Alaska / Friday Update…

Humble Prayer Warrior
“There is power in prayer (James 5:15).”

Background:

In the summer of 2022, my wife left me and then stole my children. I had gone to Texas to start a new job and set up our home. She remained in Alaska.

She went to court and made it seem like I stole the boys, but I did not. She and my daughter were going overseas to visit family and I took the boys to put them in school in Texas.

So the court gave her permission to go get the boys. I was working in my classroom when I was told the bad news by the principal and the HR department. It was one of the saddest days of my life. I have not seen them since.

I have prayed fervently since then, and even before. I prayed fervently that God would bring me back to Alaska. I looked for every open door. Finally, in August 2024, God opened up a door for me to fly first class from California to Alaska.

I moved to Alaska with no place to live and no car to drive. I did have a teaching job that would begin as soon as I went through the HR process. So, I lived at the shelter.

Abraham was convinced that God would raise up Isaac from the dead. I was convinced that before my plane landed, my wife would contact me and let me stay at her house with my family. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

The last year has been incredibly difficult. Almost every bad thing that could happen to me has happened. On November 20, 2024, I lost my teaching job and coaching job due to no fault of my own. In fact, the school had to pay my salary through the end of April.

Soon after arriving in Alaska, I needed money and so I started doing DoorDash for the first time. Little did I know at the time, DoorDash would play a pivotal part in my efforts to keep my head above water throughout the year.

As the year progressed following my arrival, I lived at the shelter 4.5 months and then God gave me a beautiful apartment in a $1 million house just outside of town. The VA paid my rent the entire time I was there 4.5 months. Then had to move out because the owner used it as an Airbnb. I moved into the back of my van for 28 nights

In late May, 2025, I got an awesome job as a laboratory manager. It was the highest salary I’ve ever gotten in my life. I thought for sure God was blessing me with this great job before reconciliation took place. Again, I was wrong. The job was not a good fit, and the outgoing manager asked me to lie, etc. I lost that job on June 16, 2025.

On the same day that I lost the job, the owner of the $1 million house allowed me to move into the basement for free. It almost seem like God was responding to my job loss with a more comfortable place to live in the back of my van. The basement though free made me feel like I was living in the bottom of an old pirate ship.

I immediately start looking for a new job and God gave me five job interviews within a week. Unfortunately, none of them worked out, even though I thought they would. One job was managing a gas station near the house. It was more money than the laboratory position. The job was offered to me, but then they ended up hiring another person. It was really strange. However, it was a blessing because as a Christian, I had no business managing a gas station/liquor store.

I did not mention earlier, but on December 29, 2024, I went to a mountain to worship God. It was a Sunday and I could tell it was going to be a beautiful sunset (see my profile pic). It was -23° and I got locked out of my van. Before that, and after that, I have never had my van lock like that, but it did on that day.

I should have died. There was no one else up there. I tried everything to get in the van, including trying to break the window. I could not break the window with what I found. So, I ran down the hill at that time I could not fill my ears or my face. My hands were numb. I found two young women probably in their late 20s at the bottom of the hill. They came up to help me and saved me from dying in the winter cold. It’s like they were two angels.

I have now been in Alaska for over one year. I thought for sure my family would be back together by now. I believe in trust that God‘s been working, but I have not seen anything in the 3-D. It’s painful to know that my wife and children are probably within 20 to 30 minutes of where I’m living and I have not been able to go see them.

I’m a very sentimental man and with every birthday in every holiday, I get very depressed and sad as I miss my family. My faith is strong and I trust that God is working even though I can’t see anything.

Since my wife left me in 2022, I have prayed many times that God would take my life. I am not suicidal, but I was perfectly OK with God ending my life and taking me to Heaven. I’ve even prayed that God would send a Elijah’s chariot to get me. So far, nothing.

I have dealt with a lot of depression and deep sadness. I don’t understand why women can be so evil. 80% of divorces are initiated by women. It amazes me how many people are so willing to end their marriage so quickly with no prayer, counseling, etc. As we all know, God hates divorce.

For the record, yes, I am a Christian. Yes, I believe in Jesus. I’ve been a Christian since 1979. I pray without ceasing. Like the widow in Luke 18:1. I read the psalms each month and meditate on God‘s word often. I love God with all my heart and I belong to one day being his presence with Christ.

One month ago, the owner of this $1 million home told me that I could stay in the basement for the winter as long as I was willing to use the truck to shovel the roads during the winter. I agreed. However, a few days ago she asked me if I had found a place to live yet. I was surprised by her question and ask her about it… For whatever reason, she would like for me to move out.

Initially, I was upset in trouble, but the owner has been very kind to me to let me live here since June 16. I ask her if I could stay till November 1 and she said OK. So, I have about 30 days to get my things in order to figure out what to do next… so, I need prayers for a place to live.

I have learned…

God often works in chaos. When I lost my job at the school, I did not shed a tear. I was confident that God was doing something.

When I lost my job at the lab, I was not happy, but at the same time, I was confident that God was working. Maybe, just maybe God removed me from that situation for a reason.

But dear friends… I am mentally and physically exhausted. God, please restore my family and give me a life again.

I asked that you pray for the following:

Marital reconciliation
Family back together
A good job
A comfortable place to live
Strength to keep on keeping on

DoorDash

DoorDash has been a huge blessing to me. If anyone out there reading this is suffering financially due to a job loss, etc.. I encourage you to look into it. It may add some income to your life, either permanently or temporary that will help you going forward.

