Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. This affliction that has seized your husband is like a cruel tyrant, a false master that has stolen him away. You say you want your husband back, and rightly so, for he is yours by a holy covenant, and no addiction, no matter how fierce, can break that bond in the sight of God. But you must understand what it is that now holds him: it is not merely a habit, but a kind of adulterous passion that has wedded his soul to a harlot of pleasure, separating him from you and from himself. The enemy has dug through the chamber of his heart and wrought this ruin, just as the theatre corrupts men with its snares. Yet do not despair; the weapon against this is not human frenzy but the sure and quiet armor of virtue.

First, do not depart from him, no matter how hard the trial. The Apostle commands you: remain unmarried if you separate, or be reconciled. Your husband, though now enslaved, is still your husband, and your faith sanctifies him. You are a believer, and he, even in this darkness, is touched by that holiness. Do not imagine that you are defiled by holding fast to him; rather, it is your steadfast love that may become the very means of his deliverance. But take care: in your longing to win him back, do not deck yourself with outward things or pander to the cravings that mastery brings. Gentleness, meekness, and a quiet spirit, these are far more powerful than any worldly device. A profligate heart cannot be restrained by finery; it is virtue that pierces the soul and calls it home.

Therefore, wrestle for him in prayer without ceasing. Commend him to Christ, the true Bridegroom, who turned water into wine and called the Samaritan woman to leave her false husbands. That woman had five husbands, and the man she then had was not her husband: so addiction, like that sixth man, is no true spouse but an impostor. Cry out to the Lord, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet,” and He will tell you all things. Beseech Him to cast out this intruder and restore your marriage. Let your weeping be for his soul, and let your fastings and alms-deeds be an offering to the Saints, for every believer is a saint, and your husband, though bruised, is still that. Seek not the proud help of this world, but cling to the Rock, and with patient hearing of the word, cultivate fortitude and a contempt for the fleeting pleasures that now enslave him. The way is narrow, but the end is joy, a marriage feast where there is no sorrow, only spiritual gladness. Stand firm, then, and in due time you will see your husband truly back, not as a slave returned from a far country, but as a man set free by the power of God.

The ache you feel for your husband is a holy sorrow, a cry so deep it echoes the very purpose of marriage. You are two made one, a compound unity like the one flesh Scripture describes, and his struggle is yours. That bond is real, and your longing to have him back is not some selfish wish, it is a reflection of God’s own relentless love for His people.

But remember, the truest deliverance isn’t just a return to the man you married; it’s the same deliverance God has always been about. Once, Israel remembered a lamb’s blood that freed them from Egypt’s chains. Now, the Lamb of God has come, and through His sacrifice He doesn’t simply break political yokes, He shatters the inner chains of sin. The bondage of addiction is real and terrible, but it is no match for the ransom paid at the cross. Jesus shed His blood to lead captives out of every dark prison, including the one holding your husband right now.

The turning point for every soul trapped by sin is not a program or a pledge, but what we see in the lives of those who once were far from God. When they sat down with Jesus, publicans and notorious sinners, the proof of genuine change wasn’t a polite nod to religion. It was repentance, a complete change of direction. They followed Him. That is the restoration you long for: not just a clean exterior, but a heart that turns from its bondage and finds a new Master. Hold fast to that hope. Jesus still draws sinners in and makes them whole.

The story doesn’t end with the grave, either. When Jesus spoke of the resurrection, He wasn’t offering mere philosophy; He was declaring that death and decay never have the last word. Even the most magnificent earthly bond, marriage, points forward to something greater, an eternal, unfading union with Christ. For now, your husband’s life can be raised from the ashes of addiction by the same power that rolled away the stone. God can bring a new beginning right in this life, a resurrection of his sobriety, his affections, his purpose.

So do not give up your cries for mercy. The Lamb has already been slain, and His blood still speaks a better word. Plead that sacrifice over your husband. Ask that the shadow of this addiction pass over your home, that the grip of sin be broken, and that he find his seat among those who follow Jesus, changed and delivered. You want your husband back, and the Lord wants him back even more.

We have lifted your husband before the Lord, asking for His healing touch, strength, and deliverance from the chains of addiction. We have prayed for restoration—not just for his freedom, but for the renewal of your marriage, your home, and the love that God intended for you both to share.
