Servant
There is power in prayer (James 5:16).

I really need prayers. I also want to share a possible positive. Thank you.

Timeline:

In early 2019, my family and I moved to Alaska from Texas to begin working with a small church.

The church grew. Despite Covid, the church grew from 28 to nearly 90 with 22 baptisms. It was incredible.

In August 2022, my wife left me. In my wildest dreams I never thought something like that would happen.

My two young sons and I headed back to Texas to set up our new home. My wife and older daughter we’re headed overseas to visit family. I had hoped that time away would cause my wife to rethink what she had done. I was wrong.

In mid September 2022, my wife and a sister in Christ left Alaska and went to Texas and stole my children. I have not seen them since I have suffered greatly since the end with deep despair and sadness.

I pray, fervently for reconciliation. I pleaded with God to take me back to Alaska at one time, I had tried to do everything I could to go to Alaska, but failed miserably.

Trusting God’s timing

It’s easy to look back in my life and see the end of God. Everything lined up just like a solar eclipse for the summer of 2024. God took me back to Alaska.

Again, it’s amazing to see how God did it. God gave me a teaching and coaching job in Alaska. God gave me a free $850 first class ticket from California to Alaska courtesy of the temporary job that I just finished for 60 days.

However, I could not find a place to live nor a vehicle to drive. I trusted in God and went to Alaska anyway. My plane landed at 12:15 AM and I had nowhere to go and no car to get there.

The next two years in Alaska would be one difficulty after another. It’s like Satan was following me around laughing at every difficulty I faced. I could probably write a book about all the difficulties I faced.

Due to no fault of my own, I lost my job as a teacher and coach. Later, after securing a job as a laboratory manager, I lost that job due to no fault of my own. I had another job promised to me on Thursday, the highest salary I’ve ever received, but never heard from them again until the following week when they told me they had given it to somebody else.

I lived at the shelter for 4.5 months. Later I lived in my van for 28 nights. I lived in a very primitive basement for six months. It had no toilet and no kitchen.

I had a Landlord that stole all my stuff, including my van, the title and keys. He stole all my clothes and everything I had in Alaska. I slept in a rental car for 17 nights at a 45° angle in the same clothes.

In all of this, I see the hand of God. I suffered in so many ways that I often was in deep depression and sadness. But I saw incredible northern lights, moose, Caribou, and the incredible rain, which I love so much (Acts 14:17).

Again, I love the moose for some reason. They give me strength, but they are not everywhere. One could go months without seeing one. On several occasions, I have asked God to let me see one and either that day or the next day, I would see one or two. It amazes me and gave me such strength.

Looking back over the last two years, I see the hand of God. Yes, I lived at the shelter for 4.5 months, but as a result of living there and being a veteran, I ended up getting nine months of free rent.

I was in HR limbo for 10 days before teaching school but as a result, I started doing gig work. I had never done any gig work before. Did I know, gig work would keep my head above water until this day. In fact, I just got back from doing gig work a few hours ago and I’ll be heading out in a few hours.

After I lost my job at the school, the principal suggested that I joined the union which I quickly did. After I did, the lawyers were able to win most of my salary back, which was paid out monthly until the end of April. To me, that’s the hand of God.

On December 29, 2024, I went to a place called Murphy Dome to worship God. From there, on a clear day, one can clearly see Mount Denali. I knew it was gonna be a beautiful sunset and so I went there to worship God I took my Lord supper materials with me. It was -40°F.

For some reason, I got out of the van and the door locked and I was left outside with only a puffer jacket. I did not have boots or gloves or a hoodie or a beanie, etc.. Nothing I was going to freeze to death. I tried to break the window, but I was unsuccessful. There were no rocks except for one little loose rock that I found.

I decided to run down to the bottom of the hill after praying up at the top of the hill. It just so happen there were two beautiful women down there sitting in an old truck, but a nice truck. Again, I could write a book. The two ladies, beautiful ladies took me back up to the hill, where I was at with my van still running. Their old truck had an antenna that could come off and they were able to take it off and use it to manipulate the locks through a window that did not go all the way to the top they saved my life.

I’ve never seen those women again. I wondered if they were angels. I wondered if God just simply put them there in that old truck for the reason of saving my life. When I think about that day and what happened, I think about the hand of God and how he sees and knows all things it gives me strength.

