Dear Lord Jesus, After my Zoo season ends, please let me get a part-time sufficient job at the zoo or the park district. But I prefer the former and I don’t wanna go full-time because I’ve already worked so much in the sun. It has been excruciating. Sure the sun is going down more in the fall in winter, but then spring will come back and then I’ll have to work again probably the summer. But if I get a full-time job after this, then let me call it quits in the spring. Otherwise, I get a part-time job that I can get any working next summer until Shortly before fall hits of next year. Because I don’t wanna be out the sun for so much longer I’ve been on the sun so many years too much too long and was nearly guilt several times a few years ago dramatic to me. There’s a lot to explain to you after abusive suffered, harassment, arrest, and abused year. And they do care about giving a seat breaks and stuff, but still they don’t have control over the web And there’s not enough people, but I come in as best as I can if somebody who has no Zoo education and only worked one season at that Zoo got a part-time job there then I should be able to get something like her job if not better. In Jesus Name Amen.

We hear your weariness, and we lift it before the Lord with you. The toll of long hours under the sun, the weight of past abuse and harassment, and the frustration of feeling undervalued in your work are not lost on us. You are seen, and your labor is known by God, who promises in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." We pray that He would grant you the rest your body and spirit so desperately need.

We also recognize your desire for justice and fairness in your workplace. It grieves us to hear of the mistreatment you’ve endured, and we stand with you in asking God to intervene. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Your work is not in vain, and we pray that God would open doors for you, specifically at the zoo or park district, where your skills and experience are honored. May He provide a part-time role that aligns with your needs, sparing you from the exhaustion of full-time sun exposure while still allowing you to do meaningful work.

We must also gently address the mention of guilt you’ve carried. If this stems from past actions or circumstances beyond your control, we want to remind you of 1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." You are not defined by your past, and God’s grace is sufficient to cover even the heaviest burdens. We pray that He would lift any lingering shame and replace it with His peace.

As you seek employment, we encourage you to trust in Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." God knows your needs better than you do, and He will guide your steps. If it is His will for you to continue in this field, He will provide a way that honors your health and well-being. If not, He may be leading you toward something new, something that brings restoration and joy.

Let us pray with you now:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up his weariness, his past hurts, and his hopes for the future. Lord, You see the years of labor he has given, the sun’s relentless heat, and the emotional weight he carries. We ask that You would grant him rest, both physically and spiritually. Provide him with a part-time role that values his experience and spares him from further exhaustion. If it is Your will for him to remain in this field, open the right doors at the zoo or park district. If not, lead him to a new path that brings healing and purpose.

Father, we also ask that You would heal the wounds of abuse and harassment he has endured. Replace his pain with Your peace, and remind him that he is deeply loved by You. Forgive any guilt he carries that is not his to bear, and fill him with the assurance of Your grace. Strengthen his trust in You, knowing that You are his Provider and Protector.

We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our burdens so we could find rest in Him. Amen."

Hold fast to the truth that God is working even when the path isn’t clear. You are not forgotten, and your labor is not in vain. We will continue to stand with you in prayer as you seek His will for this next season.

It’s understandable that after all those years in the sun you feel worn down, and that the thought of another full summer outdoors brings back the memory of how hard it’s been, even when you did your best. We hear you. Wanting a part‑time position that lets you keep working at a place you actually like, without pushing your body past its limits, is perfectly reasonable.

You’ve already proven you can show up, learn on the job, and carry your weight even without a zoo‑specific education. That counts. When you see someone else land the kind of role you want, it’s normal to think, “Why not me too?” Let that be a quiet reminder, not a discouragement, you’re not less deserving.

Since you’ve already put in a season, this could be a good time to let your supervisor or the zoo’s HR person know you’re interested in staying on part‑time before the season wraps up. A face‑to‑face conversation where you simply say, “I’d really love to stay on, and part‑time would be the right fit for me right now, is there a way we can make that work?” can plant a seed early. If the zoo can’t offer that right away, the park district might, and you’ll have options.

We’re also sorry to hear that last year brought abuse, harassment, and an arrest, things no one should have to carry alone. Those experiences matter. If you haven’t already, it may help to have someone safe to talk with about that, whether a trusted friend, a pastor, or a counselor. You don’t have to unpack all of it here; just know we’re sorry you went through it, and we’re asking God to bring healing where it’s still tender.

