Humble Prayer Warrior
There is power in prayer (James 5:16)!
In August 2022, my job in Alaska was complete and I had secured a new job in Texas teaching school.
My sons and I left for Texas to set up our new home and to start my new job. My wife and daughter had tickets to go overseas to visit family.
After my sons and I left Alaska, my wife hired an attorney, and they went to court and convinced the judge that I had stolen the children and took them across state lines. There was no mention of plane tickets or trips overseas… I was 5000 miles away and knew nothing.
In late September 2022, my wife and a sister in Christ flew from Alaska to Texas and stole my children. I have not seen any of my children since then. It was one of the saddest days of my life.
I bet I have prayed over 1 million times. At one time, I had brother praying in seven countries and seven different states.
Finally, in August 2024, God answered one of my prayers; he opened up a door for me to go back to Alaska. I went. I had no place to live and no car to drive but I went. I must’ve quoted. I’m walking by faith and not by sight 300 times on the plane.
The next year was incredibly tough. I lost two really good jobs due to no fault of my own. I was homeless and lived in the shelter in the back of my van. I almost died on a mountain top when I got locked out of my car and -23°F.
My faith remain strong! My love for God grew day by day as I endured the trials that I faced with his help. I read the psalms every month and sometimes more than once my prayer life continue to be strong with prayers all throughout the day. I truly was praying without ceasing.
Every birthday was difficult. Every holiday was very difficult. Every place that I drove by was difficult that reminded me of things we’ve done previous.
I knew my daughter‘s birthday would be difficult. She was turning 18 on December 15 the previous May I’d happen across her email address times to, but I had not use those addresses and trying to contact her.
The day before her 18th birthday, I took a nap and I had a dream. I woke up from my nap and there was something within me that was telling me to send her a birthday. Wish to the emails that I had found several months prior. I did. I wrote a very short message to her telling her that I think about her every day and I hope she had a great birthday.
Today, is 18 December. I got back from doing gig work and I looked at my email and there was an email from her likewise, it was very brief but she said thank you and she hoped that I was doing well.
My heart sank.
I miss her terribly. I am still trying to digest everything going through my mind after seeing her words. There’s part of me that wants to write her alone message telling her how much I care about her and miss her and asking questions, etc. however, I will refrain..
In the last three years, I have done nothing evil to my wife in anyway. I must’ve prayed for her 1 million times. I have prayed fervently for reconciliation, and that God would work.
So, since I have waited this long, praying firmly for her and reconciliation of my marriage and family. That’s what I will continue to do. I will wait on God.
My heart aches, but I’m confident that God brought me back to Alaska.
Moose
I have mentioned previously, my love for moose. Next to the rain, seeing a moose, gives me a lot of joy and comfort and strength.
Each time it rains, I “act 14:17. I mean every single time. The rain gives me so much strength. Up here in Alaska, there is not much train for eight months of the year because any moisture will be in the form of snow. So these days, I get a lot of strength by seeing a moose.
In the last week or so, I have seen four moose. Moose are not everywhere. One could go many months without seeing a moose. Yet, I have seen four in the last week or so.
Yesterday, a friend asked me to give him a ride to work because he was having car issues. So, I braved the -33°F weather and went and picked him up and took him to work. As I was leaving the office where he worked, I looked across the road, and there was a huge moose underneath the tree next to our house I was amazed! I was filled with so much joy and strength.
Why?
I was amazed that through God‘s Providence, he helped me see that moose. I am 1000% convinced that God took me to that location and at the exact right moment that I was leaving the parking lot across the street was a moose underneath the tree. I ended up following that moose for the next 10 minutes Watching him from a relatively close distance as he navigate the snow looking for his next bite to eat I was amazed.
Last Sunday, I was doing some gig work and an order took me down a road that I’ve never been down before. It was a beautiful drive with Kirby roads, tall, spruce trees, and birch trees, and magnificent piles of snow as I turned the corner there probably half a mile down the road was a moose standing right in the middle of the road. As I approach the moose, there was another moose on the right side of the road that quickly darted away. So, I saw too Again, I’m convinced that God brought me down that road because God knew there was a moose there that would give me strength.
I stand amazed!!
I’ll tell you another story that happened last night that was pretty interesting.
On December 29, 2024, I went to a place called Murphy Dome, which is a really really large hill or small mountain to worship God. It was Sunday and I wanted to take the Lord‘s supper in the midst of the beautiful sunset near Denali. It was so pretty up there. I waited for the sun to get right behind Denali. The whole time I was praying and praising God in my mind and heart.
I got out of the van. Again, it was -23°F. I went back to the van and the door was locked, and I could not get back in. Long story short, I ran down the hill after trying to break the window, and there were two really pretty women in an older truck a very nice truck. They let me sit in their backseat and get warm And then they took me up to the van and they help me figure out a way to get in. Without them, I may very well be dead. I’ve wondered if they were angels put there by God to save me from the bitter cold.
Last night, I was delivering my last order. The order was up in the hills away from the city. The temperature was about -33°F as I turned onto a road going up the hill I almost ran to the back of a small SUV. There were no lights on. I rolled down my window and talked to the girl that was looking underneath the hood and encouraged her to put the lights on, so no one would hit her. She told me that her vehicle had no power.
I thought she was talking to her father on the phone. I told her that when I came back down the hill I would check on her and the other girl that was with her. I went to go deliver the goods and when I got up there three or 4 miles away I was worried about those two girls. Maybe they had been there in that cold weather for sometime and they had no warm car to get in and warm up. I panicked and quickly drove my vehicle back down the hill to their location there they were standing there outside the car.
I asked them if they were cold and they said yes. Later, I’d learned they’ve been out there for about an hour and -33°F. I asked him if they wanted to sit in my car and they said yes I’ll let them go sit in the car. I asked her permission to take a look at the vehicle and see if I could see anything wrong. They said yes. I looked at the vehicle but could not see anything obvious that could be fixed Immediately
I asked the girls if they would like for me to take them somewhere and I would wherever they wanted to go. One girl wanted to go up the hill to get some glasses and then together the two girls would go to their house over in town. So, I took the girl up the hill and she got her glasses and then I took both of them to their house near the hospital in town. When I say girls, I’m guessing they were both in there Mid 20s maybe 24 or 25. They were very cold and thankful that they could sit in a warm car.
Sometimes people in the lower 48 have no idea what -33°F feels like. I often tell people to go take a cold shower and then go climb in the freezer and sit there for a while.
I really felt good that I was able to help these two women. I even offered to take them to the store they needed anything before going home. I gave the one girl my phone number and told her that in the morning I was often driving around the area doing gig work and if she needed anything to let me know, and I would give her a ride where she needed to go. I did not hear from her.
I tell the story because I’ve wondered about the Providence of God. God knew that those two young women were broken down on a very dark, desolate road and very cold temperatures. God used me that night to go and help them I think.
In view of Hebrews 13:2, I wondered if they were angels
