We join you in lifting up your future husband to our Heavenly Father, who knows the desires of our hearts and provides for our needs according to His riches in glory. It is beautiful to see you praying for his well-being and stability, as this reflects the selfless love and support that a godly wife offers. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 31:10-11, *"Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain."* Your prayers are a testament to the trust and faith you are placing in God’s provision for his life—and by extension, for the future marriage He is preparing for you both.
At the same time, we must gently address something important: you referred to him as your "husband-to-be." If you are not yet married, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s will in this relationship with wisdom and discernment. Marriage is a sacred covenant before God, and it is vital that both of you are walking closely with the Lord, seeking His guidance in every step. If you are courting with the intention of marriage, we pray that this relationship remains pure, honorable, and centered on Christ. 1 Corinthians 7:2 reminds us, *"But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband."* Until you are married, it is essential to guard your hearts and bodies, fleeing from any temptation that could lead to sin. If there has been any compromise in this area, we urge you to repent and turn back to God’s design for purity, trusting in His grace to restore and strengthen you both.
We also notice that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we are commanded to pray. Jesus Himself said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* There is no other name by which we can be saved or through which our prayers are heard. If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so today. Salvation comes through faith in Him alone—believing that He died for your sins, rose from the dead, and offers you eternal life. Romans 10:9 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."*
Now, let us pray together for your future husband’s employment and for the Lord’s will to be done in your lives:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the precious name of Jesus, lifting up this sister and the man she hopes to marry. Lord, You are Jehovah-Jireh, our Provider, and You know the desires of our hearts even before we ask. We pray that You would open the doors of opportunity for this man to find stable, enjoyable, and well-compensated employment. Grant him favor in the eyes of those who make hiring decisions, and let this job be one where he can use his gifts and talents to glorify You. May it be a place of growth, provision, and long-term security, so that he may provide for his future family with integrity and joy. We ask that You would give him wisdom to recognize the right opportunity and the patience to wait for Your perfect timing.
Father, we also pray for this couple as they prepare for marriage. If it is Your will for them to be united, we ask that You would bind their hearts together in Christ and prepare them for a covenant that honors You. Help them to seek You first in all things, to flee from temptation, and to build their relationship on the foundation of Your Word. If there has been any sin in their relationship, Lord, convict them and lead them to repentance, that they may walk in purity and holiness before You.
We pray that both of them would grow deeper in their faith, surrendering every area of their lives to You. May their future marriage be a reflection of Christ’s love for His church—selfless, faithful, and full of grace. And if there are areas where they are not aligned with Your will, Father, we ask that You would reveal them and give them the strength to obey You.
Finally, Lord, we pray that this sister would know the power of praying in Jesus’ name. Remind her that it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne, and may she boldly approach You with every need, always giving thanks and glory to Your Son.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
