Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask God to touch the heart of your landlady and remove every obstacle to your payment, yet consider what you truly seek. Are these requests made to please God or to secure your own comfort? The Apostle says we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Gospel, and so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who proves our hearts. When you come before Him with such detailed commands about money and moving, examine whether you ask for grace to pay next week so that you might live righteously, or merely so that your anxiety might cease. The present life is a sleep, and the things in it are no way different from dreams. Those who grow rich in a dream, when day breaks, find they were rich to no purpose. Do not make provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. To care for the body is permitted, for health, not for wantonness or the soothing of every fear. Yet your prayer rushes past this, declaring what God must do, as if He were a debtor to your timetable.

Look at the coat of Christ, woven from the top, which the soldiers did not divide. They parted His other garments, but this they left whole, casting lots for it. Some say this shows the Crucified was not simply man, but had also the Divinity from above. Others note the poorness of the garment, that in dress as in all things He followed a simple fashion. If the Lord of all wore such poverty, why do you speak as though His chief work were to open doors and process payments? You ask Him to replace anxiety with peace, yet you do not first seek the healing of your soul from the fever of these desires. The leper said, Lord, if You will, You can make me clean, and Christ answered, I will, be clean, confirming what was said. But if the leper had demanded cleansing as a right, would not the Lord have reproved him? Come then with the leper’s humility, not with a list of declarations.

Pray rather that His will be done, whether you move into this house or another, whether the payment comes today or is delayed for your correction. Make provision for the flesh only as far as necessity requires, and spend all your industry on the care of spiritual things. Then you will find that the true obstacle is not the heart of a landlady or the sluggishness of debtors, but the weight of your own earthly attachments. God is not slow to provide, but He often withholds what we clutch at, to give us what we truly need. Entrust yourself to Him who knows your situation better than you, and seek first His kingdom.

Your prayer rises from a heart that knows where help comes from, and that is no small thing. When you ask God to go before you into that conversation with your landlady, you are leaning on the same truth that runs through all of Scripture: the living God moves in the affairs of people. He can turn a heart, open a door, and grant you favor in the sight of another. Think of how a woman like Esther, carrying a desperate request, stepped into a king’s presence and the scepter was extended to her. That was not random kindness; it was heaven’s hand upon a human decision. The same God can incline your landlady to extend grace for a week. He knows the tension in your chest. He is not far off.

Yet hold this gently: human favor is a fragile thing. The Scriptures remind us that charm can be deceptive and surface attractiveness is empty. What you truly need is not merely the smile of another person but the steady, unfailing favor of the Lord. A woman who reverences Him, who places her confidence in His provision, finds a deeper praise than any fleeting human approval can give. So as you speak, your hope is not anchored to her mood that day but to the God who can make even an unwilling heart yield.

There is something else in your request that I want you to see. You asked about the money being withheld by those who owe you. You understand that the timing is in God’s hands, and that is right. I am reminded of an ancient provision in the law: every seventh year, debts were not to be demanded in payment. Not because the debt was gone, but because God was making room for His own work of release. He left space for Himself to move. When you pray for those payments to be processed and obstacles removed, you are essentially asking God to enforce a kind of holy release over your finances. He can touch the very systems and minds that are causing the delay. He is not limited by paperwork or forgetfulness. He can resolve what we cannot.

I do hear in your words a real grasp of the only true foundation for any of this. You ended with the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and you anchored your provision to God’s riches in glory through Him. That is the ultimate provision. God has made one eternal provision for your sin, your guilt, and your standing before Him: His own Son. If He has done that, if He has put away your greatest debt through the cross, will He not also care for rent and overdue payments? The same Spirit who testifies to your forgiveness is also the Comforter who walks with you through financial strain. So when anxiety knocks, let that truth answer the door. Do not let your heart be hardened by fear, for God accommodates our weakness. Just as He gave instructions for the leper’s cleansing that left room for a miracle, He can do what no bank transfer or human promise can do. He can stretch what little you have and move the hand that holds back what you need.

Walk into that conversation with the quiet confidence of someone who has already received the only favor that ultimately matters. Speak kindly, be transparent, and trust that the same God who controls the king’s heart controls your landlady’s. And while you wait for the breakthrough, let your waiting be seasoned with hope, not corroded by resentment. The provider is working. The release will come. Your part is to rest in the one who made the full provision for your soul and therefore holds every smaller need in a steady grip.

We are so grateful that you entrusted us with your heartfelt prayer request, sharing your need for both a place to call home and the provision to secure it. It has been our privilege to stand with you in faith, lifting up your conversation with your new landlady, asking the Lord to soften her heart with kindness and favor. We have prayed earnestly that every word spoken would be wrapped in God’s peace and goodwill, and that doors would swing open in ways only He can orchestrate.

We have also joined you in crying out to our Provider, interceding for those payments that have been delayed or withheld. We asked the Lord to move mightily upon the hearts of those responsible, removing every obstacle and cutting through every delay, so that what is rightfully yours would be released without further hindrance. We declared that no barrier is too great for our God, who makes a way where there seems to be no way, and who supplies all our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Now, as the days have passed, we want to continue standing with you in this season. If the Lord has already answered your prayers—if your landlady has shown you grace, if the funds have come through, or if a new opportunity for housing has opened up—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report! Please share how God has moved so that we may rejoice with you and give Him all the glory.

If, however, the answer has not yet come, or if the situation feels unchanged, we encourage you to post your request again as a new prayer need. We are committed to walking with you in this journey, lifting your needs before the throne of grace until the breakthrough arrives. Do not grow weary in waiting, for the Lord is faithful, and His timing is perfect. He sees your trust in Him, and He will not fail you.

May you continue to feel His peace in the midst of uncertainty, His hope in the waiting, and His confidence in His promises. We pray that you would sense His nearness and rest in the assurance that He is working on your behalf, even when you cannot yet see the outcome. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and know that we are standing in agreement with you until every need is met.

In Jesus’ mighty and precious name, we pray. Amen.
