Abuse and mistreatment

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Mistreatment from this jerk co-worker who is very disrespected. And I need emotional healing because I have a huge envy problem of people having sex and attractive people having their way with women. Why did the LORD make me so ugly and skinny.

We hear your pain and frustration, and we stand with you in seeking God’s healing and justice. The mistreatment you’re enduring from your co-worker is not only unprofessional but sinful—God calls us to treat one another with dignity and respect, as He created every person in His image (Genesis 1:27). We rebuke the spirit of disrespect and oppression in this situation, declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and no one has the right to demean or belittle you.

Your struggle with envy and comparison is also a heavy burden, but we must address it with truth. Coveting what others have—whether it’s physical intimacy, attractiveness, or worldly success—is a snare that leads to bitterness and discontent (Exodus 20:17). The world’s standards of beauty and desirability are fleeting, but God’s love for you is eternal. He did not make you "ugly" or "skinny" to punish you; He knit you together with purpose, and your worth is found in Christ alone (1 Peter 2:9). The enemy wants you to fixate on what you lack so you’ll miss the blessings God *has* given you—your life, your identity in Him, and the unique calling He’s placed on you.

We must also confront the lustful thoughts you’ve described. Fantasizing about others’ sexual lives or physical appearances is not harmless—it’s a form of idolatry that dishonors God and objectifies His creation (Matthew 5:28). The Bible warns that such desires defile the heart (Mark 7:21-23). We rebuke the spirit of lust in Jesus’ name and encourage you to take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Fill your mind with what is pure, lovely, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8), and seek accountability from godly believers who can help you walk in holiness.

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord sees your tears and collects them in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up his pain, his wounds, and his struggles. Lord, You are the God who sees and the God who heals. We ask You to break the chains of envy and lust in his life, replacing them with contentment and gratitude for how You’ve fearfully and wonderfully made him. Father, we declare that his identity is not in his appearance or others’ opinions but in Christ, who loved him and gave Himself for him (Galatians 2:20).

We pray against the mistreatment he’s facing at work. Raise up godly authority to intervene, and let Your justice prevail. Give him strength to respond with wisdom and grace, not retaliation, and fill his heart with peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). Lord, where he feels weak, be his strength. Where he feels overlooked, remind him that You delight in him (Zephaniah 3:17). Where he feels tempted to compare, let him fix his eyes on You, the author and perfecter of his faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We ask for emotional healing, Father. Mend the places where he’s been wounded by rejection or insecurity. Replace every lie the enemy has spoken over him with Your truth: that he is chosen, holy, and dearly loved (Colossians 3:12). Surround him with believers who will speak life into him and hold him accountable in love. And Lord, if it’s Your will, prepare a godly spouse for him—someone who will cherish him as a gift from You, not as a trophy or a fleeting desire.

We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our sorrows and carried our griefs (Isaiah 53:4). May our brother encounter Your presence in a tangible way this day, and may he walk forward in the freedom and purpose You’ve ordained for him. Amen.

Friend, we urge you to seek out a biblical counselor or a trusted pastor who can walk with you through these struggles. The enemy wants to isolate you, but God’s design is for His children to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). You are not defined by your appearance, your job, or others’ sins against you—you are defined by the blood of Jesus and the new life He’s given you. Press into Him, and let His love be the foundation of your healing.

We're right here with you, friend, feeling your pain and frustration. That co-worker's disrespect is unacceptable, and we stand with you in seeking justice. Remember, God sees you, and He's right there with you in your struggles. Let's claim these verses together: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken" (Psalm 55:22). Let's trust that God is working even in the midst of this mistreatment.

We also want to encourage you to keep your focus on Jesus. He sees your worth, and He's the one who created you in His image (Genesis 1:27). The world's standards of beauty and success are fleeting, but God's love for you is eternal. You're not defined by your appearance or others' opinions; you're defined by the blood of Jesus and the new life He's given you.

As for the envy and lustful thoughts, let's take them captive and make them obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Fill your mind with what's pure, lovely, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). Surround yourself with godly believers who can hold you accountable and speak life into you.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our friend's pain, wounds, and struggles. Lord, You see him, and You're right there with him. We ask You to break the chains of envy and lust in his life, replacing them with contentment and gratitude for how You've fearfully and wonderfully made him. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give him strength where he feels weak, remind him that You delight in him (Zephaniah 3:17), and help him fix his eyes on You, the author and perfecter of his faith (Hebrews 12:2). In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Friend, you're not alone in this battle. The Lord sees your tears, and He's close to the brokenhearted. Trust in Him, and let His love be the foundation of your healing. Seek out a biblical counselor or a trusted pastor who can walk with you through these struggles. You're defined by the blood of Jesus and the new life He's given you. Press into Him, and let His love be your strength.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us by sharing your heart and allowing us to stand with you in prayer during this difficult time. We have been lifting you before the Lord, asking Him to intervene in your situation with your co-worker, to bring healing to your heart, and to replace feelings of envy with the peace and contentment that only He can provide. We prayed for God’s comfort as you wrestled with feelings of inadequacy and for His perspective to remind you of the unique purpose and value He has placed in you.

If the Lord has answered any part of your prayer—whether through a change in your circumstances, a shift in your heart, or a renewed sense of His love—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be a blessing to others who are facing similar struggles.

If, however, you feel that your prayers have not yet been answered, please know that we are still here to stand with you. We encourage you to post your request again, and we will continue to lift you up, believing that God hears you and is at work even when we cannot see it. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and He promises to draw near to those who seek Him.

May God continue to strengthen you, heal your emotions, and fill you with His joy and confidence in who He created you to be. We pray that you would experience His love in a fresh way and find rest in His presence. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
