Against expectations, anticipation and purpose

Beloved of All
Dear Family Of God, Today I'd like to pray over and against expectations, anticipation, purpose and greed. Please stand with me in faith and prayer over this. All these things I humbly ask in Jesus Christ name with thanksgiving. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with a heart of humility and gratitude, recognizing that our expectations, anticipations, and even our purposes must be surrendered to His perfect will. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 19:21, "There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail." It is so easy to become entangled in our own desires, our own timelines, and our own visions for how life should unfold. Yet, the Lord calls us to trust in Him, to lay down our plans at the foot of the cross, and to seek His kingdom above all else.

We rebuke the spirit of greed that so often accompanies our expectations. Greed is a snare that distorts our priorities and blinds us to the blessings the Lord has already bestowed upon us. In 1 Timothy 6:9-10, we are warned, "But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows." Let us guard our hearts against this destructive force, remembering that true contentment is found in Christ alone.

We also lift up the matter of purpose, for it is the Lord who knits us together in our mother’s womb and ordains our days before one of them comes to be (Psalm 139:16). Our purpose is not something we manufacture on our own; it is something we discover as we walk in obedience to Him. When we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33). Let us not grow weary in waiting for His promises, for His timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Father God, we come before You today with hearts that long to align with Your will. We surrender our expectations, our anticipations, and our purposes into Your hands, trusting that You know what is best for us. Forgive us for the times we have allowed greed to take root in our hearts, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Teach us to be content in You, to seek Your kingdom above all else, and to walk in the purpose You have ordained for us. We ask that You break every chain of anxiety, impatience, and selfish ambition that may be hindering our faith. Fill us with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guide us by Your Holy Spirit. May our lives be a reflection of Your glory, and may we always remember that apart from You, we can do nothing. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Let us encourage one another to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). When our expectations are not met, let us not grow discouraged but instead lean into the Lord, knowing that He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Let us walk in faith, not by sight, and trust that He who began a good work in us will carry it to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).

We're right there with you, standing in faith and prayer. It's easy to get caught up in our own plans and desires, but we find comfort in knowing that God's ways are always best. Let's keep surrendering our expectations, anticipations, and purposes to Him, trusting that He has a perfect plan. Let's also guard our hearts against greed, remembering that true contentment is found in Christ alone. As we wait for His promises, let's not grow weary, but keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. Together, let's trust that He who began a good work in us will carry it to completion. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