I had people that helped me. One particular lady happen to let me live in our primitive basement the day that I lost my job as a laboratory manager. She did not know that I had just lost my job an hour or so before, but she let me move into the privative basement free of charge.

Unfortunately, that lady who had been so nice to let me live there later became very, very ugly to me due to no fault. She had sent some people over to check on the boiler before winter started and they were unable to access the basement. She became very hateful to me even though she did not tell me anybody was coming over this happened twice. She finally told me to leave so I did.

Again, I can write a book.

The two year anniversary of my arrival back to Alaska just happened a week or so ago. It was so boring to realize I’ve been here for two years.

When my plane took off on August 19, 2024, I was 1000% convinced that before my plane landed my wife would contact me and I would instantly have a place to live in a car to drive. I was so convinced that it gave me incredible strength as the plane took off. I was just confident that somehow she would contact me, though. I didn’t know how it didn’t happen. I was so confident just like Abraham was confident that God would raise Isaac from the dead that confident.

I still wonder why God brought me back to Alaska. Why am I here at any moment? I’m probably less than 30 minutes from where my wife and kids are right right this second. I don’t know where they’re at, but I’m confident that they are within 30 minutes of where I am laying right this minute.

In other words, if something happened and somehow my wife contacted me and invited me over, I could be there in 30 minutes or less. Again, I don’t know where they’re at, but I’m 99% sure they are within 30 minutes of where I’m at right now

When my wife left me, I made a decision to put everything in God‘s hands. He was my lawyer. I determined to pray, fervently and let God sort out the details. I pleaded with God to restore my marriage in my family. I ask God to lead me and guide me and show me what to do if anything I waited patiently on him, even though it was not easy to be in his waiting room.

God brought me back to Alaska. The details are incredible when you look at it and how God did it. Just like a s solar eclipse, it happened precisely it just the right moment

Over the last two years, I’ve noticed something that seems to be repeated. It almost seems like God does not want me to leave the state. There have been opportunities that showed up out of nowhere, but then suddenly were squashed.

It also seems like God does not want me to be very comfortable here in the state. So right now, I am back in the primitive basement or as I call it the roach infested primitive basement. I am driving around a horrible car that I call a Fred Flintstone car. With every move it sounds like it’s about to break in half yet. I am still doing gig work with it.

Most recently

I haven’t discussed it in the above information but I have in the past. In fact, it was the company that helped bring me back to Alaska. They provided the free $850 first class ticket back in the summer 2024.

They are in the process of offering me a temporary position. It will require me to leave and go to Arizona mid September. I am torn. I have put it in God‘s hands. It would help me tremendously. I have worked for them four times before it’s a good opportunity.

I would be able to leave the roach investor primitive basement and for the next 3 to 6 months live in $200 plus hotel nights. Previously I had worked for them and overall I stayed in hotels 200+ times it made me feel like a human to have access to a nice bed and a kitchen and a nice toilet and everything the hotels offer.

If what I said before is true, I would not be surprised if suddenly the job is canceled or somehow they remove me from the offer. But time will tell, of course if God removing me for the offer in view of my family being restored, then I would be perfectly OK.

I need strength.

Every day, I thank God for five things when I begin my prayers. I always thank God for strength. Somehow, in someway, God will lift me up and give me the strength to go to gig work. There are times like last night that I did not want anything to do with cake work but then all of a sudden I went out and made $100. Thank you, God.

Right now it’s 1:30 AM and I know that I will be going to work at around 3:30 AM or maybe four and yet I haven’t slept yet

I love God with all my heart

What are some things that have happened to me in my mind and body? I feel like I love God more now than ever before. I feel like my faith is stronger now that it’s been ever before. I guess that’s the power of trials.

I’ve watched so many videos to talk about being restored and God ending and bringing us through doors to better things, etc.. I know God can do it, but will he do it for me has been my question.

I’m tired.

I have never been suicidal, but I have prayed fervently for death. I bet I have gone to sleep at night and beg God to take my life before I wake. I just want to be in his presence. I’m just tired of the pain.

