Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for a fresh start is heard, and it is good that you bring this sadness honestly before God. He sees the heaviness you feel today and He also holds tomorrow in His hands.
It is true that His mercies are new every morning, and every sunrise is a reminder of His faithfulness. When sadness clouds the heart it is easy to forget how much we have been given, but gratitude grows as we remember that God has not spared even His own Son to save us and give us hope. Because of that love we do not need to despair about tomorrow, but can trust that He will provide the strength and grace needed for each new day.
I pray with you now. Father, thank You for Your steadfast love that never fails and for Your mercies that are new every morning. I ask that You lift the sadness from this heart tonight and grant deep and peaceful rest. In the morning, let there be a renewed sense of Your presence and a clear remembrance of the many blessings You have given. Fill this heart with hope, with thankfulness, and with the quiet confidence that You are near and that You are working for good. Help tomorrow to be a day of fresh joy and renewed strength in Christ. Amen.
As you wait for the sun to rise, try to name even a few small gifts from today and thank God for them, and bring your cares to Him in prayer before you sleep. He is faithful, and He will be with you in the new day.
