Alaska / 9.10 - Prayer Request

Humble Prayer Warrior
There is power in prayer (James 5:16).

I have prayed without ceasing (1 Thes 5:17). I have prayed without giving up or fainting (Luke 18:1ff). I have prayed so many times; I’m tired of praying. I am exhausted.

Thank you for each and every person that has prayed for me. I am truly grateful.

Three years ago, my wife left me. She then proceeded to steal my children. I have not seen them since. I miss them terribly.

Marriage is for life. I believe that. Despite everything, my wife has done to me, I have forgiven her in my heart and mind. I have pleaded with God to bring her to repentance and to soften her heart. I trust that he’s been working on her.

In the USA, 80% of divorces are initiated by women. 90% if the woman has a college degree. It’s a sad state of affairs in this country. Rarely do people talk about the divorce rates and the ease at which people get divorced. Of course, divorce wrecks homes and lives.

I am the kind of father that loves my children and I love spending time with them. I would rather spend time with my children than do something fun for myself. I’m the kind of father that goes overboard on birthdays, trying everything to make them special and memorable.

Tomorrow, is my son’s birthday. Before he was born, I preached 12 or 13 sermons on different Bible characters indicating to the church that one of those names would be my son’s name.

In the case of Jonah, God sent a big fish. God can do anything to turn someone around in their life. I hope and pray that God is doing whatever is necessary to turn my family around. My heart aches.

I prayed with God to take me back to Alaska. He did on August 19, 2024. I moved to Alaska walking by faith and not by sight (2 Cor 5:7). I had no place to live and no car to drive but I went anyway.

The last year has been incredibly tough. I lived in the homeless shelter for 4.5 months. I lost three really good jobs due to no fault of my own. I lived in my van for 28 nights. I’ve gone on countless interviews for good jobs but nothing. My faith is strong but there are times I get really weak, especially early in the morning when I wake up.

On December 29, 2024, I went to a mountain top to worship God. It was a beautiful sunset with Mount Denali right behind it was -23°F and I got locked out of my car. God spared me that day; I should’ve died. It’s still amazes me how he spared my life.

Lately, I have been doing DoorDash and the like to keep my head above water. Trust me, my head is barely above water with everything, forcing the waves on top of me.

I see little blessings from time to time that amazes me and caused me to be thankful to God.

1. God spared my life.

2. The VA paid five months of rental & $700 on winterizing my car.

3. Learning to use DoorDash effectively. I can now confidently make $200 a day.

4. Permission to get on the military base, which helped me tremendously in my efforts in the gig economy.

5. Ms L let me live in her primitive basement apartment in her $1 million home for free a few days ago; she said I can continue to live here in the winter.

6. I had two tires blow out and a friend helped me and then I had roadside service the second time. I’m thankful.

So, I can see the hand of God in his protection and provision (Ps 23). However, my heart aches terribly.

I am not suicidal, but I have frequently prayed that God would let me go home to be with him as quickly as possible.

I see other people die, and I think to myself, please God replace me with them. So far, God has not done it.

My faith is strong despite weak moments. I read the psalms one to two times each month. It has helped me tremendously. I’ve also read the proverbs many times.

Please pray the following:

I need strength.
Marriage reconciliation.
Family back together.
A good job.
A good place to live.

Thank you for reading this post and for praying for me. I pray God will bless you in any issues in your life that are troubling or difficult.

I know God is working in our lives. I know that he holds our tears and bottles and cares deeply for us. I know that he is shepherding us and working on us to bring us to a better situation in this life and the next.

God bless you always you seek him (Ps 105:4). Thank you.

We lift you up before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, knowing that He hears the cries of His children and collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). Your heartache is deep, and your burdens are heavy, yet we see a man who clings to faith even in the storm, who forgives as Christ forgave, and who seeks God’s will above all else. This is a testament to the Holy Spirit’s work in you, and we give thanks for your steadfastness.

You have walked a path of profound suffering—abandonment, the theft of your children, homelessness, and the crushing weight of unanswered prayers. Yet, like Job, you have not cursed God but have continued to trust Him (Job 1:22). We acknowledge your weariness, for even the most faithful can grow exhausted in the battle. But take heart, brother, for the Lord says, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28). He sees your sleepless nights, your aching heart, and your empty arms. He is not distant in your suffering but near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

You have prayed earnestly for reconciliation with your wife, and we join you in this plea, for God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16). Marriage is a covenant before Him, and He is able to soften even the hardest heart. We pray that your wife would be convicted by the Holy Spirit, that her heart would turn from rebellion to repentance, and that she would return to the vows she made before God. *"A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whomever she desires, only in the Lord"* (1 Corinthians 7:39). Yet even now, we ask the Lord to restore what the enemy has stolen, for *"what God has joined together, let no man separate"* (Mark 10:9). If it is His will, let her return with a humble and contrite spirit, ready to rebuild what has been broken.