If it was not for the hand of God, I probably would be suicidal. I’ve just seen too many things that God is done. I’ve seen people pop out of nowhere and offer. Blessings to me. I’ve seen moose that suddenly appeared behind the house when the day before I asked that God would do it he did. I’ve seen incredible orders be given to me out of nowhere, and my first thought was this was the hand of God.

Quick story: I remember a few months ago I was delivering an order and I just finished. It was about 20 minutes from where I live and so I thought I would stop by the grocery store just for a few minutes to see if I could get an order coming back. All of a sudden, I got the ding. It was an order to McDonald’s for nearly $45. The whole order took me less than 10 minutes to deliver. To me, that was the hand of God in amaze me and that’s happened many times.

Yes, I am a Christian. Yes I believe in Jesus in the Bible in God in the spirit, etc. I believe in everything the Bible truly teaches.

I believe in prayer and that’s why I’m here. I have probably prayed for my wife my name at least 1 million times. Think about that I have lifted up her name before the throne of grace and mercy at least 1 million times.

I could only hope that people would pray for my name that many times I wonder what God has done with those prayer prayers

Often imagine my wife and I wonder what God has done in her life to bring her to a better position or to soften her heart.

Please pray for me

I need wisdom
I need guidance
I need strength
I need open doors
I need my family

Thank you for praying for me

We have read your Alaska update and we thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for trusting us to pray with you. We are deeply moved by your endurance through so much loss and hardship, and we join you in giving thanks that you still love God with all your heart and that your faith has grown stronger through these trials. There is power in prayer as you quoted James 5:16, and we believe God has heard every one of those more than a million prayers you have lifted for your wife and family.

We see the hand of God in your story even in the pain. You moved to Alaska in faith, you saw the church grow from 28 to nearly 90 with 22 baptisms, and even after the deep wound of your wife leaving in August 2022 and the taking of your children in September 2022, you chose to put everything in God's hands and let Him be your lawyer. That is biblical. Romans 12:19 reminds us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and Psalm 37:5 calls us to commit our way to Yahweh and trust Him. You waited on His timing and He opened a remarkable door to bring you back to Alaska in the summer of 2024, providing the teaching and coaching position and even the first class ticket. We rejoice with you that you have seen His provision in the nine months of free rent that came after the shelter, in the gig work that has sustained you, in the salary that was restored through the union, and in the daily orders that have kept you going. As Acts 14:17 says, He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good and gave you rains from the sky and fruitful seasons, filling your heart with food and gladness, and we see that witness in the northern lights, the moose and caribou, and even the rain you love.

We also want to speak lovingly about the weariness and the prayers for death you described. We understand you are tired and have known deep despair and sadness, and you said you have begged God to take your life before you wake because you long to be in His presence and are tired of the pain. You also said you have never been suicidal but without the hand of God you probably would be. We must gently correct this desire. God is the giver of life and your life is precious to Him. He has preserved you, even on Murphy Dome at minus 40 degrees when you were locked out of your van without proper clothing, and He sent help at the exact moment you needed it. He has a purpose for you still on this earth. Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We encourage you to no longer pray for death, but to pray for life and strength and for God to fulfill His purpose in you. James 1:2-4 teaches us to count it all joy when we fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of our faith produces endurance, and that endurance must have its perfect work that we may be mature and complete. Your faith growing stronger through trials is exactly what God promises.

We affirm your desire for reconciliation. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and God makes clear how He views that covenant. Malachi 2:16 says He hates divorce, and Matthew 19:6 says What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart. Your commitment to pray fervently for your wife and to not pursue worldly retaliation but to trust God is honoring to Him. We also believe children are a heritage from Yahweh as Psalm 127:3 says, and it grieves us that your two young sons and your daughter have been kept from you since 2022. We pray God will protect their hearts, that He will keep them close to Himself, and that He will bring justice and restoration in His perfect way. We encourage you to continue to love your wife from a distance in prayer, to forgive as Christ forgave us as Ephesians 4:32 calls us to do, and to keep your heart pure while you wait, not seeking another relationship but believing God for the restoration of your marriage if it be His will.

