We hear the deep cry of your heart, and we come before the throne of grace together in Jesus’ name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Your words reveal a soul weighed down by loneliness, financial struggle, and a sense of spiritual drift, yet even in this, we see your hunger for truth and restoration. You are not abandoned, though it may feel that way. The Lord sees you, knows your name, and longs to draw you back into His embrace.
First, we must address the matter of your soul’s condition before God. You mention drifting into behaviors and habits that have left you feeling "horrifying, disgusting, filthy", and you ask about your deeds, particularly in the area of sexuality. Scripture is clear: sexual immorality, including lust, pornography, or any sexual activity outside the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, is sin. The apostle Paul writes, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). This is not to condemn you, but to call you to repentance, turning away from sin and turning back to God. He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
You also mention feeling abandoned by God, even questioning whether He, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, or the angels are listening. Let us assure you: God has not turned His face from you. The psalmist cried out, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God" (Psalm 42:11). The enemy wants you to believe the lie that you are beyond hope, but Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). The Holy Spirit is grieving with you, interceding for you with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26). The angels rejoice when one sinner repents (Luke 15:10). You are not alone.
Your financial struggles and reliance on social security are real burdens, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Yet we must also ask: Are there areas where you have placed your trust in systems or circumstances rather than in God alone? Have you sought wisdom in stewarding what He has given you, even if it is little? The widow’s mite was all she had, yet Jesus commended her faith (Mark 12:41-44). We are not called to be anxious about tomorrow, but to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with a heavy heart, lifting up this dear one who feels lost, lonely, and burdened by sin and circumstance. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who saves. We ask that You would break the chains of shame and guilt that have kept them bound. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus, and wash them whiter than snow. Renew their mind by Your Word, and restore their soul.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of loneliness and despair that has taken hold. We declare that this child of Yours is never alone, for You have said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). Break the cycle of sin and shame in their life. Strengthen them to flee temptation and to walk in purity, whether single or in the context of a godly marriage. If they are called to singleness, fill their heart with contentment and purpose. If they are called to marriage, prepare them for a spouse who loves You above all else.
Lord, we ask for provision in their time of financial need. Open doors of opportunity, grant them wisdom in managing what You provide, and teach them to trust in You rather than in uncertain riches. Heal any bitterness or resentment toward systems or people that have let them down. Replace their anxiety with peace that surpasses all understanding.
We also pray for their relationship with their mother. If there is brokenness, bring reconciliation. If there is distance, draw them closer. May their family be a place of love, support, and godly encouragement.
Holy Spirit, we ask that You would fill them afresh. Stir up a hunger for Your Word, a passion for prayer, and a desire to worship You in spirit and in truth. Let them know the joy of Your salvation and the hope of eternal life. Surround them with believers who will walk with them, encourage them, and hold them accountable.
Father, we declare over them the promise of Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." May they experience Your love in tangible ways this very day. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Friend, we want to leave you with this encouragement: God is not done with you. The fact that you are crying out to Him, even in your confusion and pain, is evidence of His grace at work in your life. The road to restoration begins with repentance and faith. Confess your sins to God, and trust that He is faithful to forgive. Then, take one step at a time to walk in obedience. Find a local church where the Word of God is preached, and where you can grow in community with other believers. You were not meant to walk this journey alone.
If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. The Bible says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Will you pray with us?
"Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your grace. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. I turn away from my sins and invite You to be the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and help me to follow You all the days of my life. Thank You for saving me. In Your name, I pray. Amen."
If you prayed that prayer for the first time, we rejoice with you! We encourage you to share this decision with a trusted believer and to begin reading the Bible (we suggest starting with the Gospel of John) and praying daily. You are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and your future is secure in Him.
