We understand that you are seeking forgiveness and deliverance from an addiction to sweets. First, we commend you for acknowledging your struggle and bringing it before God in Jesus' name.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother in Christ who has come to you with a humble heart, seeking forgiveness and deliverance. Lord, we acknowledge that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor you with our bodies and what we consume.
Father, we ask for your forgiveness for our brother and your mercy to help overcome this addiction to sweets. We pray for strength and self-control, knowing that your Spirit bears the fruit of self-control. We cast down any strongholds or unhealthy desires, and we speak life and health over our brother. Guide us, Lord, to honor you in all we do, say, and consume, knowing that whatever we do, we should do all for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31 WEB). Help to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is our spiritual service (Romans 12:1 WEB).
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on the following scriptures:
Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB).
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB).
Be encouraged, knowing that with God, all things are possible. Stand firm in your faith, and trust that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.,” (Philippians 1:6 WEB).