Regarding your present struggles with housing in the primitive basement, the difficult car, the loss of jobs through no fault of your own, and the new opportunity in Arizona that would require you to leave Alaska in mid September, we pray for clear wisdom and guidance. It does seem God has kept you in Alaska for a reason, within 30 minutes of where you believe your family is, and we understand why you are torn. James 1:5 promises If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Psalm 61:2 says When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. We pray God will make your path unmistakably clear, that He will open doors that no one can shut as Revelation 3:8 says, and close doors that are not His will. Whether He keeps you in Alaska or sends you to Arizona for a season to provide for yourself in those hotel stays and to restore your dignity and rest, we trust He will provide. Philippians 4:6-7 calls us to not be anxious, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God will guard our hearts. Continue to thank Him for those five things each day, especially for strength, for 2 Corinthians 12:9 says My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

You asked if God will do it for you, if He will bring restoration and lead you through doors to better things. Ephesians 3:20 says He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Romans 8:28 assures us that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of His thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Lamentations 3:22-23 says His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness. We believe He sees your million prayers like incense before His throne and He is working even when you cannot see it.

We join our faith with yours now and pray together in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved as Acts 4:12 and John 14:6 teach, and we thank you for confessing your belief in Jesus, the Bible, and the Holy Spirit.

We pray, Father in Jesus name, we lift this dear brother to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know his weariness, his sleepless nights going to gig work at 3:30 in the morning, his primitive basement and his failing car, his loneliness for his sons and daughter and his longing for his wife. We ask You to give him supernatural strength today, to renew him like the eagle as Isaiah 40:29 promises to those who have no might. Give him wisdom about the Arizona position, make Your will so clear that he will have peace. Provide for him a safe place to live and reliable transportation according to Your riches in glory. Soften his wife's heart wherever she is, draw her to Yourself, bring conviction and healing and a desire for reconciliation and for honoring the marriage covenant. Protect his children, let them know their father loves them and that You love them even more, and we ask for a way to be opened for restoration and communication in Your perfect timing. Heal his broken heart, lift the deep sadness and depression, replace his prayers for death with a fresh vision for life and hope, and let him feel Your nearness. Show him again Your hand in the moose, in the orders, in the unexpected kindness of strangers, and let him know he is not forgotten. We thank You that You have kept him, that Your love endures, and that You will complete the good work You began in him. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to stay rooted in the Word, to remain in fellowship with believers in Alaska who can walk with you face to face, to get rest when you can, and to keep praying without ceasing. We are standing with you for wisdom, guidance, strength, open doors, and for your family to be restored in God's way and time. We thank God for your faithful example of trusting Him through such deep waters, and we will continue to pray that He who has brought you this far will carry you through to the joy set before you.

We are so grateful you reached out and shared your story with us, and we want to pause right at the start because you mentioned praying for death and feeling so tired and deep in despair. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support from someone nearby, you can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. You are not alone and trained people are ready to help right now.

Thank you for trusting us with the long road you have walked since 2019, the joy of seeing the church grow, the heartbreak of your wife leaving and not seeing your children since 2022, and these last two years back in Alaska with so much instability, from the shelter and your van to the basement and the work that fell through. We hear how tired you are, and also how you have kept looking for God's hand, in the northern lights and even in a single order that came at just the right moment, and in thanking Him daily for strength to keep going.

You asked for wisdom, guidance, strength, open doors, and for your family, and we are bringing those exact needs before the Lord with you. It makes sense you feel torn about the Arizona opportunity, and that you wonder why God brought you back to Alaska. When you are carrying this much, it helps to not carry it alone. Alongside prayer, would you consider letting one trusted person know this week how exhausted and low you have been feeling, whether a pastor, counselor, or veteran support contact there in Alaska, so someone nearby can walk with you in real time?

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. You see his love for You, his fatigue, and his longing for his children and wife. Give him wisdom for the decision before him, strength for each day and night of work, safe shelter and provision, and clear guidance for next steps. Surround him with caring people and keep him close to You. Amen.

Your account has been read with much prayer and heaviness of heart, and we thank you for opening your life before the Lord and before His people. The power of prayer is not a small thing, for the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much, and you have not ceased to pray. To have lifted your wife's name before the throne of grace a million times is a labour of love which God has heard, though the answer tarries.

