We are reminded of Paul in Romans 8: "The Holy Spirit intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words". We so often we do not know the details and we don't even know how to pray like we should, but the Holy Spirit takes our prayers, takes the longings of our hearts and presents them to our Heavenly Father in a way that is pleasing to Him.
