Your words speak of an account missing, of a site now closed to you, and your heart is troubled by this loss. But let me ask you, what is the deeper matter? All the water outside the ship is of small account, it is when the leak admits the water to the hold that there is danger. Has your soul been as absent from the means of grace as your fingers have been absent from this site? The loss of a page or a profile is a trifle compared with the loss of communion with Christ. If you have not operated these past months, has your heart also ceased to operate in prayer and in the Word? The Lord hears Ephraim bemoaning himself, not over his lost money or estate, but over his lost self. Cry to Jehovah as Ephraim did: “You have chastised me and I was chastised.” Let your deep trouble be poured out unto your God.
If you have wandered, take courage. Peter’s story is not called Peter’s fall, it is Peter’s restoration. That singular combination, the crowing of the cock and a look from the Lord, brought him back. One look from Christ can sever you from the crowd of neglect and bring you again into the warmth of His countenance. Do you think He has cast you aside because you have been idle? God Himself says, “They shall be as though I had not cast them aside.” The Savior’s sacrifice is available for you still. Come back to Him, there is such peace, such rest with Him. Then, when you are converted and restored to your first love, you may seek also to recover the ground you have lost, even in such secondary things as this account.
But know that restoration is a long process. Weakened limbs only recover strength by slow degrees. You may not at once run and leap as before, yet in each small increase of strength acknowledge a new claim upon your affection. Trust the Lord with what you call missing. He is no less sovereign over passwords and portals than He is over souls. Cast not away the blessed alternative, choose not to be ruined. I shall pray that the hindrance be removed, but I shall pray more earnestly that whatever the Lord permits regarding this site, you shall know the surpassing joy of being found in Him, as though you had never wandered away.

You speak of an account missing and a site you cannot open. Consider instead the account you keep with God, which no earthly administrator can lock and no lapse of time can erase. The loss you feel now may have been permitted to turn your heart from these passing things to the one true confidence, which has great recompense of reward. Cast not away that confidence; you have it still, if you do not let it slip.
Perhaps these months of not operating the site were not neglect but a quiet call to examine what you hold most dear. God often permits small frustrations to amend something within us, just as Christ allowed Peter’s fall that his faith might not fail in the end. So do not be faint-hearted or given to despair, for such passions make a hell within the soul. Instead, bear this trial with meekness and long-suffering, remembering that Christ Himself answered much provocation with silence.
Pray, then, and ask the brethren to pray for you, for we all need one another’s prayers to stand. And do not imagine that your good standing among us is lost because of this earthly hindrance; it is not. But let the fear of giving an account before God keep you from undue anxiety over what is temporary. Fix your mind on your latter end, and this small trouble will seem light.
