addiction , sicknesss

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up and ourselves before the Lord. Father, we know that addiction and sickness are not Your perfect will for us, for You desire that we live abundant, healthy lives in Christ. We confess that turning to substances like kava for comfort or escape is a form of bondage that dishonors You, for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Lord, we repent of relying on anything other than You for peace, strength, and healing.

For , we pray earnestly for her diabetes. We ask You, Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals, to touch her body and bring restoration. Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." We stand on this promise, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Give her the discipline to manage her health according to Your wisdom, and surround her with godly support.

For the one struggling with drinking kava, we rebuke this addiction in the name of Jesus. The Bible warns us in Proverbs 20:1, "Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise." While kava may not be alcohol, any substance that controls us or dulls our spirit is not of You. We declare that Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18), and we claim that freedom now. We pray for a renewed mind (Romans 12:2) and a heart that seeks You above all else. Replace the desire for kava with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6).

Lord, we acknowledge that we cannot overcome these struggles in our own strength. We need You, Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or set free (Acts 4:12). If either of us has not fully surrendered to You as Lord and Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." We invite Your Holy Spirit to fill us, guide us, and empower us to walk in victory.

We also pray for accountability and community. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." Surround and this dear one with believers who will walk alongside them in love and truth.

Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and declare that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Strengthen our faith, renew our hope, and fill us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We commit these burdens to You, knowing that You care for us (1 Peter 5:7). In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We’re holding up both of these needs with you in prayer. It matters that you reached out, not just for but for your own struggle with kava. Thank you for trusting us with that.

For , living with diabetes can be exhausting, and we ask God to bring healing, steady energy, and sharp wisdom for the doctors and treatments involved. We also pray she senses His close presence on the hard days.

And for you, wanting to stop drinking kava is a significant step. We know that habits like this often start as a way to quiet stress or escape something painful, and it can be tough to untangle. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Consider letting a trusted friend, pastor, or even a Christian counselor walk this out with you, someone who can offer practical support and not just well-meaning advice. Sometimes talking with a doctor is wise too, especially if the kava use has been heavy, just to be safe about any physical side effects as you stop.

We’re praying that God strengthens your resolve and uncovers healthier ways to find the calm or rest you’ve been seeking in kava. He cares about your whole self, body, mind, and spirit, and He is for your freedom, not your shame.

Jesus, we lift up right now, steady her blood sugar, give her body resilience, and wrap her in Your peace. And for this dear person writing to us, grant the courage to take the next right step, the wisdom to seek good help, and the daily grace to let go of what has held them. In Your name we ask this. Amen.

The sickness of the body and the chains of a hurtful habit are both bonds that only the Almighty can break. You cry out for her diabetes and for your kava, and it is one great cry for deliverance, from the pit of physical ruin and from the power of sin’s grip. Remember, the Lord who smote Egypt with plagues and yet brought forth His people with silver and gold is the same God who can command health into a failing frame and snap every fetter of addiction. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations; even the least thing about Christ is packed with curing virtue.

For your companion, plead the Sun of Righteousness to rise with healing in His wings, for there is no disease beyond His word of restoration. And for yourself, know that deliverance from the power of kava is as truly the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. The prisoner was ready to be executed, but the King’s own Son bore the penalty, so the clock of mercy in heaven may strike this very hour for you. You cannot break this chain; it must be of free grace alone.

Stay at the brook Jabbok and cross it with trembling, expecting to meet Esau and find him kissing you. Look to Jesus upon the cross; there is life for a look at the Crucified One. His teaching hour is the healing hour. After your deliverance, your song shall be, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” Go now, and rehearse the ransom found, Christ Jesus, for He will bring you forth.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

This sickness of the body, this addiction that holds you, both cry out for divine mercy. I have known many who, like Lazarus, heard that their affliction was not unto death, yet when the end seemed contrary, they did not accuse God of falsehood. They held fast, knowing that our Lord permits such trials not to destroy but to reveal His glory, strengthening faith as He strengthens the soul. For the one who battles diabetes, let prayer be unceasing, seeking healing yet resting in the will of the Physician who wounds only to make whole.

And you who struggle with kava, do you not see? This is a sickness of the spirit, a chain that numbs and binds. But Christ attends to the incurably diseased. He did not abandon even Judas, though he refused the remedy.

So do not despair. You have endeavored many times and fallen many times, yet after ten blows the tree that did not fall is then brought low by a single stroke. That last success is built on every previous struggle: even when you perceived no fruit, the root was being prepared. Persist in prayer, in fasting, in fleeing the occasions of sin.

The power of healing is a gift, but greater still is the teaching that calls you to repentance and the love that bears all things. Do not seek only bodily cures, for what does it profit to heal the flesh if the soul remains sick unto eternal death? Turn, then, with weeping and with hope. Lay hold of the mercy that is ever near, and do not cease from the healing treatment.

For the Lord who raises the dead has power to restore both health to the body and sobriety to the heart. Only abide in Him, and bring forth the fruits of a changed life.
