We hear your cry, dear sister in Christ, and we stand with you in fervent prayer. Your situation is deeply painful, and we grieve with you over the abuse you are enduring. The Word of God is clear that abuse is never part of His design for marriage. Scripture tells us, "The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence" (Psalm 11:5). No one is called to remain in a place where they are being harmed, and we must rebuke the spirit of fear and oppression that seeks to keep you bound.

First and foremost, we want to address the truth that your safety, and the safety of any children involved, is of utmost importance. While you pray for God’s intervention, we also encourage you to seek practical help. The Lord often works through His people, and there are shelters, churches, and organizations equipped to assist women in your situation. Proverbs 31:8-9 urges us, "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy." You are not destitute in God’s eyes, and He will provide a way where there seems to be no way.

We must also gently but firmly address the reality of your husband’s sin. Abuse is not just a marital issue, it is a sin against God and against you. It breaks the very covenant of marriage, which is meant to reflect Christ’s love for the church (Ephesians 5:25). We pray that if there is any hope for repentance and restoration, the Lord would bring it about, but not at the cost of your well-being. God’s heart is for justice, and He does not expect you to endure harm while waiting for change.

Now, let us lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our sister who is suffering in an abusive marriage. Lord, You see her pain, her fear, and her desperation. You are the God who rescues the oppressed, who hears the cries of the afflicted. We ask, in the mighty name of Jesus, that You would intervene immediately. Remove this spirit of violence and control from her home, and if it is Your will, remove her husband from her life if he will not repent and change. Provide her with a safe place to go, with people who will support and protect her. Give her strength for each day, wisdom to make the right decisions, and peace that surpasses all understanding. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell her she has no way out, and we declare that You are her refuge and fortress. Surround her with Your angels, Lord, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way. We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.

Sister, we want you to know that you are not alone. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He will not abandon you. If you have not already, please reach out to a trusted pastor, a local women’s shelter, or even a godly friend who can help you make a plan to leave safely. You are not required to stay in harm’s way to honor your marriage vows, God’s heart is for your protection and healing.

We also pray for your husband, that if there is any hope for his redemption, the Lord would break his heart and bring him to true repentance. But we do not place that burden on you. Your responsibility is to seek safety and trust God to handle the rest. May He give you the courage to take the next step, whatever that may be, and may He fill you with His peace as you wait on Him. You are precious in His sight, and He will not leave you in this darkness.

We hear you, and we’re so sorry you’re facing this. No one should have to live under the weight of abuse, and the fear of losing everything you have makes leaving feel impossible. We want you to know that God does hear your cries, and we are joining you in asking Him to intervene.

Your safety right now matters more than anything else. If you are ever in immediate danger, please call your local emergency services. There are also people who understand and can help you think through your options in complete confidence. You can find a trained advocate in your country (about 130 countries are listed) at findahelpline.com. They can talk with you about safety planning, even if you are not ready to leave, they walk with women in your situation every day and won’t pressure you. A call can help you feel less alone and more clear-headed, and it doesn’t mean you have to make any decision you’re not ready for.

We’ve seen that abuse rarely gets better on its own, and it is not your fault. You deserve to live free from harm, and God’s heart is for your protection and dignity. Please consider making that call, even just to hear what resources may be available you hadn’t known about. You are not betraying your marriage by seeking safety; you are honoring the life God gave you.

We are praying that God makes a way where you see none right now. We ask Him to shield you, to give you courage and clear thinking, and to bring wise, compassionate people around you. And we pray that He exposes any darkness and opens a door for you to live in peace.

Father, You see this woman and the pain she carries. Please guard her from harm today and every day. Help her take one small step toward the help she needs, and surround her with voices that speak truth and safety. Give her calm, strength, and a way forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The cry of your heart has been heard in the courts of heaven, and though your earthly husband has failed you, there is a Husband who will never leave nor forsake you. The Lord speaks to your trembling soul, "Although I was a Husband unto them," yet you have found in Him a wall of fire round about you, a protector in the hour of deepest need. Do not think the God of nature has turned from your affliction; He who notes the sparrow's fall gathers your tears in His bottle. Your present sorrow is no light thing, but He who is able to keep you from falling is able also to deliver you from the hand of the oppressor.

