A troubling thought

Not long ago,a big celebrity died. This person was what you call a "Hollywood Christian" meaning they say with the mouth theyre a Christian but almost all their actions and views are totally opposite.(Not backsliding but a whole lifestyle like that.)Backing things the Bible condemned lustful lifestyle..all of it.Well on UTube theres debate over if she was a legitimite Christian or not.So one lady proclaimed she can"see things in the spiritual realm and ptoclaim she "say the questionable Christian in Heaven and God (now she see God when the Bible said noone can see His face)God told her about the other"I got her."But my question they didnt specify if this "seer"was a Christian. Was she a prophet of God or just a worldly soothsayer telling the celebs fans what they want to hear...or even a demon showed her that like shes a psychic. How do I know if this "seer" is legimite especially when telling the world what it wants to hear.Likelyhoods??

We hear your troubling thought and we share your concern about this, and we have prayed over your question because many are being led astray by exactly this kind of claim.

You are right to be troubled when someone says with their mouth that they are a Christian while their whole lifestyle embraces what the Bible condemns, including a lustful lifestyle and support for what God calls sin. The Word says Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works? Then I will tell them, I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity. Matthew 7:21-23. And it also says They profess that they know God, but by their works they deny him Titus 1:16. We cannot see the heart as God does, and we must leave final judgment to Him, but we are commanded to judge fruit, for by their fruits you will know them Matthew 7:20. A pattern of unrepentant fornication, adultery, and celebrating what God calls abomination is not the fruit of a life surrendered to Christ, even if the name Christian is claimed.

You are also right to test this woman who claims to see into the spiritual realm and to have seen this celebrity in Heaven and to have seen God face to face and heard Him say I got her. Scripture is clear that no one has seen God the Father face to face and lived, as He told Moses You cannot see my face, for man may not see me and live Exodus 33:20, and No one has seen God at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him John 1:18. True visions in Scripture never contradict Scripture, and they always exalt Christ and call people to holiness and repentance, not to comfortable assurance while living in rebellion.

We must test every such claim, for the Word commands Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world 1 John 4:1. A true prophet of God will speak what is true whether people want to hear it or not, and what they say will come to pass and will agree with the written Word Deuteronomy 18:22. A false prophet or soothsayer tells what itching ears want to hear. For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts 2 Timothy 4:3. That is exactly what happens when fans are grieving and someone steps forward to assure them their favorite celebrity is in Heaven despite an unrepentant life, it comforts the world but it does not call anyone to repentance.

There is also the very real danger of demonic deception. The Bible warns not to turn to those who are mediums or to the wizards Leviticus 19:31 and that there shall not be found with you anyone who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer Deuteronomy 18:10. Even Satan masquerades as an angel of light 2 Corinthians 11:14 and can give false visions and lying wonders to deceive. When a seer gives a revelation that contradicts the gospel and gives false peace to those living in sin, we have strong reason to believe it is not from the Holy Spirit but from the flesh or from a deceiving spirit, telling the world what it wants to hear.

What is the likelihood she is legitimate. We would say it is very unlikely. A legitimate messenger from God does not claim to see the Father's face in contradiction to Scripture, does not offer blanket assurance of Heaven apart from repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, and does not draw attention to her own spiritual sight. She would point people to Jesus, to the cross, to repentance, and to the Word.

We also notice your request speaks of God and the Bible and Christian, but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and assurance of Heaven. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If that celebrity or anyone else truly belonged to Christ, it would be because they repented and put their faith in Jesus alone, not because they claimed the label Christian while loving the world. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9.

So we encourage you not to let this trouble rob your peace, but to let it sharpen your discernment. Stay rooted in the Word daily, test every voice by Scripture, and pray for wisdom, for God gives wisdom liberally to those who ask. Do not feel you must decide the eternal destiny of this celebrity, for the Lord knows those who are His, but do warn others lovingly that claiming to be a Christian while living in open rebellion is a fearful deception.

We pray together for you now.

Father in Heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before Your throne of grace. We ask You to grant our friend discernment and peace and to guard their heart from confusion and false teaching. Help them to test the spirits and to love Your truth even when the world loves a lie. We pray for all those deceived by Hollywood Christianity and by false seers who speak smooth things, that You would open eyes to see the need for true repentance and faith in Jesus alone. We pray for the family and fans of the one who died, that they would not be given false comfort but would be drawn to seek You while You may be found. Expose what is false and let Your Word stand as the lamp to our feet. Keep us from familiar spirits and soothsaying and keep us close to Christ. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only hope and our only way to You, amen.

We understand why this has stuck with you. When someone well known dies and then a video claims special inside information from heaven, it can leave you spinning and wondering who to trust.

We share your caution. When a message lines up perfectly with what fans want to hear and comes from someone with no known walk with Christ, no accountability, and a claim that goes beyond what God has shown us about Himself, wisdom says to step back. Those who truly hear from God tend to be marked by humility, a quiet faithful life, love for others, and a desire to point people to Jesus rather than to themselves, and what they say is weighed carefully by other mature believers over time. A dramatic claim to have seen heaven or spoken face to face for God, especially to settle a public debate, does not fit that pattern.

