We come before you with hearts full of gratitude for your mercy and grace that is new every morning. The scripture reminds us in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* This is a promise we can stand on, knowing that when we repent with a sincere heart, our Heavenly Father is quick to forgive and restore us.
Yet we must also remember that forgiveness is not a vague or general request—it is a personal and intentional act of turning away from sin and turning toward God. The name of Jesus is the only name by which we can approach the Father, for as Scripture declares in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* It is through faith in Jesus Christ alone that we receive forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life. If there is any unconfessed sin, any area of your life not surrendered to Him, we urge you to bring it before the Lord now. He is waiting with open arms, ready to cleanse and renew you.
Let us pray together:
Father, we thank You for the precious blood of Jesus that washes away every sin, every transgression, and every failure. We lift up this dear one who seeks Your forgiveness, and we ask that You would grant them a deep and abiding repentance—a turning away from all that displeases You. Lord, search their heart and reveal anything that needs to be surrendered to You. Fill them with the assurance of Your love and the peace that comes from knowing they are forgiven and made new in Christ.
We also pray that You would strengthen them to walk in obedience, empowered by Your Holy Spirit to resist temptation and live a life that honors You. May they never take Your grace for granted but instead grow in holiness, always remembering the high price that was paid for their redemption. Help them to extend the same forgiveness they have received to others, just as You have commanded us in Matthew 6:14-15, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."*
May this one walk in the freedom and joy of Your forgiveness, always giving thanks to You for Your mercy. We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
