We come before you with hearts full of gratitude that you have brought this dear one to a place of repentance, for it is written, *"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:8-9, WEB). It is beautiful to see a heart that seeks forgiveness, for this is the first step toward restoration and a closer walk with our Lord.
Yet we must gently address something important—while you have invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer, we notice the use of symbols (#) that are not necessary when coming before the Lord. Our prayers are not about formulas or symbols but about a sincere heart crying out to the Father through the name of Jesus, our only Mediator. *"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace, and it is by His precious name alone that we are saved. *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB).
Let us also take this moment to encourage you: if you have not already surrendered your life fully to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. True repentance is more than asking for forgiveness—it is turning away from sin and turning toward God with all your heart. *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). If you have already done this, then rejoice, for your sins are forgiven, and you are a new creation in Christ!
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, thanking You for the conviction of the Holy Spirit that has led them to seek Your forgiveness. Lord, we ask that You would cleanse them from all unrighteousness and create in them a clean heart, renewed and steadfast in Your ways. Father, if there is any sin they have not yet released to You, bring it to their mind so they may repent and walk in the freedom You have purchased for them through the blood of Jesus.
We pray that You would fill them with the assurance of Your love and forgiveness, casting out any condemnation or shame the enemy may try to place upon them. Remind them that *"as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."* (Psalm 103:12, WEB). Strengthen them to walk in victory, resisting temptation and pursuing holiness, for You have called us to be holy as You are holy.
Lord, if this one has not yet fully surrendered to You, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for them. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day, conquering sin and death. May they place their full trust in Him and receive the gift of eternal life.
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
