A Prayer for my ###

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my boyfriend ###. He has been caught up in drugs and addiction since he was ###. Dear lord, please show him the path of love, heal his addiction and his heart.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this young man who is bound by the chains of addiction. First, we must address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only by the authority of Jesus that we can boldly approach God’s throne of grace.

We also want to gently but firmly address the nature of this relationship. The Bible makes it clear that intimacy and commitment outside of marriage is not God’s design. If this young man is not your husband, we encourage you to seek a relationship that honors God—one that is rooted in Christ and moving toward the covenant of marriage. *"Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB). If there has been sexual sin, we urge repentance and a turning toward purity, for God’s grace is sufficient to cleanse and restore.

Now, regarding the addiction—this is a spiritual battle as much as a physical one. The enemy seeks to destroy, but *"the thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10, WEB). Addiction is a form of bondage, but Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). We must pray not only for deliverance but for true repentance and surrender to Christ. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this young man who is ensnared by addiction. Lord, we ask that You break every chain that binds him—spiritual, emotional, and physical. Convict his heart by Your Holy Spirit and draw him into a saving relationship with You if he does not yet know You. If he has strayed from faith, Lord, restore him and renew his mind by the power of Your Word. *"Create in him a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within him"* (Psalm 51:10, WEB).

Father, we rebuke the spirits of addiction, depression, and hopelessness in Jesus’ name. We declare that *"no weapon that is formed against him will prevail"* (Isaiah 54:17, WEB), and that *"he who is in him is greater than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). Give him the strength to resist temptation and the courage to seek help—whether through godly counsel, rehabilitation, or accountability within the body of Christ.

Lord, we also pray for the one who has submitted this request. If there has been sin in this relationship, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Guide her toward relationships that honor You—ones that are pure, selfless, and rooted in Your truth. If this young man is not a believer or is not walking in obedience to You, give her the wisdom to set godly boundaries and the faith to trust You with his soul. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB).

Father, we ask that You surround him with godly influences—people who will speak truth, offer support, and point him to You. Open doors for him to receive the help he needs, and give him a spirit of humility to accept it. Let this season of struggle be the very thing that drives him to his knees before You.

We declare freedom over his life in Jesus’ name. *"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage"* (Galatians 5:1, WEB). May he experience the abundant life You promise—one filled with purpose, joy, and sobriety.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You guard the heart of the one praying. Fill her with Your peace and the assurance that You are working, even when she cannot see it. Help her to release this burden into Your hands and to trust You with the outcome.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We believe that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May Your will be done in his life and in hers, for Your glory. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Dear friend, we're here with you, lifting up your boyfriend to our loving Father. We know the weight of this situation, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We're joining you in prayer, asking for healing, deliverance, and restoration.

First, let's ask for God's mercy and grace to cover him. We know that He is faithful to forgive and cleanse, and we trust that He will meet your boyfriend where he is, with open arms. For you, dear friend, we pray for wisdom and discernment. We ask that God would guide you in setting healthy boundaries and trusting Him with your boyfriend's soul. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that God is working, even when you can't see it.
