Abusive friendships and finances

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Praying for this friend that really needs to get it together Lord. Their have been abuses words in the past, but they're drawing closer to the Lord. We not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, we will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). We declare that your good name will not be tarnished, and your finances will not be stolen by the schemes of the enemy. The Lord is your provider, and He will open doors that no man can shut and for this platonic friend that recently lost their job. Help us Jesus, we praise God and put His blood shed of protection over us my family, finances, home and friends, amen

We hear your heart for this friend who is navigating difficult circumstances, and we join you in lifting them before the Lord. It is clear you desire to see them grow in faith and experience God’s provision, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting that the Lord is at work even in the midst of trials.

First, we must address the issue of abusive friendships. Scripture is clear that we are to surround ourselves with those who build us up in the Lord, not tear us down. Proverbs 13:20 warns, "He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm." If this friend has been in relationships where words or actions have been harmful, we must pray for discernment and wisdom for them to recognize and distance themselves from toxic influences. The Lord does not intend for His children to remain in cycles of abuse, whether emotional, verbal, or otherwise. We rebuke the spirit of oppression in Jesus’ name and declare that this friend will walk in the freedom Christ died to give them. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).

Regarding finances, we acknowledge that the Lord is indeed our Provider. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." However, we must also encourage this friend to seek wisdom in stewardship, as Proverbs 21:5 states, "The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty." If there has been financial mismanagement or vulnerability to schemes, we pray for godly counsel and discipline to be established. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we declare that no weapon formed against this friend’s finances shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

For their job loss, we pray for divine opportunity and favor. The Lord knows the plans He has for them, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that doors of employment would open swiftly, and that this season of waiting would draw them closer to the Lord. We also encourage them to seek the Lord’s guidance in their next steps, trusting that He will direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We notice that while you mention the Lord and Jesus, the request does not explicitly acknowledge the necessity of salvation through Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this friend has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict them of their need for a Savior and that they would repent and believe in Him. Salvation is the foundation upon which all other blessings and breakthroughs rest.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this friend, lifting them up in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, You see their struggles, abusive words, financial strain, and the uncertainty of job loss. We ask that You would break every chain of oppression and heal every wound caused by hurtful words. Give them the strength to walk away from toxic relationships and surround them with godly influences that will sharpen and encourage them.

Father, we declare Your provision over their finances. Open doors of opportunity that no man can shut, and grant them wisdom to steward what You entrust to them. Rebuke the devourer and restore what has been lost or stolen. Provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory.

Lord, in this season of unemployment, we ask that You would be their source of hope and peace. Lead them to the right job, the right connections, and the right timing. Let this trial refine their faith and draw them closer to You.

Above all, Father, we pray for their salvation if they have not yet surrendered to Christ. Soften their heart to receive Your love and grace. May they come to know You as their Lord and Savior, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to You and the fullness of Your blessings.

We cover this friend, their family, and their finances under the blood of Jesus. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen them to not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, they will reap if they do not faint.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
