his children, especially his daughter. Lord, she has carried the weight of this separation, and we ask that You would heal her heart. Draw her to Yourself, and if it is Your will, draw her back to her father. Give her the courage to seek truth and the wisdom to discern Your voice. Protect her from bitterness and fill her with Your peace.

Father, we ask for provision and stability for our brother. You have brought him back to Alaska, and we trust that this is part of Your plan. Open doors for steady work, safe housing, and community. Surround him with believers who will encourage and support him. Strengthen his body, mind, and spirit as he continues to endure the cold and the challenges of this season.

Lord, we thank You for his faithfulness in prayer. May his example inspire others to persevere in seeking You, even when answers seem distant. Fill him with Your joy, even in the midst of sorrow. Remind him daily that You are working all things together for his good, even when the path is unclear.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who endured the cross for our sake and now sits at Your right hand, interceding for us. Amen.

Brother, your story is a testament to the power of faith in the face of unimaginable trials. You have not given up, and God has not forgotten you. The same God who parted the Red Sea, who raised Jesus from the dead, and who sustains the universe by the word of His power is the God who walks with you. Keep your eyes on Him. Continue to pray without ceasing, to love without condition, and to trust without wavering. The Lord is your Shepherd, and He will lead you through this valley. *"Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy"* (Psalm 126:5). Your tears have not been in vain. Hold fast to hope, for the God of all comfort is with you.

Dear brother,

I hope this message finds you well. I've been thinking about your situation and wanted to reach out to you with some encouragement and prayer.

Firstly, I want to commend you for your unwavering faith and resilience in the face of such great trials. It's truly inspiring to see how you've trusted God through it all, and I believe your story is a testament to the power of faith in action.

I want to echo the previous prayer for your marriage and family. I join you in praying for reconciliation, but ultimately, we trust that God's will be done. If it's His will, may your wife's heart be softened, and may she seek reconciliation in a way that honors Him. If not, may you have the strength to release her into God's hands, trusting that He will judge righteously.

Your daughter's brief response was indeed a glimmer of hope. Let's continue to pray for her, that she would seek you out in God's timing. Until then, guard your heart and lean on Him.
