A Prayer for Those Affected by the ### Flash Floods

Merciful and loving God,

We lift before you everyone affected by the devastating flash floods in the Grand Canyon. Hold close the person who has lost their life, and bring comfort, strength and peace to their loved ones as they face an unimaginable loss.

Lord, we especially pray for all who remain missing. Surround them with your protection and guide the search and rescue teams to them. Where there is fear, bring hope; where there is uncertainty, bring reassurance; and where there is darkness, let your light lead the way.

Be with every family anxiously waiting for news of someone they love. Give them courage and sustain them through the painful hours of waiting.

We pray for those injured, displaced or otherwise affected by the floods, including those whose access to water and essential services has been disrupted. Provide for their needs and help the community recover from the destruction.

Bless the emergency responders, rangers, medical teams, volunteers and everyone involved in the rescue and recovery efforts. Give them wisdom, strength, courage and protection as they work in dangerous conditions.

Lord, in the midst of this tragedy, remind us that no one is forgotten.

May you comfort those who grieve, strengthen those who wait, protect those who are vulnerable, and bring hope where there seems to be none.

We give thanks for every person who is searching, helping, comforting and serving others during this difficult time.

May your presence surround the Grand Canyon community and all those affected, today and in the days ahead.

In Jesus' holy and precious name, I pray,
Amen.🙏

We join with you in lifting up everyone affected by the devastating flash floods in the Grand Canyon before our merciful and loving God, and we thank you for bringing this burden before the Lord in the precious name of Jesus.

Our hearts grieve with those who are suffering and we take comfort that our God sees and draws near in times of trouble. Scripture reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Even when waters rise suddenly and bring destruction, His promise remains true, When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you Isaiah 43:2. He is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him Nahum 1:7.

We are praying together with you for every need you have lifted up.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up the Grand Canyon community and all who have been touched by these floods. Lord, we entrust to Your mercy the soul of the one who has lost their life and we ask You to pour out Your comfort upon their loved ones, heal their broken hearts and bind up their wounds Psalm 147:3. Hold them close in this unimaginable loss and let them feel Your nearness.

We lift up those who remain missing, Lord surround them with Your protection wherever they are, and guide the hands and eyes of every search and rescue team, ranger and volunteer. Grant them wisdom, strength, courage and safety as they work in dangerous conditions. For every family anxiously waiting for news, we ask You to give them sustaining grace and peace that surpasses understanding, and to replace fear with hope and uncertainty with Your reassurance.

We pray for those who are injured, displaced, or without water and essential services, provide for their daily needs, open doors for help and provision, and bring healing to their bodies. We thank You for every emergency responder, medical team, and volunteer who is serving so selflessly, bless them and uphold them. Lord, remind each person affected that no one is forgotten by You, for You see each one and You invite all who labor and are heavily burdened to come to You for rest Matthew 11:28.

May Your presence surround the Grand Canyon in the days ahead, comforting those who grieve, strengthening those who wait, protecting the vulnerable, and bringing hope where there seems to be none. We trust in Your sovereign goodness and Your promise never to leave us nor forsake us Deuteronomy 31:8. We ask all these things in the holy and precious name of Jesus, our only hope and salvation, Amen.

We were so grateful to read your compassionate prayer for everyone touched by the flash floods in the Grand Canyon. Thank you for naming each group so thoughtfully, the person who died and their loved ones, those still missing, the families waiting, those injured or displaced, and the responders working in such difficult conditions. It reflects the heart of Christ to remember no one is forgotten.

We join you in holding all of them before the Lord. Tragedies like this leave a long wake, and the coming days of searching, waiting and rebuilding will be heavy for that community. Your prayer is a real way to stand with them, even from a distance.

If this has stayed on your heart, it can help to keep a simple rhythm of prayer over the next weeks as news continues to unfold, and if you feel led to help practically, a trusted local relief or park support fund can be a steady way to contribute without getting overwhelmed by the coverage.

Father, we lift the Grand Canyon community to you. Comfort those who mourn, give peace to those waiting for news, protect those still missing and guide every rescuer with wisdom and safety. Provide for those without water or shelter and draw near to each person who feels alone in this. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Father please help all affected and also in ###/### and wherever else flash floods have wrought destruction. Thank you. In Jesus name. Amen

Your prayer for those overtaken by the sudden floods in the Grand Canyon has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

How suddenly are our tents spoiled and our curtains in a moment. As you have so tenderly prayed, there are hearts now bowed under sudden sorrow, families waiting in painful suspense, and souls facing the dark waters of affliction. In such an hour worldly comforts fail, but the believer has a peculiar comfort. As it is written, This is my comfort in my affliction, for thy word hath quickened me. And again, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

We pray that the God of patience and comfort, who is also the God of hope, will draw near to all who mourn. For the loved ones of the one whose life has been lost, we ask that the Lord will speak comfortably to them and give them that peace which comes from His own Word. For those still missing and for every family anxiously waiting for tidings, we beseech Him to keep them in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him, because they trust in Him. Where there is fear, may faith be given. Where there is darkness, may His light lead the way.

We remember also those who are injured, those displaced, and those whose homes and essential provisions have been disrupted. May the Lord in His providence provide for their needs and raise up kindness in the community around them. And we give thanks with you for every ranger, rescuer, medical worker and volunteer who labours in danger. We ask the Lord to give them wisdom, strength and protection as they seek to save and to serve.

Above all we would point every sorrowing heart to the one true hope set before us in the Scriptures. There is no hope for us in ourselves, but there is hope for us in Him whom God has provided to be the Saviour. Our hope is not a vague wish but belief, desire and expectancy founded upon Christ Jesus, who shed His blood to whisper peace within. Through Him we have hope not only for this life but for the resurrection and eternal glory, for we know that our Redeemer liveth. It is the God of hope who fills His people with all joy and peace in believing, that they may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost.

May that joy and peace in believing be poured out upon the Grand Canyon community and upon all who grieve and wait in these days. May they be enabled to trust Jesus with their souls and to find that He makes peace within their borders.

We continue to pray with you that no one may be forgotten before the Lord, and that in the midst of tragedy His presence would be known as comfort, strength and perfect peace.

In the holy and precious name of Jesus Christ, our only Saviour, Amen.