We also lift up your children before the throne of grace. Oh, how the Father’s heart breaks for fathers who are kept from their children! We pray that God would supernaturally intervene—whether through dreams, convictions, or circumstances—to reunite you with your son and daughter. We ask that He would protect their hearts from bitterness, deception, or the lies of the enemy. *"Unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain"* (Psalm 127:1). May He rebuild your family upon the foundation of Christ, where forgiveness, love, and truth prevail.

Your son’s birthday is a painful reminder of what has been lost, but we pray that even in this, God would give you a glimpse of His goodness. You prepared for your son’s life with sermons and faith, and we declare that those seeds were not sown in vain. The Lord remembers your labor of love (Hebrews 6:10). We pray that this birthday, though marked by absence, would be covered in God’s peace, and that one day soon, you would celebrate it together again.

Your physical and financial struggles are real, and we do not minimize them. You have been faithful in the small things—trusting God in the shelter, in the van, in the gig work—and He has provided in miraculous ways. The Lord who fed Elijah by ravens (1 Kings 17:6) and who multiplied loaves for the multitudes (Matthew 14:19-21) is the same God who sees your need today. We pray for a **stable, God-honoring job** that would provide not just financially but also with dignity and purpose. We ask for a **safe and permanent home**, where you can rest and rebuild. Your current provision through Ms. ### is a testament to God’s faithfulness, and we pray that this would be a stepping stone to even greater stability.

Yet we must also address the prayers you’ve uttered asking God to take you home. Brother, your weariness is understandable, but your life is not your own—it was bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). The apostle Paul himself longed to depart and be with Christ, but he recognized that remaining was *"more necessary for your sake"* (Philippians 1:24). Your story is not over. God spared you on that mountain at -###°F for a reason. He has purposes for you that extend beyond your pain—purposes for your children, for your wife, for others who need to see Christ’s light in you. *"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope"* (Jeremiah 29:11). Do not give up. The night is darkest before the dawn, and your breakthrough is coming.

We exhort you to keep reading the Psalms, for they are the cries of a heart raw before God. But also meditate on the promises of restoration: *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). *"Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning"* (Psalm 30:5). *"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 1:6).

Finally, we must gently remind you that while your prayers have been persistent, the name of Jesus is the **only** name by which we are saved and through which we approach the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). You mentioned many scriptures, but we did not see the name of Jesus lifted up in your request. It is by His wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), through His blood we have access to the throne (Hebrews 10:19), and in His name demons flee, chains break, and miracles happen. There is power in the name of Jesus—speak it boldly in your prayers. If you have not already, surrender every ounce of pain, every unanswered question, every longing for your family at the foot of the cross. He is your Advocate, your High Priest, your Redeemer.

**Our Prayer for You:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is weary yet faithful, broken yet hopeful. Lord, You see his tears, You hear his cries, and You collect every sorrow in Your bottle. We ask that You would **strengthen him** in his inner being by Your Spirit (Ephesians 3:16), that he would not grow faint but would mount up with wings like eagles (Isaiah 40:31).

We plead for **reconciliation in his marriage**, if it be Your will. Softening the heart of his wife, breaking every stronghold of pride, bitterness, or deception. Lord, You turned the heart of the king of Assyria (Ezra 6:22)—You can turn her heart back to her covenant. Restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). Bring his children back to him, Lord. Let no weapon formed against this family prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Reunite them in Your timing and Your way.

Provide for him, Jehovah-Jireh. Open doors for a **stable job** that honors You, a **home** that is safe and warm, and relationships that encourage and uplift him. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10)—meet his every need according to Your riches in glory.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair that whispers for him to give up. Replace it with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind him that his life has purpose, that his story is not over, that You are writing redemption even now. Let him see glimpses of Your goodness daily, even in small things, to sustain him until the fullness of Your promise comes.

We declare **victory** over this situation. No weapon formed against him shall prosper. Every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Restore to him the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). Let his testimony be one of Your faithfulness, Your power, Your restoration.

In the name of **Jesus Christ**, our Lord and Savior, the Name above all names, we pray. Amen.
