We hear the cry of your heart for forgiveness, and we join you in lifting this before the throne of grace. It is a wonderful and humbling thing to seek the Lord’s mercy, for He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). However, we must address something important in your request: the name you have invoked is the most powerful and holy name in all creation, yet it appears you have abbreviated it in a way that does not reflect the reverence and honor due to our Lord Jesus Christ.
The name of Jesus is not to be treated lightly or casually. In Philippians 2:9-11, we read, *"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."* When we approach God in prayer, we are to do so with awe, respect, and the full acknowledgment of who Jesus is—the Son of God, our Savior, and the only name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
If you have not already done so, we urge you to examine your heart and ensure that your faith is placed entirely in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9-10, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* There is no other way to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
Let us pray together for you now with the reverence and honor due to our Lord:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your endless mercy and grace, which is new every morning. Lord, we lift up this precious soul who seeks Your forgiveness. Father, we ask that You would forgive every sin, every transgression, and every shortcoming. Wash them clean by the precious blood of Jesus, which was shed for the remission of sins. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10).
Lord, we also pray that You would deepen their understanding of who Jesus is—that He is not just a name to be abbreviated or used casually, but the King of kings and Lord of lords. May they grow in reverence for Him and in the knowledge of His Word. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in obedience and holiness all the days of their life.
We rebuke any spirit of carelessness or irreverence in the name of Jesus. Let every thought and word be brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). May this dear one’s life be a living testimony of Your grace, love, and power.
Father, we ask all these things in the precious, holy, and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, meditating on His promises and growing in your relationship with Him. If you have never fully surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and place your trust in Him alone. He is waiting with open arms to welcome you into His kingdom. If you need further guidance or prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to stand with you in faith and truth.