Let’s pray quietly together:

Lord Jesus, thank You for seeing every hard day this visitor has already endured. You know the toll the sun and the stress have taken on body and spirit. Please open a clear door to a part‑time job, at the zoo if that’s best, or through the park district, with hours that are genuinely sustainable. Give them supervisors who notice their dependability, and bring the right opportunity at the right moment. And for the deeper hurts from the past year, we ask for Your gentle mending, a fresh sense of safety, and people who will truly listen. In Your name, Amen.

Lord, we lift this person up to You today. I pray that You help them with their job situation. Help them to get a part-time job that You have ordained for them to have.

Help them to rest & most importantly rest in You Jesus, as you say in Matthew 11:28 "Come to Me all you who are weary & burdened & I will give you rest". Help this person to accept Your invitation of rest. Help them to be hard-working, but know when to rest.

Lord, I pray that this person seeks Your will & not their own. I pray that they lean on Your understanding & not their own.

Lord, I pray that wherever You want them to work & for however long You want them to work it will be so in Jesus name.

Lord, I pray that this person is able to work part time, instead of full-time, so that they are able to rest in You, to connect with You on a deeper level. Lord, I pray that the time they don't have free now, but will do with a part time job, that time goes to You in Jesus name. Nothing is impossible for You Lord, let Your will be done. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

In all your toil under the blazing sun, you have cried to the Lord for relief, and He does not despise the sigh of the weary. Remember Job, who kept the way of the Lord come fair, come foul, through storm and through calm. He did not charge God foolishly, though his trials were excruciating. You speak of heat that near overcame you; so be it, but the God who preserved Job from sin can preserve you from fainting if you lean on Him. Yet let this trial drive you to the place where Job sat in ashes, saying, “Behold, I am vile,” and where he ceased from questioning his Maker. There is a rest which remaineth for the people of God, and it is found not in escaping hard labour but in taking Christ’s yoke and learning of Him who is meek and lowly in heart. That rest is given now to those who come to Jesus, a perfect rest even in the midst of service.

Fret not about full-time or part-time, nor eye your neighbour’s portion, for He appointeth to each his lot. The Lord turned the captivity of Job, not when he demanded his rights, but when he prayed for his offending friends. Pray then for those at ### who have mistreated you, and in that act you shall find your own spirit cooled and your own captivity turned. Cast this burden on the Lord, trust Him with the spring and summer yet unseen, and believe that whether you labour under the sun or under a gentler light, your times are in His hand. He who giveth His beloved sleep will provide what is sufficient, and the eternal rest of heaven shall at last wipe away every scorching memory. Seek first the kingdom, and all these things shall be added unto you.

You come asking for a part-time job, not full-time, because the sun has been excruciating and you fear its heat. But consider: the sun that scorches your body is under God's command. He made it stand still for Joshua and go back for Hezekiah. If He wills, He can shade you or give you strength to endure. Yet your greater concern should be the sun of righteousness and whether your soul shines with His radiance. You have suffered, you say, abuse, harassment, arrest, and these are real pains. But do not let them fix your eyes only on earthly relief. The rich man in the parable thought only of his ease, and he found no comfort in the flame. The poor man at his gate endured much, and angels carried him to rest. Do not set your heart on avoiding toil, but on bearing it with thanksgiving.

You compare yourself to another who got a part-time job without zoo education, saying you deserve at least as much. This is the very spirit that tore the church at Corinth apart: one saying, "I am of this teacher," another, "I am of that," each exalting himself. What do you have that you did not receive? The sun shines on all, the rain falls on all. If God grants you a job, receive it as mercy, not as a wage you are owed because another received it. The desire to have "just as good, if not better" is not from humility but from a proud heart. True riches lie in wanting nothing, not in grasping for what your neighbor has.

You say you do not want full-time work because of the sun. I ask you, what if God permits the heat to purify your soul? The righteous will shine as the sun in the kingdom of the Father, but for now we are refined in small trials. Do not flee every discomfort as if this life were meant for ease. Those holy ones who wake before the sun to sing hymns do not complain of weariness; they have their conscience bright, and no care troubles them. Can you not offer your labor to God, asking Him to give you strength for the hours you work, whether in cool or heat? He who delivered you from sin can also deliver you from fear of suffering. The sick man who, when healed, returns to his sickness loses all. If God grants you a lighter burden, do not let it make you soft, but use it to serve Him with joy. If the burden remains, know that His grace is sufficient.

So pray, but let your prayer be this: "Lord, give me what You see fit for my salvation, whether part-time or full-time, under sun or shade. Let me not envy others or seek my own comfort above all, but trust in Your care. And above all, make my soul ready for the day that has no sunset." Amen.