We also cannot know another person's heart at the end, even a public figure whose life looked inconsistent. That judgment belongs to the Lord alone, and He is both just and merciful.

A helpful next step when these videos stir anxiety is to pause them for a season and bring your questions to a trusted pastor or elder in person, and to rest in what God has clearly revealed about how we come to Him through Christ.

We pray for you now. Father, calm this troubling thought and give our friend clear discernment and peace. Keep us grounded in Your truth and help us trust You with what we cannot see. In Jesus' name, amen.

I pray that the Lord fills you with peace and joy, I pray that ###, or the celebrity you was talking about is in Heaven!

We can't judge, though. You said "This person was what you call a "Hollywood Christian" meaning they say with the mouth theyre a Christian but almost all their actions and views are totally opposite." There are tons of Hollywood Christians! Yes, the industry is becoming bad. But, in darkness there is light.

Wrestling agaisnt the constant realization that im powerless to change my circumstances. But realizing also that prayer and worship is the only way to survive. That prayer and worship is the best thing for chastity. And that there is a way out somewhere even though I can't see it. The constant back and forth struggle with lust and hopelessness and powerlessness. But with prayers and worship able to make it through into those short lasting little tiny places where I get to rest and be happy again. I am sustained by prayer and worship. And must needs prayer and worship all the time and not fight agaisnt Gods plan for me. To be chaste and sober and to pray and worship daily all the time. And to hope amd pray and wait for the day I can be a husband to a girl. And see the quaoity of my happiness and health improve some. Until that day I am very much cornered and trapped and have no where to go except I submit to God and be still and pray and dont struggle too much less I find myself happily to fight agaisnt God. Lord Yeshuas name. Amen.

Your question touches upon a matter which ought indeed to trouble every thoughtful soul, and it is well that you are not carried away with the smooth tale told upon that video.

Our Lord Himself has forewarned us, and behold, He told us before, that many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many, and because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall grow cold. They have risen in all ages, and one of the saddest signs of the times in which we live is the ease with which even the very elect are deceived by the smooth tongued false prophets who abound in our midst. If you exercise full faith in that which is sure and steadfast, false Christs and false prophets will not be able to make you their dupes.

You ask how you may know whether this woman who claims to see into the spiritual realm is a prophet of God or a worldly soothsayer telling the fans what they want to hear, or one to whom a demon has shown a lying vision as to a psychic. Hear the Scripture. The Lord knew that man would be unable to hear His voice directly, and therefore He determined to speak by His servants the prophets, raising up here one and there another, until at last He has spoken unto us by His Son, Jesus Christ, the one Mediator between God and man, the Prophet like unto Moses whom we are commanded to hear. To other men He spoke in dreams and visions, but to Moses by plain testimony, and far more clearly now by Christ, whose words are matchless and whose miracles of love were felt beyond this visible world. We are not now to look for fresh revelations which add to His finished Word. Let us adore the third Person of the Trinity and seek His witness, for He by His divine workings bears an infallible witness with our spirits that we are born of God, and then we are enabled to read our title clear to mansions in the skies. That witness is within the believer according to the covenant of grace, not in the ecstatic claim of a stranger upon the internet who says she has seen the face of God, when Scripture plainly declares that no man can see His face and live.

Consider also the motive and the message of such seers. Ministers are fearfully guilty if they intentionally build up men in a false peace, playing jackal to the lion of hell by pandering to the depraved tastes of vain, rebellious man. The false prophets of old preached smooth things because the people would have it so, because they thus brought grist to their own mill and glory to their own names. They healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying Peace, peace, when there is no peace. Is not this exactly what you have heard? A celebrity lives a whole lifestyle contrary to the commands of Christ, backing what the Bible condemns, living in lust and open defiance of holiness, and yet the multitude wishes to believe all is well. Then comes one who says, I have seen her in Heaven, God told me I got her, and the fans are comforted without repentance, without the cross, without holiness. God has given you judgment, use it. No state and no seer has any right to dictate what you shall believe apart from the Word, but there is a true gospel and there are thousands of false ones.

As to the person who has died, this is a most important matter, but it increases in importance as we get nearer to that great testing time when the Lord shall put everyone into His unerring balances to weigh him and so to prove what he really is. There is a false way of justification, the way of self justification which is self condemning instead of self justifying, and there is the true way, which is to be justified by faith in Jesus Christ alone. Many sinners coming to Christ would get relief far more quickly if it were not for the ill lives of false professors. These are very clever fellows to make the worse appear the better reason, but we care little what they say that is false, it is when they can say anything that is true about us that we do well to tremble. A profession with the mouth while the life utters words which are utterly false and verges upon the licentious is not the fruit of the Spirit. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and faith that saves is never alone, it brings forth a new heart and a new life. Whether that soul ever truly repented in secret before death, the Lord alone knows, for He weighs the heart. It is not ours to pronounce a final sentence, yet we dare not pronounce a false absolution either.

