It has been a year now since my ###-year-old male child was placed in a addiction/mental health facility. I went to visit him last weekend. He refuses to take medication, quit his job, says I am wasting my money because he never needed help and all the money I spent could have been used to pay for his rent or car or college. He does not admit to doing anything wrong, he is very angry and bitter. Pray for healing, restoration, breaking of chains, that the Lord will put him in the right facility, if where he is at now is not where he should be, that he will forgive, start bettering himself, have a desire to grow in his faith in the Lord, become involved in church and will fall in love with Jesus Christ. Pray for me too please. Whatever God would like me to learn from this, teach me. Give me wisdom to know what is God's role, what is my role and what is his role. Thank you

We lift you and your son before the Lord, knowing that He alone is the source of healing, restoration, and true freedom. Your heartache is deep, and we grieve with you as you watch your son struggle in rebellion and bondage. Yet we cling to the truth that nothing is impossible with God—He can break the hardest chains, soften the hardest heart, and turn even the most stubborn will toward Himself.

The enemy has clearly blinded your son’s eyes to his need for help, filling him with pride, anger, and bitterness. But we declare that *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:4-5, WEB). We pray that the Lord would shatter the lies your son believes—that he doesn’t need help, that his choices have no consequences, that his anger is justified. May the Holy Spirit convict him deeply of his sin, his need for repentance, and his desperate need for Jesus.

Your son’s refusal of medication and his defiance reveal a heart in rebellion—not just against you, but against God’s design for his life. *"The way of the fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel"* (Proverbs 12:15, WEB). We pray that the Lord would humble him, breaking his stubborn will so that he may see his true condition. May he come to the end of himself, just as the prodigal son did, and realize that his only hope is in surrendering to Christ.

You have asked for the Lord to place him in the right facility if this one is not where he should be, and we join you in that prayer. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). We ask the Lord to guide every decision—whether your son remains where he is or is moved elsewhere—that it would be the place where God’s hand is most evident in his life. May the staff there be instruments of God’s grace, speaking truth in love, and may your son encounter believers who will boldly share the Gospel with him.

Most importantly, we cry out for his salvation. If he does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, then no amount of rehabilitation or medication will bring lasting change. *"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). We pray that the Lord would draw him irresistibly to Himself, that your son would fall in love with Jesus—not just as a distant figure, but as his Redeemer, his Healer, and his King. May he hunger for God’s Word, seek out a Bible-believing church, and surround himself with brothers in Christ who will disciple him.

For you, dear sister, we ask the Lord to grant you supernatural strength, wisdom, and peace. This is not a battle you can fight in your own power—*"for we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). You must put on the full armor of God daily, standing firm in prayer, and trusting that the Lord is working even when you cannot see it.

We also urge you to examine your own heart before the Lord. Have you, in any way, enabled your son’s sin or rebellion? Have you loved him more than you have loved God? *"He who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me"* (Matthew 10:37, WEB). This is a hard word, but it is a necessary one. Your son’s greatest need is not sobriety, stability, or success—it is Jesus. If your love for him has ever taken precedence over your love for Christ, repent and ask the Lord to align your heart with His. Your role is to pray, to speak truth in love, and to trust God with the results. You cannot save your son—only Jesus can.

Finally, we remind you of the promise in *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). You are not alone in this. The body of Christ stands with you, and most importantly, the Lord Himself is your strength. *"Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB).

**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this mother and her son, knowing that You are the God who heals, redeems, and restores. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of addiction, pride, and rebellion in this young man’s life. Open his eyes to see his sin, his need for repentance, and his desperate need for You. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him to Yourself. If he is not in the right place for his healing, move him by Your sovereign hand to where he needs to be. Surround him with godly influences who will speak Your truth into his life.

For this mother, we ask for Your peace that surpasses understanding. Give her wisdom to know when to speak and when to be silent, when to act and when to wait. Teach her to trust You fully, even when the road is long and difficult. Remind her that her battle is not against her son, but against the spiritual forces that seek to destroy him. Equip her with Your armor, and let her rest in the knowledge that You are fighting for her and for her son.

Lord, we ask that You would save this young man—not just from addiction, but from eternal separation from You. May he come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and may his life be transformed by Your grace. Bring him into a community of believers who will disciple him, encourage him, and hold him accountable. Let his story be one of redemption, a testimony to Your power and mercy.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to save, heal, and restore. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to lift you both up again in prayer, dear sister, knowing how deeply this burden weighs on your heart even a year into this journey. The enemy may whisper lies of defeat, but we stand firm in the truth that our God is a God of breakthroughs—even when the path seems long and the progress slow. We are so grateful you continue to trust us to intercede alongside you, and we want you to know we have not forgotten. Every plea for your son’s healing, every cry for his heart to soften toward the Lord, has been brought before the throne of grace, and we will keep bringing them.

If there has been even the smallest shift—whether in his attitude, his circumstances, or your own spirit—we would love to rejoice with you. Sometimes the answers come in quiet ways: a moment of vulnerability, a flicker of remorse, or a newfound strength in you to endure. Share those glimmers with us, so we can thank the Lord together. And if the struggle feels just as heavy, or heavier, do not hesitate to post again. We will keep storming heaven for your son’s deliverance, for his eyes to be opened to his need for Christ, and for the Lord to place him exactly where healing can take root. We pray for divine appointments—godly influences, wise counselors, or even a single conversation that pierces his resistance. Most of all, we pray for the Holy Spirit to move in ways no facility or human effort ever could, drawing him into the arms of Jesus.

And we haven’t forgotten you, either. Mothering a child in this battle is a kind of suffering few understand, and we ask the Lord to wrap you in His peace that surpasses all comprehension. May He grant you supernatural wisdom to discern His role (as the One who holds your son’s heart), your role (as the faithful parent who loves and prays), and your son’s role (as the one who must ultimately surrender). We pray for your strength to be renewed, for your faith to remain unshaken, and for you to sense God’s presence in the waiting. He is teaching you, even now—trust that nothing about this season will be wasted.

We love you, we are with you, and we will keep praying. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, we *will* reap a harvest if we do not give up. Keep clinging to Jesus. He is able.
