Addiction

Disciple of Prayer
I'd like to ask for Prayer to be free from a very bad p**n addiction that I have been struggling with for many years , I don't want to continue living like this , I feel defiled and horrible , please pray that I would be able to permanently stop and seek Jesus

We thank you for your honesty and humility in bringing this struggle into the light, and we stand with you in this battle for freedom. We know the shame and feeling of being defiled that this addiction brings, but we want you to know that conviction is from the Lord calling you to repentance, while condemnation and hopelessness are from the enemy. There is no sin that is beyond the cleansing blood of Jesus, and your desire to permanently stop and seek Jesus is evidence that God is already at work in your heart.

The Bible is very clear about pornography, for it is sexual immorality and adultery of the heart. Jesus said, Everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28. We are commanded, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18. This sin not only defiles the body which is meant to be a temple of the Holy Spirit, but it distorts God's beautiful design for sexuality, which He created to be enjoyed only within the lifelong marriage covenant between a man and a woman. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:15, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We gently but firmly rebuke this addiction as sin that must be forsaken, not managed, and we call you to turn from it completely.

Yet we also bring you great hope, because you do not have to fight this in your own strength. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. And, If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36. Your past does not have to define your future.

We encourage you to walk in practical repentance and renewal. God promises, No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. You must flee and make a way of escape, which means radically removing access, installing filters and accountability software, and bringing this into the light with a mature Christian brother or pastor, for Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. James 5:16. Do not walk alone. We also urge you to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2 and to Walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16. This means daily seeking Jesus through His Word, prayer, and worship, and setting your mind on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure. Philippians 4:8. When temptation comes, cry out to Him immediately and replace the lie with truth.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before Your throne of grace and lift up our brother to You. We thank You that he desires to be free and to seek You. Lord, we confess this sin of pornography before You and ask for Your complete forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus. Create in him a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within him. Psalm 51:10. Break the chains of this addiction that has held him for many years and set him free indeed. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may have power to say no to the flesh and yes to You. Help him to flee every form of sexual immorality and to glorify You in his body. Give him courage to confess to a trusted godly man for accountability and to walk in the light. Guard his eyes, his mind, and his heart, and renew his thoughts daily in Your Word. When he feels defiled and horrible, remind him that he is forgiven, washed, and made new in Christ. Strengthen him to walk in purity one day at a time and to pursue You above all else. We pray that You would restore to him the joy of Your salvation and lead him toward wholeness and, in Your timing, toward a pure and holy marriage if it is Your will. We trust You to finish the good work You have started in him. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Thank you for writing so honestly about something you have carried for years. It takes real courage to name this struggle and to say you do not want to live this way anymore. Feeling defiled and horrible is a heavy burden, and we hear how much you want to be free and to seek Jesus wholeheartedly.

We want you to know you are not alone in this fight, even when it feels isolating. Shame often tells us to hide, and hiding can make the cycle stronger. Bringing it into the light with another trusted person can be a powerful step toward freedom, not because that person fixes it, but because you no longer have to battle in secret.

One practical step that helps many is to invite one safe, mature believer into this with you, like a pastor, counselor or trusted mentor, someone you can be honest with regularly and who can check in with you and pray with you. You might also consider putting simple practical guardrails in place together, like accountability software or limits on when and how you are online when you are most tempted.

We are praying for you and we will keep praying.

Father, we lift our brother to You and thank You for his desire to turn to You. Please give him hope, strength for each day, healing from shame, and wisdom for the path ahead. Surround him with supportive help and draw him closer to Jesus. In Jesus name, amen.

I pray for divine healing for your addiction. May your mind, body and spirit be cleansed with purity and that you focus on healing whatever has led you to this addiction. I pray that God gives you the clarity to discover and heal at the source level of your issue, not just asking God to make you stop or take it away. God is waiting on you to heal the internal and emotional/mental struggle that creates addiction. So I pray you get to the root and begin a new way forward to health. And so it is. Amen

We have heard your honest and humble cry, and we thank God that you are not at peace with this sin but feel its defilement and long to be free. That very sorrow is a good gift from above, from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. He has not turned from you, and He will not turn away any soul that turns to Him through Jesus Christ.

You are right to feel that this sin defiles, for there shall never enter into heaven anything that defiles, and the only hope we can have of eternal life is by being parted from sin. Yet there is hope, for you are a prisoner of hope, within reach of One who sets free from sin. The Lord Jesus Christ saves His people from their sins, not in their sins. No earthly power can bring real freedom to the soul, it is grace and grace alone that brings it by the blood of the Covenant. That blood washes black sinners whiter than driven snow, and where that freedom comes, no form of bondage can make a man a slave.

We will pray for you, and we urge you to cry to God daily to preserve you from evil. Keep yourself unspotted from the world. When you find that which is loose or impure, leave it, get away from it, you do not need to be muddied. Flee the places, the images, the idle hours that have been temptations, for the same trial may be a temptation from Satan's side and a trial from God's side, and you must fight against sin till it is utterly put away from you. Turn away from your feebleness to His strength, and from your sinfulness to His blood.

Let us pray together for you.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this soul who confesses his bondage and desires to be clean. Forgive him through the blood of the Covenant shed on the cross, wash him and make him whole. Break the power of this sin that has held him captive for many years, and set him at liberty at once and forever by Thy mighty grace. Give him a new heart that hates the sin he once loved, and grant him strength to keep himself unspotted from the world. Furnish him abundantly from Thy flock, from Thy threshing floor and from Thy winepress, that having been set free he may not go out empty but may walk in newness of life. Keep his feet from the path of temptation, fill his mind with Thy Word, and let him know that he has passed from death unto life by faith in Christ Jesus. Preserve him, sanctify him, and make him to rejoice in a holy freedom indeed. In the name of Jesus Christ our deliverer we ask it, Amen.

Take courage and seek Jesus daily. Come to Him at mealtime, in the morning and evening, in meditation upon the Scriptures and in prayer, and feed upon the Bread of Life. If you fall, confess it at once and return to the fountain that never ceases to cleanse. He who has begun a good work in you will not forsake you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
