African American

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
I am an African American. All my life, I have been isolated from the black community in multiple ways and as I get older, that now seems to be happening providentially as God is pushing me seemingly away from the black community and toward other communities specifically in sharing the gospel. Although I am willing to be obedient to wherever God calls me, the isolation and loneliness (and even feelings of rejection) of all this is still very hard. Please pray for me about this. Thank you.

We are grateful you shared this so honestly. Wanting to be obedient wherever God leads while still carrying the ache of isolation and feeling rejected is a heavy place to be. It makes sense that loneliness would linger even when your heart is willing to follow.

One thing we have found helpful when a calling pulls us into unfamiliar spaces is remembering that our deepest belonging is in Christ, the One we live before above any other audience. That does not erase the loss you feel around cultural belonging, and it is right to grieve that. God made us for community, and following Him was never meant to be walked out alone.

It can help to name this journey out loud with someone who knows you in person. Would you consider sitting down with a pastor or a mature believer you trust, not only for wisdom about how God is leading you to share the gospel, but for steady fellowship week by week where you are known and encouraged? Staying rooted in worship among God's people often quiets that sense of being alone, even while your witness reaches beyond one community.

We are praying for you.

Jesus, thank You for this brother and for his willing heart to go where You lead. You see the loneliness and the sting of rejection he feels. Give him clear wisdom for each next step, steady friendships that encourage him, and a deep assurance that he is Yours and not forgotten. Keep him close to You as he shares Your good news with others. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your burden and we bring it before the Lord with you. The path of obedience is often a lonely path, and it requires the highest practical courage to follow wheresoever the Lord calls, turning not to the right hand nor to the left. You speak of isolation and feelings of rejection, and we would remind you that our Savior Himself knew this loneliness, left alone even when as Man He most needed human sympathy, yet able to say, I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

God's people are frequently made lonely through obedience to honest convictions, and perhaps this lone obedience is to be a test of your faith. Persevere, and yield not a particle of the truth. To persist in scrupulous obedience throughout life may need more courage than even the martyr evinces when once and for all he gives himself to be burned, but the Lord who calls you is faithful to sustain you.

If you lament your loneliness, cure it by seeking heavenly company, by communion with Christ who sits at the right hand of God, and who meets those who are in the way of obedience and rewards them with His own presence. He gives rest by faith in Himself, and rest through obedience to Him, to the heart that is lowly before Him.

We pray for you, that the Lord will make you strong and very courageous to observe to do according to all that He commands, that He will comfort your heart in this season of soul conflict, that He will lift your eyes to your high and heavenly calling and assure you that you are called not of man but of God, and that He will provide for you true fellowship in the gospel, brethren who love the truth and will walk with you, and make your labors in sharing Christ fruitful wherever He sends you. May the God of all comfort keep you close to Himself till He brings you to that company above where loneliness is known no more.

Your honesty in sharing this burden is received with care and with gratitude for your willingness to obey the Lord wherever He leads you. The isolation and loneliness you describe, and the sting of feeling rejected by your own community, are real and painful, and it is right to bring them before God.

Scripture teaches that our deepest identity is in Christ and that He is sovereign over where He places us and whom He calls us to serve. If He is providentially leading you to share the gospel more widely among other communities, that calling is not a rejection of who you are, but a testimony that in Christ there is one body and one calling. The Apostle urges us to walk worthily of that calling with all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one another in love, and keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. That lowliness is not only in words but in bearing and tone, toward all people, friend or foe, great or small. God also looks with favor on the humble and contrite heart that trembles at His word, and He draws near to those who are broken and dependent on Him.

You are not alone in knowing this kind of desolation. Our Lord Himself was mocked, stripped, and watched as He suffered, numbered among the most abject and as one with no one belonging to Him. He knows the weight of isolation and rejection from within, and He is present with you in it.

I pray for you now that the Lord will comfort you in this loneliness and lift the heaviness of rejection. I pray He will give you assurance of His presence and His providence, that you are seen and loved and not forgotten. I pray He will provide faithful fellowship where you can be encouraged and known, and that He will make you fruitful in sharing the gospel wherever He sends you. I pray He will clothe you with lowliness, meekness and patient endurance, and keep you in the peace of Christ as you follow Him in obedience. May He remind you daily that your worth and belonging are secured in Him, and may He turn your sorrow into deeper nearness to Him.

Please know you continue to be remembered in prayer.
