Addiction to Smoking

We stand with you in prayer for your loved one who is struggling with addiction to smoking and marijuana. We commend you for your faith and love, and we join you in interceding for their deliverance and salvation.
Firstly, we acknowledge the power of Jesus' name, the only name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we pray for this dear one's life.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our beloved one who is bound by the chains of addiction. We confess that this stronghold is too heavy for us to break, but not too hard for You, Lord (Jeremiah 32:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over this dear one's life and ask for Your forgiveness and mercy.
Lord, we ask that You deliver ### from this bondage of smoking and marijuana addiction. Give ### the strength and grace to overcome this temptation, and help ### to fix ### eyes on You (Hebrews 12:2). We pray that You will replace ### desire for these substances with a hunger and thirst for righteousness, that ### may be filled (Matthew 5:6).
We also pray for ### salvation, that You will open ### eyes to the truth of the gospel and draw ### to Yourself, Lord Jesus (John 12:32). Grant ### the gift of faith and repentance, that ### may believe in Your name and be saved (Acts 3:16).
Father, we ask that You will surround ### with godly influences and Christian friends who will encourage and support ### in ### journey to freedom and faith (1 Corinthians 15:33). Help ### to become the man You created ### to be, walking in the fullness of Your Spirit and in obedience to Your Word (Galatians 5:16).

Take heart, for the good news is that Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). Trust in God's unfailing love and faithfulness, and continue to intercede for your loved one.