Yesterday, something strange happened to me:

I had an order that required me to take some fast food to the previous laboratory job that I had. My anxiety went through the roof.
I had an order that required me to take some fast food to the previous laboratory job that I had. My anxiety went through the roof.

I even contemplated quitting doing DoorDash over it as I did not want to go back over there. I finally headed that direction in about two or 3 miles before I got to the lab, the order just suddenly vanished. I thought it was a computer glitch. I quickly got another order to the same fast food place.

What happened?

I contacted support and they told me that the order had been canceled. They also said I would get full pay for the order. I also got to keep all the food which was about $20 worth of food.

I was amazed!

In conclusion, if you have read this prayer request, thank you for doing so. Thank you for your prayers.

In Alaska, I love the rain. The rain gives me great comfort, and strength (Acts 14:17). It has rained a lot lately. Thank you, God.

In addition, I have seen incredible northern lights. Next to the rain, I love to see moose. It’s strange the things that we like, but I love to see them. They are majestic creatures that just wonder throughout the area. On many occasions, I have asked God to let me see one and within a day or so I saw one.

Thank you for praying for me. I am truly grateful.

We are deeply moved by your testimony of faith and perseverance through such profound trials, and we join you in lifting your burdens before the Lord. Your story is a testament to the truth of James 1:2-4, which reminds us to "count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." You have endured much, and we believe God is refining you through this season, even when the path is unclear.

First, we must acknowledge your steadfast faith in Christ, which shines through your suffering. You have clung to Him in prayer, in the reading of His Word, and in trust even when circumstances seem hopeless. This is the mark of a true believer, and we commend you for it. Yet we also hear the deep sorrow in your heart—the longing for your wife and children, the exhaustion of constant upheaval, and the ache of unanswered prayers. It is right to bring these burdens to God, for He cares for you deeply (1 Peter 5:7). He sees your tears, and He is not indifferent to your pain.

We must also address the weight of your words when you speak of praying for God to take your life. While we understand the depth of your despair, we gently but firmly rebuke this line of thinking, for it does not align with the hope we have in Christ. Your life is precious to God, and He has a purpose for you in this season, even if you cannot yet see it. The apostle Paul faced immense suffering and even pleaded with the Lord to remove his thorn in the flesh, yet God’s response was, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9). Your weakness is an opportunity for God’s strength to be displayed. Do not lose heart, for He who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6).

Regarding your marriage, we stand with you in praying for reconciliation, for God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and delights in restoring what is broken. However, we must also remind you that reconciliation requires repentance and a willingness to submit to God’s design for marriage. Your wife’s actions have been grievous, and the pain of separation from your children is unbearable. Yet we urge you to continue praying not only for restoration but also for her heart to be softened by the Holy Spirit. Pray that God would convict her of any sin, just as He convicts us all, and that He would draw her back to Himself—and to you—in humility and love. Remember, *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9).

As for your children, we pray that God would protect their hearts and minds, that they would grow in the knowledge of Him, and that He would reunite you with them in His perfect timing. Do not cease to pray for them daily, covering them in the blood of Jesus and trusting that He is their ultimate Father, even when you cannot be with them.

Your current struggles with housing and employment are real, but we see how God has provided for you time and again—whether through the shelter, the basement, DoorDash, or the kindness of strangers who rescued you on that mountain. These are not coincidences; they are evidence of His faithfulness. We pray that He would open the right door for stable housing and meaningful work, work that aligns with your gifts and His will for your life. *"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5).

We also note your observation about the cancellation of the DoorDash order to your former workplace. This was no accident. God is protecting you, even in small ways, from unnecessary pain. He is your shield and your great reward (Genesis 15:1). Trust that He is guiding your steps, even when the path seems unclear.

Finally, we encourage you to continue finding joy in the small mercies God gives you—the rain that comforts you, the northern lights that awe you, the moose that remind you of His creation’s majesty. These are gifts from a Father who loves you deeply. *"The heavens declare the glory of God. The skies proclaim his handiwork"* (Psalm 19:1). Let these things point you back to His goodness, even in the storm.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, who has endured so much yet remains faithful to You. Lord, we ask for Your supernatural intervention in his marriage. Soften his wife’s heart, Lord, and bring conviction where it is needed. Restore this family, Father, for Your glory. Reunite him with his children, and let Your peace flood his home. We pray against the spirit of division and rebellion that has torn this family apart, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, provide for his every need—a stable home, a job that honors You and uses his gifts, and the strength to keep pressing forward. You have been his provider in the wilderness, and we trust You to continue leading him beside still waters (Psalm 23:2). Give him wisdom as he seeks housing, and open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8).

Lord, we also lift up his heart. Heal the deep wounds of betrayal and loss. Replace his despair with Your hope, his anxiety with Your peace. Remind him that You are close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and that You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). Strengthen him, Lord, for the battles ahead, and let him see Your hand moving in his life in undeniable ways.

We thank You for Your faithfulness, even when we cannot see the bigger picture. We trust You, Lord, and we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

Brother, keep fighting the good fight. Keep praying without ceasing. Keep trusting, even when the night is darkest. God is not done with your story. He is writing a testimony that will bring Him glory, and one day, you will look back and see how He carried you through it all. *"Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning"* (Psalm 30:5). Hold on to that promise. We are standing with you in faith.