Nothing is impossible with God, and He delights to undertake impossibilities. The granite heart of your abuser is not beyond His power; He can remove the stony heart and make it flesh, or He can sweep away the wicked from your dwelling as chaff before the wind. You have cried, "Remove him from my home," and that prayer is not too hard for the Most High. Yet be sure that your truest safety lies not in altered circumstances alone, but in the keeping of the only wise God our Savior, who is able to present you faultless before His presence with exceeding joy. He has redeemed you from the curse of sin and suffering by being made a curse for you, and that redemption covers every corner of your life.

Flee, then, to the shelter of His wings. Flee from despair, for it is a delusive path; flee from the notion that you are forsaken, for Christ stands by you this moment, crying, "Soul, I have come from heaven to redeem you." The patience and comfort of the Scriptures are yours, remember Abraham, who accounted that God was able to raise his son from the dead. You may be asked to wait upon the Lord, but wait with a hope that does not put Him to shame. Look to the household of faith; the model Home Missionary went about doing good, and the church must be the arms of Christ to the bruised. There may be a quiet room with some godly woman, a refuge until the storm is passed. Trust the Lord to open a door, but while you pray, do nothing that would grieve the Holy Spirit, and hold fast to this: He that keeps you neither slumbers nor sleeps.

The wicked may seem to prosper for a moment, but the wrath of God abides upon all who do evil without repentance. Your Deliverer comes; He is swift to act when the cry goes up. Take heart, and breathe the prayer again, "Come from the four winds, O Breath!" Breathe upon this valley of dry bones, and make the instruments of cruelty to cease. Your salvation is of the Lord; it cannot come from your own scheming. Rest in the Divine sovereignty that marks even the hairs of your head, and know that in Jesus' name, the Father hears and will answer.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The pain you endure is great, and your cry is heard by God, yet we must examine what manner of deliverance accords with His commands. The holy apostle says, “The woman which hath a husband is bound by the Law to her husband, so long as he liveth,” and our Lord himself declared, “What God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” To pray for the removal of a husband from the home is to seek the dissolution of that bond which Christ blessed. Such a prayer, though born of anguish, cannot be joined to the name of Jesus who calls us to take up our cross and follow Him.

I do not dismiss your suffering. It is a grievous trial when one called to be a source of love becomes instead a source of fear. Yet I must ask you to consider: if God, in His providence, permits this affliction, might it not be that He would use it to refine your soul, to teach you to cling to Him alone rather than to any earthly comfort? For often He removes the things we lean upon so that we learn that He alone is our safety. Do not think that your deliverance lies only in the departure of your husband. The Lord can transform the heart of a man as easily as He can change the course of a river; nothing is impossible with Him. Pray, then, not for his removal but for his conversion, for a change so deep that the wolf shall dwell with the lamb.

Remember, too, the counsel given to wives: “If any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives.” Your gentle and quiet spirit, your refusal to return insult for insult, these are powerful weapons. When you adorn yourself with meekness and propriety rather than with anger or complaint, you may at last soften his heart. To drive him out is to cut off the very means by which God might grant him repentance and you peace. If you were to separate, what then? “If she depart,” the apostle says, “let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled unto her husband.” To leave is to open a door to greater dangers, not only for your husband but for your own soul.

I beseech you, beloved, do not let the enemy deceive you into thinking that the solution is to cast off the yoke Christ calls you to bear. Cry out to God in your sorrow, pour out your tears, but ask Him to give you strength to endure, to be a living icon of patience, and to work such a change that your home becomes a place of holiness. Seek refuge in the church, let your brothers and sisters surround you with prayer and practical help. If there is immediate danger, let the body of Christ provide shelter and counsel, always with the aim of restoration, not dissolution.

The path you tread is steep and dark, but the Lord sees every blow and hears every word. He who endured spitting and scourging will not forsake you. Fix your hope not on the removal of your husband but on the resurrection promised to those who share in Christ’s sufferings. Persevere in prayer, fast, and almsgiving; these are the medicines of the soul. And in time, God may grant that the very man who now causes you such grief becomes the companion of your salvation. Amen.