How then shall you judge the seer? Try the spirits whether they are of God. Does she exalt Christ or herself? Does she point you to the written Word or to her own visions? Does she call sinners to repentance and to holiness, or does she comfort them in sin? Does her revelation agree with Scripture, which teaches that without holiness no man shall see the Lord, and that we must be born again? If she contradicts that Word, she is not to be heard, though she should show great signs and wonders.

The likelihood, you ask, and I answer plainly, is that such a one is not a prophet of the living God at all, but either a deceived soul who loves to be thought a seer, or a worldly soothsayer who tells the world what itching ears desire to hear, and it may well be that the father of lies assists her to confirm men in a false peace. The direst calamity the Church can dread is not from enemies outside but from false brethren and traitors within the camp who cause deep anxiety to tender spirits.

Turn then from YouTube visions to the sure Word. Search your own heart, whether you have been justified by Christ or are resting in a false peace yourself. Flee to Jesus, the only Prophet, Priest and King, and trust not in the claim that God has got a soul apart from repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. There you will find a peace that is not false, and a hope that will stand when the Lord puts you into His unerring balances.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Topic Automatically Translated From English Language:

Your question shows a careful and faithful desire to test what you hear rather than simply accept it, and that desire itself is from God.

Scripture tells us plainly that no one can see the face of God and live, and that God has spoken finally and sufficiently through His Son and through the written word. When someone claims to have seen God face to face and to have received a private revelation about the eternal destiny of another person, especially a revelation that contradicts what Scripture teaches about holiness, repentance, and the narrow way, we have strong reason to be cautious.

The Lord Jesus warned us to beware of false prophets who do not attack openly but hide themselves, and He called the way to life narrow and rough precisely so we would stay vigilant. The apostle Paul also warned that in the last days perilous times would come when men would be lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, and that error always sets itself up beside the truth. After the true prophets came false prophets, after the apostles came false apostles, and after Christ will come antichrist. The devil cannot create, he can only imitate what God has done, and he does so to deceive.

For this reason the Holy Spirit gave the Church the gift of discerning of spirits. In the early Church, when many claimed to prophesy, some truly and some falsely, and both claimed to speak of the future, there was no way to tell by mere claim who was true. God therefore gave discernment, so that what was from the Spirit and what was from the deceiver could be tested. That test remains today, and it is the Scripture.

You ask how to know if this seer is legitimate, especially when she tells the world what it wants to hear. Apply these tests:

First, does her claim agree with Scripture. A vision that says God showed her His face, when Scripture says no one can see His face, already fails the test. A revelation that gives assurance of heaven to a person who lived a whole lifestyle opposed to God's commands, without any evidence of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, also fails. Salvation is through Christ alone, and true faith bears fruit in a changed life. A lifestyle of unrepentant lust and open support for what God calls sin is not backsliding for a season, it is a pattern that Scripture warns about.

Second, does she call people to repentance or to comfort in sin. False prophets in every age have told people what their itching ears want to hear. They speak peace where God has not spoken peace. A true messenger of God will point to the narrow gate, to self denial, to repentance and to Christ, even when it is unpopular.

Third, what is her fruit and her motive. Is she drawing attention to herself as a special seer, gathering followers on a platform, and profiting from telling fans of a beloved celebrity exactly what they wish were true. That pattern is the mark of the worldly soothsayer and the augur, like those the prophets called mad and carried away by a spirit, not the mark of a humble servant of the word.

What is the likelihood. Given what you describe, it is far more likely that this is not a prophet of God at all, but either a deceived person speaking from her own imagination and desire to comfort others, or a worldly soothsayer telling people what they want to hear, and at worst a deception aided by the evil one who gladly uses such false assurance to keep people from feeling their need to repent. The devil is glad when people believe that a life lived against God's ways still ends safely in heaven without Christ and without repentance, because then they will not seek the narrow way themselves.

We cannot pronounce with absolute certainty the final judgment of any particular soul, for that belongs to the Lord who sees the heart and knows if there was true repentance in the last moments unknown to us. But we are not to invent assurance where God has not given it, and we are certainly not to base our hope on a YouTube vision. We are to teach what Scripture teaches, that we must enter by the narrow gate, that we must be vigilant because many will try to lead us off the path, and that we must test every spirit.

Do not let this trouble drive you to speculation about the unseen realm. Turn instead to what is sure. Pray for wisdom to understand what is truly profitable, for we often do not know what to pray for as we ought and need the Spirit to guide us. Pray for those who are grieving the death of this celebrity that they would hear the truth of the gospel while there is still time. And examine your own walk, to remain on the narrow way, holding fast to Christ and His word, which alone can save.

If you encounter such claims again, close the video and open the Bible. Measure every word by it. What agrees with it, receive. What contradicts it or adds to it, reject.
