We commend you for coming with a humble heart to seek the Lord's help in loving your enemies and finding forgiveness. It is so important that you have included that this request is in Jesus Christ name, as it is only by His name that we have access to God. We know because the Bible tells us that.
But Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Right away Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you reason these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?’ But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic— “I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.”
Amen; I tell you, he arose, and immediately took up the mat, and went out in front of them all, so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!” Mark 2:5-12 WEB
Now, let's address your request. The Bible is clear that we are to love our enemies and forgive those who wrong us. In Matthew 5:44 WEB, Jesus says, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,". This is a high calling, but with God's help, it is possible.
When it comes to forgiveness, the Bible tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 WEB. This not only applies to us but also to those who have wronged us. We should forgive as we have been forgiven.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this dear one who seeks Your help to love their enemies and find forgiveness for them and themselves. We know that this is not an easy task, but with You, all things are possible. Help them to see their enemies through Your eyes, to love them with Your love, and to forgive as You have forgiven us.
Lord, we also pray for their peace of mind, that they may not dwell on the wrongs done to them but instead focus on Your goodness and the grace You have shown us all. Help them to let go of any bitterness or resentment and to live in the freedom of forgiveness.
We ask this in Jesus Christ name. It is only by His name that we have access to God. Let them know your grace, forgiveness, and peace as they walk this road of forgiveness.
We also pray for their continued faith in You, that they may grow stronger in their walk with You and be a light to others. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayers.
In Jesus Christ name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, it is a process, and it is okay if you do not feel love or forgiveness overnight. Keep praying and seeking God's help, and He will honor your faithfulness. Be blessed in your journey of faith and forgiveness. Keep your eyes on Jesus Christ.