We have marked the long road you have walked, from Texas to Alaska and back again, the growth of the little church from twenty eight to ninety with twenty two baptisms, and then the deep wound of August 2022 when your wife left and your children were taken from your sight. To live within thirty minutes of those you love most and yet not to see them is a trial that must cut very deep. Added to this has been the loss of work through no fault of your own, months in a shelter, nights in a van, a primitive basement without toilet or kitchen, the theft of your van and all you owned, nights in a rental car, cold and weariness and the heaviness that makes a man pray for death that he might be with Christ. We do not make light of this. The Lord sees it all.

And yet you have also seen the hand of God, as you say, like a solar eclipse in its exactness. A teaching and coaching door opened, a first class ticket of eight hundred and fifty dollars freely given, nine months of free rent granted because you had been in the shelter and are a veteran, gig work provided when you were in limbo for ten days, salary restored through the union when the school let you go, and those small mercies which have kept your soul alive, the rain which He sends as a witness of His goodness, the northern lights, the moose appearing the day after you asked to see one. These are not accidents. As it is written, God left not Himself without witness, in that He did good, and gave us rain from heaven. He means you to know that you are not forgotten.

You ask for strength, wisdom, guidance, open doors, and above all for your family. Hear then what the Lord says to those who have no might. Human strength is of many kinds, but in any form it will spend itself in due time. Apart from God it is not strength at all and must come to an end. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. To them that have no might He increaseth strength. And more, He Himself says, I will strengthen them. When there remains no strength in you, nor any ability of any kind, then fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it. God Himself will impart strength to His chosen, and therefore it will be fitly infused and wisely balanced. The glory of our strength lies not in ourselves, not in wealthy friends or clever speech, but in God alone. If you are to stand another day, to go out again at three in the morning to labour, it must be in His strength, and He is prepared to give it.

You ask for reconciliation, and this we can bring before God with full confidence according to His Word. Marriage is not a light affinity, but a covenant of choice, cemented by mutual love, wherein a man and a woman become one. The Lord says, I am married unto you. He is the God of peace who has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation, and He has committed unto us the word of reconciliation, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself. What God has joined together, we are to honour and to pray for, not to dissolve. We do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, but we do ask Him to bless and to restore what He Himself ordained, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. For this we will pray, that if it be His will, He would soften hearts, turn back what has been broken, and bring your wife and children again under one roof in the fear of the Lord.

Take heart also from Peter. His fall was grievous, and yet his restoration was soon and sure, brought about by a look from the Lord who had prayed for him. Though you feel you have marred your life by sorrows not of your own making, do not despair. It would have been better to have gone from strength to strength without such breaking, but as this great grief has come, we pray you do not despair. The Lord who restored Peter can restore a household. He can give life where there is no strength, and then give strength to walk up and down in His name.

Concerning the door to Arizona in mid September, we will pray for wisdom. It is right to put it in God's hands. You have seen before how doors open and shut apart from your planning. If He keeps you in Alaska, it is for a purpose. If He sends you to Arizona for a season to provide honestly and to have a bed and a table again, that also is His hand. Ask for strength to take the next step as He shows it, and to be content to wait upon Him rather than to run before Him.

And when weariness says it would be better to sleep and not wake, remember that the dead cannot gather strength or walk up and down before the Lord. While you are yet without strength, believe that Christ died for the ungodly, and that He lives to intercede for you. Your life is not your own to take, it is His to keep. He has kept you on Murphy Dome at forty below, He kept you through the shelter and the basement, and He will keep you still. Whenever you feel you have something to do that is beyond you, stop a moment and breathe a prayer for more strength, and then in the name of Him that will surely bear you over it, take your step.

We will pray for you now.

O Father, who givest power to the faint, look upon this brother who waits upon Thee. Renew his strength. Thou hast said, I will strengthen them, do as Thou hast said. Give him wisdom for the decision before him, guidance for each open door, daily bread through honest labour, and sleep in due season. Guard his heart from despair and keep his mind stayed upon Christ. We pray for his wife, wherever she is, and for his sons and his daughter, that Thou wouldst keep them, draw them to Thyself through Jesus Christ alone, and if it be Thy holy will, reconcile this marriage according to Thy covenant design. Let Thy will be done, and let this man see Thy hand again as clearly as he has seen it in moose and lights and rain. Make him to go from strength to strength, glorifying Thee by a consistent life, and strengthen him to strengthen his brethren. In the name of Jesus our only Saviour, Amen.

Continue to wait upon the Lord. He has not forgotten you.
