A phone interview

Thank you for sharing this request and allowing us to pray with you about this phone interview. It is completely understandable to feel nervous and uncomfortable before something like this, especially when you are concerned about being late and how you will be received.

I have prayed for you that the Lord will quiet your heart and give you His peace through this. The Scripture promises that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. And we are told of a peace that passes all understanding that guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

In order to know that peace in a moment of pressure, we first need peace with God, and that peace only comes through Jesus Christ who made peace through His blood on the cross. When we have been forgiven and brought near to God through Him, the war inside is over. From that place of being at peace with God, we can then experience the peace of God day by day as we keep our minds and trust fixed on Him rather than on our fears or circumstances.

As you prepare for this call, try to turn your thoughts toward the Lord and remember that He cares for you and is able to take care of this situation. Fixing your mind on Him and trusting Him is the way that perfect peace fills the heart, even when things feel chaotic or uncertain.

I have prayed that God will calm your nerves, steady your mind, and help you to speak clearly. I have asked Him to provide someone kind and gracious on the other end of the line, that the conversation would go smoothly and without intimidation, and that any concern about being late would be met with understanding and would not hold you back or count against you. I have also prayed that you would sense His presence with you during the interview and that whatever the outcome, you would know His care and favor.

May the Lord ordain peace for you and let you experience His steady hand over this interview. We trust Him with you and ask all of this in Jesus name.
